Welcome to Dolphin Commute! This 3 bedroom (2 queen bedrooms, 1 bedroom with two sets of twin bunks), 2 bath (one newly remodeled for 2025!) home boasts a spacious porch with living, dining and play space, a fully fenced-in yard with fresh new landscaping, a brand-new outdoor shower and parking for 3+ cars. The house is located on a quiet, private drive and is just 4 short blocks from the beach. A Dewey Beach parking pass comes with the house so you will enjoy free parking in town and at the beach during your stay. The house is fully stocked with games, books, toys, TV, WiFi, a highchair, pack ‘n play, basketball hoop, charcoal grill and everything you need to cook at home. The kitchen and indoor dining area were completely remodeled and are brand new for summer 2025! Don’t feel like cooking? You are a quick walk to great bars and restaurants in Dewey Beach or jump aboard the Jolly Trolley to dine in Rehoboth. Well-behaved dogs are welcomed for a minimal pet fee and there is a bed waiting for them too. We know you will love Dolphin Commute just as much as our family does and create memories there to last until the next summer!

Love this place!! Great location, clean, comfortable, and within walking distance to the beach. We really enjoyed relaxing on the screened in front porch after a long day at the beach and boardwalk. Great communication with owners.Would definitely recommend!!!!

Excellent family-friendly house that was just as described!

This was our first beach trip with our 5yo and 2yo, and this house made it so easy! It had everything you would need for little ones. The other family that stayed with us (with a 6yo plus their dog) enjoyed how it was pet friendly and spacious. We loved the screened in porch and being able to walk to the beach. Everything was as described and there were no surprises, other than the amazing amount of kids books, games, and things to keep young kids entertained. We didn’t even get to half of it. Great closet space in all the bedrooms and updated bathrooms. The host was also very responsive and helpful! A perfect rating- we would definitely stay here again!!

We are the Pappas family from Washington, DC. We bought Dolphin Commute in 2015 just before our first child turned one. Since then, we have spent holidays, summers, and even quarantine making memories at the beach! And along the way we have made updates to the home to make it our own.

Why they chose this property

We chose South Avenue because it is a quiet, private drive and because it is such a short distance to the beach. We love being able to walk from our home into Dewey Beach or to the beach, and we enjoy biking to Rehoboth or over to the bike trails. The driveway is a perfect spot for many cars or for a pick up game of basketball. And our dog and children enjoy the fenced in yard for all sorts of activities!

What makes this property unique

By far the best feature of this home is the massive screened in porch. It nearly doubles the size of the home’s interior and it is where we spend the vast majority of our time. Whether it’s reading with a cup of coffee in the morning or enjoying a family meal or cocktail in the evening, the porch is the place to be. We have spent time landscaping the yard to make sitting on the porch extra appealing for viewing flowers and hummingbirds.
