Dream of spending a few days or few weeks in the quaint Island town of Manteo on Historic Roanoke Island. The Loft is situated on the second floor of the Lovely Neva Midgett House, listed on the Historic Houses of Manteo Registry. Surrounded by picket fences, the Loft sports its own very private arbor entry with a wonderful tree top deck overlooking Manteo--great moon shots at night--really (Moon over Manteo)

There’s no other area of the Outer Banks that is like Roanoke Island. Come and enjoy the history and mystery of the Island and yet be so close to the world class beaches of the Outer Banks. Enjoy the many amenities of a walkable village that is home to many wonderful restaurants, museums, art galleries, artist studios, shops, and museums. The restored and lovely waterfront and downtown area is an attraction in itself, with local boats sitting in Shallowbag Bay and the surrounding boardwalk with docks. Catch a sail on one of the restored boats, and enjoy the waterfront without a car--blend in with a bike!

Vacation

We wanted to add some extra days to our vacation at the OBX and heard Manteo was a nice area to visit, found this pet friendly loft and we were not disappointed. Walking distance to the shops and restaurants in town, very clean and quiet loft, thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and hope to be back in the future.

Great place for the ladies!

Three friends spent a week in this charming loft. There was ample space to spend time together and also have privacy, when necessary. We were close to many restaurants and amenities, like the distillery! The only downside would be for anyone 6' or over - they won't fit in the bathroom!

Best babymoon!

The Island Loft was an amazing place for our first trip to the Outer Banks! Everything was lovely- the beds were comfortable, AC worked great during a heat wave, and we had plenty of room to spread out. Location is superb, downtown Manteo is a quick walk away with lots of options for food and shopping. Sharon is a great host and was very responsive to emails- we even had the chance to meet her. Highly recommended and we cannot wait to come back with our baby!

Very Cozy

This is the second time we have stayed at this property. It is a great home base to explore the surrounding communities and has all the necessities. We have 2 boys (12 and 14) and it was a little tight, but doable. I love the patio/porch for coffee and reading. We walked to dinner most nights. Great value.

Adorable Cottage

My best friend and I had the opportunity to visit the Outer Banks and found this listing on VRBO. We couldn't have been happier. The owner was especially friendly and helpful with information. It was decorated so nice and the linens and amenities were excellent. The town of Manteo is a gem. It is close to all the beaches and tourist attractions but returning to our loft at the end of the day we felt like we were locals as opposed to tourists. Everyone was so friendly and we would definately return to this loft for another vacation.

Location, location, location!

This property was just as advertised. We were so comfortable in the Island Loft. It was well-provisioned, quiet, a good value, and the location couldn't have been better. Easy access to so many things that one goes to OBX to do! The property manager was outstanding. Make that OUTSTANDING! She took care of every niggle and was an excellent communicator, responding thoughtfully and promptly to questions large and small. Our family of four adults was universally pleased!

Peaceful, sleepy getaway

Great for quiet nights and relaxing. The patio was hemmed in by beautiful flowers (maybe honey suckles?) and trees so you’re truly hidden from view and able to unplug. Manteo is incredibly quiet, so it’s perfect if you’re looking for a quiet getaway.
