True North is a tranquil retreat on the banks of the Russian River, designed for guests to relax and recalibrate. This two-story home offers an unforgettable experience with a deck perched among the redwoods, direct river access, a hot tub, and seasonal equipment including two kayaks and a stand-up paddleboard (available May–October, weather permitting).

Ideally located, the property overlooks the river and Northwood Golf Course. Guests can swim and kayak directly from the riverbank, dine in Guerneville (three miles away), or explore Armstrong Redwoods State Natural Reserve (five miles away). The home is also perfectly situated for Russian River Valley wine tasting and scenic drives to the Sonoma Coast.

The interior features an open layout with generous windows and a well-appointed kitchen with stainless steel appliances. The living room includes a woodstove and entertainment options via cable, DVD, or streaming, while a designated playroom provides additional space.

Location and layout was GREAT! Many of the serving dishes, etc. were chipped and the poor house needs a decent set of knives! Would have also liked a fresher, bed situation with newer linens and comforter. You just can’t get away with grandma’s pillow pillows and throws anymore. Property owners need to step it up.

The house overall is very lovely! The deck and the access to the river right outside was what drew us to the property. It is a steep climb to get down to the river so be careful if it’s muddy as we slipped a few times. The carpets could use a freshening up. Maybe a dog had just stayed in the house? The living room and primary bedroom had a musty mildew/dog smell which was a little bothersome to some of us. The hot tub was lovely for the few colder days we had during our stay.

Our pathway to the river changes each river after the river settles and is not generally suggested for use until late April/early May, but, from the looks of your pictures, you all made it down there. It may be worth adding a rope handrail towards the bottom portion. This is a first mentioning of the carpets seeming musty, however with the rains this season, it is close to carpet cleaning time. We had just painted the interior of the atrium door and resurfaced part of the kitchen wall and cutting board, wondering if that may have contributed to the experience in a negative way (we hope not). We hope you next visit will be in warmer weather. We appreciate you choosing True North.

Unique space right along the Russian River

We enjoyed this house. The kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans, and all thst was needed for cooking big communal dinners. The house is quite beautiful, with an interior patio, outdoor deck, and hot tub area. The room with 3 beds was a bit cramped for several adults but workable. Overall, it's a.nice spot that's most enjoyable during the summer when you have direct access to the river.

I enjoy hosting visitors to the Russian River area, where I have lived all my life. I hope that each guest staying at the property leaves with a smile on their face and the consideration of a return stay.

Managing a riverfront home on the North Wood Golf Course with private Russian River access is rare. I grew up across the highway from this home and spent much of my childhood searching for lost golf balls to turn into the pro-shop for pocket change. This is a quiet neighborhood that shares its location with only the lucky ones. Once you have stayed here, you will be daydreaming of your next visit.

This home is well planned, maintained with intention and happiness, and owned by a friendly family that enjoys sharing it with others.
