Water & Sound View Getaway Suite – A Romantic PNW Escape
Welcome to your private Water & Sound View Getaway Suite, a peaceful retreat tucked inside a historic 1900s beach cottage overlooking the Puget Sound. Local legend says this home once served as a bootleggers cabin during the early days of the Pacific Northwest. Today it has been lovingly restored into a quiet and romantic getaway filled with charm, comfort, and unforgettable views.
This suite is designed for romantic escapes, peaceful solo stays, short visits to the Seattle area, and business travelers who want something far more relaxing than a standard hotel room.
With a private outdoor entrance, breathtaking water views, and your own outdoor relaxation spaces, this cozy suite allows you to fully experience the beauty and tranquility of the Pacific Northwest.
⸻
Stunning Water, Mountain, and Sunset Views
Step through the large French doors and enjoy unobstructed views of the Puget Sound, the Olympic Mountains, and glowing Pacific Northwest sunsets.
Outside you will find your own private driftwood cabana retreat, carefully designed to help you relax and enjoy the scenery.
Your private outdoor space includes:
• Comfortable outdoor lounge seating • A propane gas fire pit for your private use • A Salu Spa hot tub for your private use • An infinity view garden overlooking the water • Beautiful driftwood accents and peaceful garden surroundings
This entire outdoor area is reserved exclusively for guests staying in the suite, creating a peaceful and romantic setting to enjoy morning coffee, sunset views, or a quiet evening under the stars.

It was very clean and cozy! such great hosts. Such a great place to de-stress. Will definitely book again.
The host was very welcoming and easy to communicate with. Quick response to questions. Perfect location, the view is spectacular, hot tub was wonderful, and the bed was very comfortable.
The host was so welcoming; they hooked up a new propane tank for us, so that the fire pit would work; the view was stunning; the neighborhood was beautiful! The host was so gracious and sent us a list of places to walk in the neighborhood, and places to eat! The apartment itself was much bigger than it looks online, and they thought of every detail! Will definitely try to book again when in Kent, visiting family! Thank you!
Absolutely wonderful space. Quiet and beautiful area of the Puget sound with fantastic views. The hosts were very helpful and pleasant. Would happily stay again.
Home was easy to locate and in very nice neighborhood. Access was easy and was clean and comfortable. Was the right size for two and had what we needed for a three day stay! Pretty view and could watch otters and seals out in the bay. Thanks!
This was our first VRBO. Everything went smooth from check in to check out...Great communication from owner!

Such a lovely spot—peaceful, well-kept, and thoughtfully set up. It’s clear Ruth and Rich put a lot of care into making it a great experience and the process was easy from start to finish. We had everything we needed for a relaxing and comfortable stay. Would absolutely come again!
We enjoyed our time here while visiting. Its nice to be away from the city but close enough to everything! We even took advantage of the hiking path nearby! Thank you for sharing your space with us.
We had a wonderful time staying here. It was so fun to relax in the morning with the firepit and watch the boats and wildlife. Orcas and dolphins were spotted in the sound. Would definitely come again!!

About the host
Hosted by Richard and Ruth Cogzell
We enjoy hosting guests from all over the world. We have designed all our houses with many comforts of a home and vacation combined.
We have both worked in hospitality for many years and we try to provide excellent customer service in all circumstances. We have lived and travelled all over the world and love the sights and sounds of the sea, rivers, mountains, wildlife and nature around us in the Pacific Northwest. We have travelled extensively in Washington and can share the hidden gems or where to visit and places to eat at that will make your visit that much more unique.
During the winter we love how accessible both our homes are to the snow resorts and mountains for sledding, snowboarding, skiing and hiking.
In spring and summer our homes are central to a myriad of state parks and idyllic waterfront towns. Come explore the beauty of the many lakes or the beaches of the Puget sound, waterfalls and lazy days on the river to paddle, tube and raft.
We enjoy making your stay in our homes a thoroughly enjoyable experience.
Come stay awhile with us at either Mountain View House, The Little Barn at Mountain View or at Water View House.
Water View home was built in the early 1900’s and we are delighted that you can experience the history and charm of our driftwood and boutique Water View Puget Sound Getaway.
Mountain View House is a farmhouse conversion with sweeping views over the valley and ‘take your breath away’ views of the valley, Mt Ranier and the cascade mountains.
The Little Barn is our original farm barn at Mountain View. It is red and white and "farmhouse-ish". It has all the looks and rustic charm of the farm minus the animals.
We look forward to meeting and hosting you. Richard and Ruth read less
