About this property
A Green Oasis in Town with a Magnificent View of S.Peter Dome
The major characteristic of this quiet and bright location is its positioning in a green area in the center of Rome, with a terrace where you can enjoy having breakfast over the skyline of the city. The apartment, suitable to host a family (up to 3 people), is located on Via San Damaso, 15 minute walking distance from the Vatican City, on the top floor (5th, with elevator). The building faces a private park and just below the terrace you can see grazing sheeps, goats and horses, while a family of foxes is asking for food. Forget the confusion of the city and relax yourself just few minutes from the center of town. All rooms are very bright and cool in summer, due to the position of the apartment. The terrace, the living room, and the main bedroom overlook a splendid, broad, panoramic view of St. Peter's dome and all of central Rome, as far as Villa Borghese, the Pincio terrace, Villa Medici and Trinita’ dei Monti.
It consists of a living/dining room with a dining table and a a pull-out style queen sleep sofa, one double bedroom (160 x 200 cm), a second room with a single sofa, a bathroom equipped with tub and shower, a kitchen completely equipped (gas cooker, microwave-oven, fridge/freezer, , both moka and American-style coffee machines, kettle, toaster and all the necessary cooking utensils, no dishwasher) and a large terrace (20 sqm) with table and chairs. A washing machine is available upon request. The apartment, totally refurnished, has luxury finishing and parquet floors in every room.
A bus stop (n. 982) is at the gate of the building, taking you to sixteenth-century Rome (Via Giulia, Piazza Farnese, Campo de’ Fiori) or to the Vatican City and metro A “Ottaviano” station. Many other buses are a few minutes walking distance. A train stop (ROMA S. PIETRO, line FR3 connected to FR1 from “Leonardo da Vinci airport” at the TRASTEVERE station) is a 10 minutes walking while a taxi ride to and from the airport costs 40 euro (March 2012). Free parking is easily available in the area, or a private parking place can be arranged upon request.

Great, warm welcome from very kind and interested hosts. The apartment was nice and quiet with a terrace with excellent view. It was very convenient located for a visit to Trastevere and Vatican City.
The apartment was beautiful, clean & well equipped. Our host Alberto & Annamaria were very warm & welcoming. Great location with stunning views! A fabulous property!
Alberto was very welcoming. The apartment was well equipped and the view from the balcony is amazing. After a day in the busy city it was great to relax on the quiet balcony. Alberto's restaurant recommendations were excellent.

Thank you so much for your kind words, you were very pleasant and correct guests, best wishes
We stayed 3 nights at Alberto’s apartment and had a wonderful stay. After long days of site seeing it was so nice to come back and relax on the patio. The apartment has everything you would need during your stay plus more. Alberto was very helpful with all the recommendations and instructions during our stay. Thank you for letting us stay!
The photos and description on the Vrbo site do not do justice to this amazing apartment. It is a haven from the madness that is Rome, whilst being within a short bus ride of St Peter’s Basilica. The view from the balcony is simply stunning. And Alberto is such a great host who takes pleasure in making sure that his guests get the most from their visit.
Absolutely loved our stay @ Alberto & Marie’s apartment. Wonderful hosts & just a perfect place close to all the best of Rome plus you receive the gift of a quiet neighborhood and a tremendous view of the Basilica & the city beyond. I will rebook this place for another visit! Thank you!
After the hustle and bustle of the city, this location is a beautiful and tranquil retreat. We would love to return. The hosts were wonderful. We will never forget there kindness and all the extra touches they provided. Highly recommended.❤

Rome away from home
We picked this location as it was closer to the airport while still walking distance to many of our key interests in Rome. We were very satisfied. The apartment was just as described and amenities were taken care of. Alberto is the most gracious host! We would definitely stay again.

Thank you very much Nancy, it was a pleasure to host you
If I could rate this condo with 10 stars I would!
The owner is a wonderful host! This property is located in a quiet, very nice neighborhood with a view that is amazing!
The owners are so thoughtful and kind, they have thought of everything you might need away from home.
I would not stay anywhere else when in Rome! Loved it!
Thank you Alberto for a wonderful stay! ❤
We had wonderful days in this apartment. Everything well arranged and its very silent in the night. You can park your car in a garage not far away from the apartment. The host Alberto is very helpful and gives a lot of informations and reccomandations e.g. Restaurants. We will suggest it to our Friends!
Great apartment with fabulous views of St Peters and Rome
Alberto is an excellent host, made us feel very welcome and gave good recommendations of neighborhood and city restaurants, and suggested some lesser known sights which were well worth seeing without the big queues of the main attractions.
The apartment is very convenient for the Vatican, but is quite a distance from the ancient sites (Forum, Colloseum), so you'd need to use public transport for these. The buses and metro are inexpensive and mostly reliable.
This apartment is well situated outside of the hustle and bustle of Rome, but still easily accessible to everything via public buses. Extraordinary view, of St Peter’s Basilica and the city on the one hand, and of the park and some animals that live there on the other hand. Very tranquil. Has lovely design touches throughout. Very thoughtfully hosted, with everything you might need, abundant advice and suggestions, and a gracious and friendly host in Alberto. So glad my mother and I chose this apartment for our stay in Rome, and would return.

A great apartment in a good location well served by public transport.
We particularly liked the views from the balcony.
Alberto could not have been more helpful. A lot of really useful information sent to us when we booked.
The sound & light show at the Forum is well worth a visit.
We would book again and have recommended to others
Many thanks Alberto for all your help and advice.

A Wonderful Experience!
It's such a pleasure to review this property! The location is very quiet, overlooking the cupola of St. Peter's Basilica AND lovely green space! The apartment is VERY clean and well supplied and the outside terrace is spectacular! We arrived to find fresh flowers, a bottle of wine, coffee, fruit, cookies, breakfast food...everything one would need when arriving! A lot of tourist and public transportation information is provided, as well as umbrellas in case of rain! The owner, Alberto, lives at the other end of the hall and was always available if needed. This really is a spectacular rental, with a wonderful landlord who goes out of his way to insure that his tenants have perfectly lovely stays!

Alberto
Alberto’s flat is lovely, spotlessly clean and has beautiful views, thanks to an extremely privileged location. It is a convenient distance from the centre (only a 20 minute walk) but thankfully far enough from the hustle and bustle of what is a very noisy city indeed. In fact, the views from the terrace make one feel as if you’re in the country. A perfect terrace on which to eat breakfast before a day of sightseeing and put your feet up afterwards. You could not wish for a more hospitable, helpful, informative and friendly host than Alberto. We would certainly recommend this flat to anyone considering visiting Rome. The location also means it is a fairly quick taxi ride from Fiumicino airport, which was actually as economical as public transport. Have I mentioned the views?

Thank you so much Emma, Ahsan and Will, what you wrote makes me a great pleasure, thinking of you I feel you as friends, as well as guests, and I hope you can come back one day.
We felt so lucky to stay at this lovely location. Alberto & AnnaMarie were so kind & helpful. There were so many thoughtful touches to the apartment that it would be hard to list them all. The beds were comfy, the terrace a breath-taking pleasure in the cool of morning and the late evenings, the fans and great windows allow the place to really feel cool in the evening. We had a great 6 day stay in Rome - in large part because the apartment was such a nice sanctuary to return to.
The only downside: the bus that stops right outside the building is highly irregular (we never caught it once, and not for a lack of trying!). Best to walk to the main street down the hill 5 minutes and bus from there. Overall, the location was a tradeoff - great to be outside the bustle of areas closer in, but after a full day of walking and sightseeing, we were often really exhausted by getting back.

Perfect Plus
We were overwhelmed when we arrived here from a similar stay in Florence. Alberto had stocked the apartment with everything we needed for breakfast as well as wine and flowers. The apartment was spotlessly clean and Alberto had a book of tips to help us get the most of our stay. It included directions to grocery stores and restaurants and advice for taking the bus. We found that we could walk to the Vatican and the 916 bus took us to Plaza Venezia where we could walk to the Forum, the Colosseum, the Trevi Fountain, the Spanish Steps and many other sites. What a great location! We loved the terrace with its views of farmland and St. Peters. Alberto's pictures and descriptions were accurate and informative. We had a wonderful experience from beginning to end and recommend this apartment without reservation.

these beautiful descriptions of my apartment and the satisfaction of my guests reinforce in me the desire to be more and more hospitable to make them feel very much at home
Alberto's property is nothing short of amazing! The place is on the top floor of a condo tower above the Vatican with sweeping views of the city and adjoining some pastures that ensure it never gets too loud here. It was dependably quiet and peaceful here with few noises beyond the birds and proved to be a wonderful solace from a lot of the noise that in Rome. Just be sure to take advantage of this slice of heaven and give yourselves at least a morning or afternoon to unwind here.
The place has easy access to the bus system that'll get you pretty much to anywhere in the historic districts with a bus way that ensures you aren't snarled in traffic (metro passes are cheap, that said we found on-board fare validators to be hit or miss on if they worked). Alberto is a great host and is very communicative, we felt well-informed in the lead up to getting to his place. He also provided some items for a simple breakfast (toast, jams, fruits, juice, coffee, tea, etc.) that helped us kick start our day. Based on our experience, I don't think you'll regret choosing this place -- highly recommended.
