Embrace the unique charm of this revamped mid century 1954 home with 3 inviting bedrooms. The residence features an array of vintage and modern furnishings and decor, vibrant oranges and greens, mesmerizing motifs, an open-plan living area, and a covered outdoor dining space. Come enjoy a little bit of Palm Springs in Austin!
We have lovingly restored this 1954 house to bring it back to its mid-century swing. The Greenhouse is furnished with our collection of vintage furniture and light fixtures that we have collected over the years.
The house features 3 bedrooms- 2 queen beds and a king- all with new mattresses, foam toppers, and every type of pillow firmness to find "that one." Each room has light filtering shades and drapes to make it a cozy den. The sofa in the living room can serve as single bed as well.
The living room features a 50" TV (not pictured in the photos) with a Roku box for Internet TV (HBO GO, WatchESPN, Amazon, Netflix).
The kitchen features custom tile from Nicaragua, longleaf pine countertops, and plenty of culinary tools and tableware to host a dinner or a party.
Not interested in cooking? We are walking distance (6 blocks) to restaurant row on Manor Road: Mi Madre's for breakfast, El Chile for lunch and Salty Sow for dinner, and Butterfly Bar for a nightcap. Never wash a dish!
Our location on the East Side is an excellent central basecamp for Austin's downtown and east side highlights- SXSW, ACL, Formula 1, and UT sporting events. If you're just in town to see Austin, we have a list of our favorite restaurants and interesting things to do in Austin.
Looking for water in the Texas heat? There's a splash pad just 2 blocks away for the kiddos, and many nearby neighborhood pools- Mueller, Rosewood and Bartholomew Park. If you're a bit adventurous, check out the natural swimming holes just on the outskirts of the city, or go tubing for the day in San Marcos. We wrote up a guide at the house with all of these options for your trip.
We have a few amenities not seen in the photos: Tivoli speaker Pack and play High chair Kids toys Board games Books Alarm system
Please note that our decor is mid-century modern, and that style comes with low-to-the-ground seating and beds, which some of our older guests find challenging to get in and out of.
We live a few blocks away- if you have any questions or even an emergency, we're here to help.

We are a husband and wife team who own and host this property by ourselves- and try to make every experience here awesome. As travellers ourselves (and now with kiddos) we understand the value of airbnb and what you need in a home away from home. We've furnished this house as we would hope to find on airbnb.
We have a design and build company for custom homes, called Hatch Works, and are proud to build 3-4 homes per year in Austin. Houses that feel like home are our thing.
Why they chose this property
We love this small community and hope you enjoy all the quirkiness Austin's East Side has to offer. We live a few blocks away from our Airbnb house and are happy to offer help or guidance in exploring Austin.
