Mission Beach is a unique spot, offering the best of both worlds with easy access to the ocean and the bay. This recently remodeled, surf-inspired bungalow is just 55 steps from the beautiful Mission Bay, making it a perfect escape for water lovers. The open, California-style kitchen is sleek and modern, equipped with stainless steel appliances for all your cooking needs. The cozy living room features a 50-inch flat screen TV and a queen sofa bed with a memory foam mattress for additional sleeping space. The dining area comfortably seats 6, with 4 breakfast bar stools for casual meals.
Both bedrooms are furnished with new queen beds, 50-inch flat screen TVs, and ceiling fans for added comfort. The two bathrooms, conveniently located off the hallway, offer walk-in showers with glass doors, single sinks, and toilets. Outside, the private, fenced front yard provides a peaceful space to unwind with lounge chairs or fire up the BBQ for an evening meal. You’ll also find parking for one large car or two small cars in tandem right next to the building. For your comfort, a portable A/C unit is provided to keep things cool.

Mission Beach
Policies & What to Expect
Arrival/Departure Policy: Check in time is 3 pm and strictly enforced. (From Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day, check-in is at 4pm) Check out time is 11 am. Please follow all instructions for your arrival and departure in our email and phone call correspondence. There is signage around the home to assist with the use of amenities and questions that you may have during your stay. We are available too, even after hours-give us a call!
Nightly Minimum Policy: 2-4 night minimum required in the off season.
☀️ Holidays: 5 night minimum. There are no arrivals on Independence Day (July 4), Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year's Day.
☀️ Summer: Memorial Day - Labor Day, 5 night minimum. No arrivals on Independence Day (July 4).
Last Minute Booking Policy: If a guest books with us directly or on any OTA such as Airbnb and VRBO, within 72 hours of arrival, verification credentials are required. By making a payment on the reservation, the guest agrees to comply with our last minute booking policy.
To properly vet a guest with such short notice requires the following; a “selfie” photo specifically of the booking guest’s face and holding either a Driver’s License, Passport or State ID photo under their chin. We are just looking for a name to match and the photo on the ID to match that of the person in the selfie. This can be sent by email or text to our company email address. Additionally, we need to confirm guest details such as payment, contact information, applicable check-in time, number of guests and ages, any pets, etc.
This process is required, and if a guest refuses to comply then the reservation will be canceled. We have found this procedure to be successful in avoiding fraud, and protecting all parties! We appreciate your cooperation and we are available to help with any questions.
🐾 Pet Policy: Pets are permitted at this property with an additional pet fee*** $250 plus tax for the first pet, and $150 plus tax for the second pet. Please send breed, age, and weight for approval on your pet’s stay.
Rate Policy: Prices change on a daily basis so the rates you see today may be higher or lower when booking!
Age Policy: We do not typically rent to guests under the age of 25 or large parties. Please contact us prior to booking to see how we may accommodate your group.
After booking: We manage properties on behalf of our owners. Upon confirming your booking, we will send you a rental agreement for your upcoming stay which you will need to complete. This agreement reviews our terms and conditions, house rules and policies, and what to expect of your stay. We will also contact you within 24 hours of the booking to obtain contact information and to address any questions or concerns you may have regarding your upcoming visit. The check-in details will not be shared until the rental agreement has been signed, payment has been made, and the guest has connected with one of our guest services agents.
In addition to completing our electronic rental agreement, you will also be required to participate in our identity verification process. The Verify Hub service is offered through Autohost; an intelligent guest screening software that automates ID verifications, background and credit checks, security deposits and more, helping to improve guest experience and safety. Please note: for the credit card verification, a $2 hold will be placed on the card to run the report. This hold will never process and will fall off automatically within 7 days.
Property Appearance: Vacation rentals in San Diego are for the most part, second homes for the owners. Therefore, some furniture or decor may differ from what is pictured because the owners needed or wanted to replace something. Professional photos are expensive and we can not re-photograph the rental every time something is changed but we do maintain the listing content with any notable furnishing changes especially related to sleeping arrangements. (*Please note: We do not give refunds because a piece of furniture or artwork has changed)
Property Responsibilities: If you have never stayed in a vacation rental before, we are not a hotel, WE ARE BETTER! We offer many of the same luxuries of a hotel with the comfort and space of home to share with your whole family. Our property owners are our friends and we work with each owner to offer a special, specific and ideal environment for guests to experience and enjoy. All of our homes offer similar amenities so you can expect the same experience whenever staying with us.
With that said, we need you to do your part in helping us maintain each home. Please be attentive to ALL RESPONSIBILITIES as a guest of our home. Trash/Recycling, Check-out duties, Communication to management, Replacement of keys/fobs/remotes, and Care of the home all help us give each guest and family a home to feel at home in. Noise: This home is in a residential neighborhood and, as such, is a NOISE SENSITIVE property. Respect must be shown for the property and neighbors at all times. No loud music, parties, and or loud talking outside after 9 pm. Violation of these rules MAY result in immediate eviction from the property per your rental agreement, and/or fines from the San Diego Police. Please review your rental agreement for complete details and rules about your home!
Starter Kit/Guest Essentials: We like our guests to feel at home as soon as they arrive! We provide a ‘starter kit’ to help our guests get settled without needing to rush off to the store. Our kits include: paper towels, toilet paper, shampoo/conditioner, soap, linens, towels, kitchen sponges, dish soap, laundry detergent and fabric softener, dishwasher soap when applicable, trash bags, extra blankets, sometimes extra pillows, extra sheets-for sleeper sofas, hair dryers, ironing boards, kitchens fully stocked-enough for max occupancy with some extra settings, toasters, some waffle makers, blenders, tool kits, first aid kits, fire extinguishers, and co2/fire detectors.
We recommend a car for ease of getting around, but public transportation (city bus) is available. Tandem parking for 2 vehicles is included with the rental. Please pay attention to the monthly street sweeping signs.

Check in was seamless, parking was tight for a Jeep gladiator and a Chevy traverse but worked. Kitchen was stocked well & the gas grill was good size for tri tip and brats. Short walk to Belmont Park, bay and beach. Good WiFi and TVs

Loved coming here with our two young kids for a staycation. Could not beat the location - walkable to so many things. It also wasn’t too loud or noisy, it felt quiet and secluded. The place was nice and clean, stocked well. The beds were comfortable. Would love to stay here again!

We stayed the beginning of April. The weather was perfect and this charming little house. I love the 2 tables they have in there. I highly recommend this house. Easy walking to beach,bay, and Belmont Park. I would rent here again.

Perfect little house for two adults and three littles. The only complaint I had was that the dishwasher was packed full with dirty dishes and the WiFi was down the first day.. other than that everything was great! Can’t wait to go back!

Loved our trip, plain and simple! You can’t beat the location, and the house was a perfect size for all 6 of us (4 adults, 2 children). Patio area with tables and chairs/chaisse loungers was a great area to relax with coffee in the morning or enjoy the sun after a day at the beach. Only critique would be a few kitchen items not being provided (pizza cutter/baking pan), and the number of amenities provided wasn’t quite accurate (i.e. welcome letter stated 5 rolls of TP/bathroom, there were 3 in total). Outside of that, already wishing we can come back!

Great location
This is a great location! The issue was that it was listed for 6 people and the pull out couch had blankets but no sheets for it. The mattress was dirty. The comforter in one of rooms was torn and dirty. Not enough bath towels. This is managed by a property management company so a bit disappointing.

Our stay was great only one thing it was hot in the daytime and night. Portable ac in the living room dosen't cool off the rest of the rooms. There's is no shade to sit outside. The sun hits condo all day.

Our 5-night stay at the Mission Beach home on Island Ct was fantastic. As a family of 4 (4 year old and 18 month old), we found the place to be very accommodating. There was plenty of San toys, and the small front yard was perfect. There was no bathtub (as advertised), so make sure your littles can use the shower with your help. The customer service team is very helpful, and does frequent check ins to see if all is well which is great. You’re a quick walk to the bay, beach or Belmont Park, and a close drive to the SD Zoo or Sea World. Thank you for the fantastic stay!
The vacation rental is great spot, perfect location to mission bay/beach, right across from Belmont fun and plenty of restaurants to eat at. The house could use some updating but other thatn that the rental was great. Our only complaint would be we were only told there were renovations in the unit above us the day we were already driving in. The renovations took place everyday, some starting at 7am and lasting until6pm and to a family vacationing and spending the money you have to to stay it was very upsetting. We should have been told well in advance to make other arrangements because we work while on vacation, people sleep and the loudness was just annoying. We completely understood renovations have to happen but renters need notice, not an hour before we arrive.

We were just as frustrated and surprised as our guest that a renovation was going on of above our unit.
The owner and property manager of that upper unit did not give us any notice at all about their renovation and learning about this from our maintenance team late in game was not ideal.
Although we are not in control of what other owners or residents do, we always strive to notify our guests well in advance of any situation in the neighborhood that may affect their stay. We needed to know this was going on before hand to properly update guests. So sorry we were both caught off guard. In spite of this, we are glad you still found enjoyment in your stay.
The apartment is cute and cozy. I love the way it’s decorated. We had everything we needed. It was great to have bikes. Some improvement suggestions are there is construction next door which would have been nice to know about or at least get a break in the rent because of it. I didn’t realize it was the main floor of a 2 storey. The upstairs neighbors were mostly considerate except for the last batch — they were very loud. It is very nice to have 2 bathrooms but the shower is very small and difficult to regulate temperature. There is a motion light outside bedrooms which is on intermittently all night shining into back bedroom the worst. The beds are comfortable although lost a lot of sleep due to light and neighbors.

Beware the parking calamities!
This cottage, though beautiful on the inside, is located in a rough neighborhood with equally rough neighbors. The parking situation is terrible and completely understated in the property description. A larger vehicle WILL NOT fit in the parking space provided and no overnight street parking is available for miles. Neighbors openly threaten you with towing upon your arrival if you dare encroach the painted red line in the driveway. We were told someone is always watching. Lovely.
The property is accessed from both sides through allies that are not safe to access after dark. My family and I were accosted by transients and other locals multiple times in our short two hour stay. We decided to eat the fee and vacation elsewhere rather than stay somewhere we felt unsafe.
Don't waste your precious vacation time squatting in this place trying to ditch the local street life. Spend your money luxuriating in a resort just on the other side of the bay.

I'm sorry to hear you decided to not stay because I think you would have seen why Mission Beach is the most popular beach destination in San Diego. It’s a unique thin strip of land between the bay and the ocean, so popular with tourists that it is 44% vacation rentals. The balance of residents are typically retired couples and students attending one of the 3 major universities in the area. The students move out for 10 weeks in the summer and tourist families come in to enjoy the summer.
Our neighbors are a nice middle-aged couple who have lived there for about 20 years. Their neighbors (our duplex) change weekly and I’m sure that is difficult for them but the only time they get testy is when someone does not pay attention to the red line dividing the two parking areas and parks onto their side making it impossible for them to get their large truck into their parking space. They have nowhere to park while they try to find our guests who could be at the beach, walking, riding bikes, or eating at a nearby restaurant. It's extremely inconvenient for them. Our guests also usually arrive in large SUVs and, while tight, they all seem to park there without problem. We do have a picture of the parking area in our photos.
This is a very popular rental in a very popular beach area that was built in the 20s and 30s as a vacation rental destination. Most people would not consider it “rough” but rather a fun beach area. The streets run between the bay and the beach. The entry doors are clustered along “Courts” which are picturesque sidewalks that are named after the world’s most popular beach towns. The backside of every rental faces an alley, necessary to access the garages and parking.
There is another one way alley that gives cars access to all of the parking alleys. Bayside Lane runs South to North on the bay side and Strand Way runs North to South on the ocean side. We have not gotten any other comments saying these parking access alleys are unsafe at night, nor have we received any other comments about our guests being accosted by transients and locals. We do have an occasional bike stolen when our guest fails to lock it up properly.
I'm very sorry you apparently got off to a bad start with the neighbor due to parking over the line and decided to leave and stay in a hotel on the other side of Mission Bay. We have plenty of rentals on the other side of the bay as well and would have been happy to have helped you find another vacation rental.

We loved this place!
It was something like in a magazine. It was very clean. The beds very comfortable, the interior decoration beautiful, and the outside area with the grill and the grassy front were perfect! Even the neighbors were nice and greeted us when passing by. The location couldn't be better! It's between the bay and the ocean. On one side from the house you reach the bay within a few steps, where we enjoyed Sea World's fireworks every evening (they only last for 10 minutes around 10pm. No noise nuisance). The bay is also perfect for families with little children to go swim in, since there are no waves. One can also do all kinds of water sports there, such a kayaking, stand up paddling and more. On the other side of the house, about a block and a half away, you have the pacific ocean with the beach, bars, restaurants, shops, bike rentals etc. And Belmont Park is right there too! Lots of fun for the kids!
We rented bikes and rode along the beach walk to Pacific Beach and along the bay. It was so nice!
This property is also close to a lot of sight seeing places. You have Sea World very close by. And aside of Pacific Beach, you have Ocean Beach going the other way, which is nice to see with it's Newport avenue and pier. The Sports Arena area with all kinds of shopping possibilities is very close too. Then you have Old town, Downtown, Seaport Village and the Star of India Maritime Museum. And don't forget to visit beautiful Balboa Park and the Zoo which is adjacent to the park.
We definitely recommend this place and this beautiful appartment. And a big thank you to costumer service, for responding so quickly to any concerns, and answering all of our questions! Great service! We will definitely come back!

Wouldn’t stay here again
Unfortunately we would not stay in this place again. For a number a reasons. At first Nacy’s Vacation rentals seemed super friendly and accommodating when we first were looking to book. Days before our arrival they informed us that construction would be going on homes next door. Then it was construction above our unit. (Had we known construction was going to be happening above our unit the entire stay we would have absolutely picked a different place for our vacation. They let us know with no time to change our trip. No accommodations were given to make up for the construction. In fact we were emailing with a supervisor who asked if we wanted to come in the day before for a 10% difference and as we’re emailing back and forth with her she decides to stop responding so that the extra day wasn’t even available to us. The amount of times I tried calling the office with no one to answer or I’d get “I’ll check on that and call you back” and would never get a call back was very disappointing.
The home itself is basic. There is no a/c other than in the living room (which we knew from other reviews) but noticed there were fans in the bedrooms. The fans were so disgustingly filthy I wouldn’t even turn them on. The second bathroom had a horrible rotten egg smell coming from the drains to where we couldn’t even use the bathroom it was SO BAD. We opened windows, ran hot water, bought air fresheners, but nothing seemed to help - so we were down to one bathroom. Also, bring batteries beca
