About this property

Walk to the Beach - Large 3 BR in Freeland

Relax on Whidbey at this lovely 3-bedroom house, 2-bath house. Walk down to Robinson Beach (1500 feet) for beautiful sunsets or just experience them from the deck after a day exploring the island. The house sleeps 6 with 2 queen beds and 2 twin beds. A large living room, additional family room/TV room and deck peeking out to Puget Sound and the Olympics (with even better views in the winter) give you plenty of space to unwind. A well-stocked updated kitchen, two full bathrooms, washer and dryer, and wireless internet make your stay comfortable and easy. There is an indoor dining table that seats 6 and an umbrella table on the deck that seats 6 - choose whether to eat inside or out! The family room features a Roku Smart TV with all the streaming services, and there are board games and puzzles for kids and adults. The house is a 15 minute drive from the Clinton ferry and just over a mile from the large grocery store in Freeland - it's a wonderful base for exploring the island.
November through April, staying into the late afternoon on your checkout day will usually be available - please check, but we will do our best to accommodate that.
While on the island, check out the Bayview Farmer's Market on Saturday mornings, poke around the town of Langley, eat mussels in Coupeville, visit historic Ebey's Landing or Fort Ebey State park (our favorite spots on the island for hiking), or experience the Price Sculpture Forest - we have plenty of suggestions for outings. On your way home, stop for a cider and live music at the Greenbank Cidery, just a 4-minute drive away.
(Please note (1) house is a split entry with a large open plan living area upstairs that cannot be blocked off from the stairs - please consider if booking with small children; (2) TV is a Roku TV which provides access to all of the major streaming services - bring your own login info - and there is no cable.)

Check-out instructions

The host requires you to complete the following before checking out:
Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks and take out the rubbish
Turn off the lights, lock the doors and return the keys
Please leave sheets and towels for the cleaner - don’t strip the beds.
If you have dirty dishes, running the dishwasher as soon as you can the morning of your departure would be appreciated but I’d not required.
Garbage goes out to the can in the driveway. Recycling should remain in the bins in the house.
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.
No loud parties - no music outside after 10:30 PM, please move away from firepit by 11 PM.
No smoking anywhere on the property. $250 fine for any violation.
Keep the washing machine door open when not in use. Your sheets and towels smelling clean and fresh depend on this.

About the host

We love Whidbey Island and we hope you will too! We have traveled all over the world but so far we haven't found a place that would move us away from Washington State - even living 2 years in New Zealand!

Why they chose this property

Getting off the ferry on the island brings an immediate calming sensation. We've had a beautiful east-facing view of the Washington Cascades for 25 years, but we love the west view here. It's lovely to walk down to the beach and to feel so close to the water. Freeland is the perfect base location on the island - away from the busy tourist scene in Langley but close enough to visit easily and the perfect location for island exploration, whether that is beach, forest, town, farmers' markets, outdoor sculpture, seafood, local beer and cider or something else.

What makes this property unique

The house has so much light and so much space - it really feels relaxing to stay there.
