Beachfront House - Right on the Beach in Ocean Beach

This private home is in an amazing Ocean Beach (OB) location – steps to the beach with great views and amenities.

This recently remodeled 3 bedroom, 2 bath home on the 2nd story level features a gourmet kitchen with granite countertops. All the kitchen appliances and utensils you need for a relaxing vacation including: blender, coffeemaker, toaster oven and full-size oven, 5-burner gas stove and a variety of pots and pans. The kitchen also has a bar-height counter and stools in addition to the dining area table with amazing views of the beach. Watch the sunset as you dine.

The master bedroom features a queen-sized bed, vaulted ceiling, and access to an outdoor patio, unique custom bath with tropical tiling, oversized tub and custom shower.

The 2nd and 3rd bedrooms both feature tropical décor and queen and full-sized beds, respectively. 4th bedroom is a lockout available upon request with additional fee.

This house also includes a private tropical patio area as well as a balcony off of the entryway and master bedroom. There is a washer and dryer in the unit. 1 off-street parking spot provided.

For entertainment and business (if you choose to do any) this house features an HDTV along with wireless internet access.

Nice quiet OB location, yet close to everything San Diego has to offer. With only a few steps to the beach you can’t beat this location – perfect for surfing, kayaking, body boarding – or just relaxing on the beach. You can even watch the surfer’s and beach action right from the dining room table - you may even see dolphins playing in the surf. With views from living room, dining room and kitchen you will never feel far from the beach.

This house is an easy walk (just a few blocks) to the famous OB pier (the longest concrete pier on the west coast) and the main business district of Ocean Beach – Newport Avenue. On Newport you will find restaurants (ask about our favorites), antique stores, coffee houses, bars, bike and surf shops. On Wednesday evenings Newport Avenue features a Farmer’s Market where you can find local fruits, vegetables and flowers, street performances and food vendors.

My family and I had a wonderful time! We really enjoyed our stay, very relaxing. The house was very homely and roomy. Easy access walking to the beach and swimming. We didnt have to drive anywhere. We walked to shops and restaurants. Lots to enjoy at night, especially walking the beach. We definitely will be returning!

While the major areas like the kitchen and bathrooms were clean there was a lot of dust on the many fake plants and the fans (which had feathers caught in the grills too). There were cobwebs in the windows too. Susan means well but besides the kitchen, the apartment is in dire need of a refresh. The carpets are old and stained, the window curtains also old, tattered and missing slats. Same goes for the sofas which were also smelly. The photos in the listing must be quite old since some of the pieces have been swapped out and others a lot more worn. It was odd considering the furniture in the bedroom had really nice pieces, albeit on a grimy carpet. Even though the location was great, we ended up leaving after a week into our 2 week booking. Honestly we were scratching our heads how this listing how so many good reviews. It was upsetting and financial strain to pay for a vacation home in San Diego only for it to be unpleasant for us an our toddler, ultimately needing to move and book another place.

I had an excellent vacation with my teenage kids at the beach for the 4th of July here. The house was gorgeous, the neighborhood is quiet, the people are friendly, and the beach was amazing. One of my kids spent the entire time fishing and loved it. Another spent all of his time boogie boarding, we struggled to drag him out of the water. Two of them loved walking around the neighborhood and checking out all the small shops. Plus, literally everything you need is provided. We brought most of our own stuff but it was nice that they were made available. I'm already planning our next vacation here in my head, though I'll probably drive a smaller car. I struggled to get my Suburban in a bit.

The house was very clean, a great location, the kitchen has everything you need to cook meals. The mosaic throughout the house, and the bathroom were absolutely beautiful. Although some say it’s quiet, we did not find it to be very quiet due to the flight path and being so close to the airport. The blinds are thin, and there is a lot of light that comes in, especially in the master. If you are sensitive to light and noise, I would definitely pack a sleep mask, and either some light earplugs or sound machine. The only complaint from one of the people staying with us, was that the full size bed was not very comfortable. She found it to be hard and unsupportive. We will definitely choose to stay here again next time we visit. The host was an absolute delight, and very responsive.

Great stay in OB!

OB is a classic San Diego neighborhood and this is the place to enjoy it. Walking distance to anything you want, and a short uber from all the best SD has to offer.

Location location location!

I bought this property when we were in our early 30's. I have used it as our primary residence and as a rental for over 40 years. We completed a major remodel in 2007 and since then have continued to make additional improvements each year. I now live here for about 4-5 months in the winter and then in a small town of Nevada City the rest of the year. I love my OB home as do our kids and grandkids who love spending time with me at the beach. Great California beach community!!!

Why they chose this property

I have owned many homes in Ocean Beach over the last 35+ years. They have all had their own unique qualities but in the end I chose this unit as my favorite because of a combination of view, closeness to the beach and walking distance to restaurants, breweries and shopping in OB.

Great beachfront location with great views. 1 off-street parking spot. Private patio and balcony with picnic table and BBQ., tropical plants and Palm trees. Easy access to fwy to see zoo, harbor, Sea World, etc. of SD.
