About this property

Suite Escape Mountainside Retreat with full deck. Pet friendly!

We are in the middle of everything that people come to Maggie Valley for. Our intention is for your stay to be a memorable experience!
Suite Escape is in a peaceful setting surrounded by nature. It is a stylishly decorated ground level of our home with a private entrance.
The kitchen is complete with a full size refrigerator, convection/toaster oven, microwave oven, electric skillet, hot plate with ceramic saucepan, regular drip and Keurig coffee makers. Cable TV is available in both the living room with DVD player and the bedroom. You have your own private deck that runs the length of the house. You may take the table and chairs outside on the deck for al fresco dining. There is a heated mattress pad on the king size bed for frosty nights! Additionally, the sofa in the living room is a queen size sleeper sofa. We use all organic and non-toxic cleaning products.
Guest Access: The entrance door has a keyless entry system & guests will be issued a unique passcode before arrival.
Guests may use the driveway to unload. Parking is available on the upper level for your vehicles. We are motorcycle friendly. We may share our garage space by special arrangement.

Interaction with Guests

We live on the upper level of the home, so most of the time we'll be available to our guests. We are happy to loan household items as needed and offer recommendations . Washer and Dryer may be available for use by special arrangement.

The Neighborhood

Our neighborhood is a great place to walk. If you like to hike, you can go all the way to the top of the mountain and Maggie Overlook!
We are near some great restaurants and local shops, and we're walking distance from the Maggie Valley Festival Grounds. It's a 10 minute drive to Waynesville and the grocery store, 12 minutes to Cataloochee Ski Lodge. It's 20 minutes to Cherokee and the Great Smoky Mountain Nat'l Park.

Getting Around

It is recommended to have your own vehicle. If you will be coming in the winter, 4WD or AWD is helpful. However, if we have heavy snow, you can park at the bottom of Summit. Let us know and we will help you up the 0.4 mile to the house.

Other Things to Note

We are biker friendly. We are 4/10 mile from the highway, and there is a bit of a climb, but bikes pass by our house all the time!

What made "Suite Escape" so amazing? Several things did...first let me start off with the host, they were nothing short of amazing. Every thought was put into welcoming us and our fur babies. Second, the place was so cozy and quaint. Thirdly, it was a good spot in driving to everywhere we wanted to sightsee. Our host recommended a few great places that we tried and loved. You cannot go wrong if you choose the "Suite Escape" as to where you stay in Maggie Valley, NC on your next adventure.

Cool Escape from FL in the Summer Heat. Felt like living in a tree house. 30 foot Private deck and private entrance give you lots of privacy. Owners couldn't be nicer or more gracious.Pet friendly a big plus for me.

Amazing Suite Escape

Second stay at Suite Escape and it was just as delightful as before! Spring time brings beautiful tree canopy and shaded landscape for coffee or meals on the deck. So enjoyable.

Mr Mel was a great host. The suite was not cleaned, spider webs, dirty floors,stains on mattress cover. The first night my wife cleaned everything up and got it right. The rest of the trip was great. Mr. Mel was not aware of the cleanliness of the suite,he pays for a house keeper to clean it . Mr Mel was very thankful we brought it to his attention.

Dewayne,I admit that there's always room for improvement, however, let's be honest. Your wife came & sat in our kitchen & admitted that she's OCD & a clean freak.She's been cleaning houses for the last 15 years. As to spider webs, was she looking behind furniture? As to stains on the mattress pad, you didn't mention that she replaced our sheets with her own. She also replaced our bathroom towels with her own. She stood on the bed & checked the top of the fan. The mornning that you left & before guest arrived in the afternoon we had to fumigate the Suite because she sprayed Lysol on the floors & moped them with a mop that she went out & purchased. Dewayne I suggest that no matter how spotless we cleaned the Suite on the day of your arrival she still would not have been satisfied. To our future VRBO guests: We have 5 guest books with wonderful comments from previous guests many commenting on how clean the Suite was. VRBO performance statistics show us with 127 -5 star reviews, 6 -4 star reviews & 3 -3 star reviews. Overall they rate us with 5 out of 5 for cleanliness. We'll let that speak for itself.

The location was great. If you have a hard time going up and down stairs this would rental would not be good for you. This space needs to be updated. the furniture had an odor to it and over all the place was just too cluttered for me and needed a good deep cleaning.

I truly regret that our Suite did not meet with your approval. I was surprised to read your review since you invited me to sit on the deck with your husband Walter & didn't mention any of the issues. You did mention your health challenges & I asked if the stairs were a problem. You left a nice note in our guestbook & again mentioned nothing. I know we can't please everyone. We're grateful for the many 5 star reviews on cleanliness & the comments written in our guestbook. To future guests: if a staircase with 14 steps is an issue let me know & we'll make different parking arrangements which will eliminate all stairs.

Mel and Lynda's place

This is a great space to stay at!! Locate on the side of a mountain in a peaceful, serene setting. Space was clean and comfortable with many extras and amenities. Communication was great as Mel met us upon arrival and explained all of the nuances of the space. We would love to stay there again.

Mel and Lynda moved from the Tampa Bay area in 2009 because we love the mountains and four beautiful seasons! We love meeting new people, and sharing our experience of the area with them. We own Mountain Spirit Wellness in Maggie Valley, so you have massage and yoga classes at your fingertips.
With 5 children between us, we enjoy traveling to visit family, and also parts of the world we've never seen.

Why they chose this property

The neighborhood is a forest and so peaceful. We loved the cathedral ceiling and windows on the main floor, and while inside the house, you don't see other houses - just wonderful nature!
It's also within 15 minutes of grocery shopping and other necessities, and only 30 minute drive to Asheville.

What makes this property unique

The deck is a special place to enjoy your morning coffee or an evening glass of wine - a great place to relax and hang out!
Suite Escape is off of the main road in Maggie Valley, so you are away from the traffic noise.
We supply water in the fridge, a variety of coffees and teas, creamers.
