About this property

Classic Adirondack Chalet on Moose River -Summer weekly rentals only Sat. to Sat

Located in the town of Old Forge, one block from Rt.28. We have a private dock for the property on the Middle Branch of the Moose River. Bring your own kayaks or canoe and tie them to our dock and paddle whenever you want. You can also rent them locally.

Our kitchen is fully equipped-even with most small appliances (coffee maker, toaster oven, crock pot, etc.) as well as a gas stove and oven, Full size refridgerator and freezer, dishwasher and a microwave oven. There is plenty of cupboard space stocked with dishes, pots and pans, utensils and all other kitchen essentials.

Tenants must bring their own sheets and towels. all pillows, blankets and bedspreads are provided.

Beautiful sunny dining area seats six.

Large living room with wood stove and 42' flat screen Hi-deph cable TV.

Sliders to large deck with gas grill and picnic table.

Deck overlooks yard and river. Flat grassy area perfect for croquet, badminton or bocce ball. Fire pit with chairs

Full bath with bathtub and shower

Master bedroom is on main level with queen size bed, good closet space.

Upper level has two bedrooms, one with full size bed and cable TV., other has twin beds.

Basement has washer and dryer.

Modern and clean. No pets and no smoking please.

Wireless internet on site

3 night minimum for Holiday weekends Spring and Fall

Wonderful Week in Old Forge

My family and I loved our stay at the Chalet! The location was a perfect mix of seclusion on the Moose River and convenience of being walking distance to all of the hot spots in Old Forge! The Chalet is a well built and maintained camp. I loved the outdoor areas where we enjoyed nature and the beautiful Moose River. I would definitely do it again.

Great experience at Old Forge cabin

The property was better than expected. Well stocked with supplies. Great view of the river. We even had a family of deer visit us daily. I would highly recommend renting this property .

New Year Get Away

The cabin was very cozy, and perfectly decorated for the Christmas season. The owner of the cabin, Claire Sci and her husband were very accommodating. I highly recommend this cabin.

The weekend was just amazing. Can't wait to go to the cabin in the summer to enjoy the river. The cabin has easy access to the trail system and close to town so you can either walk to the stores or drive.

Cabin is beautiful. location was surprisingly quiet considering its relative close location to town. Only complaint i had with the stay is the beds are extremely hard and need to be updated. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would rent this location again.

Great family vacation!

My family had a wonderful stay at the Sci Sci Chalet! Very comfortable with all the amenities we needed to keep 4 adults and one pre-teen happy. Location was amazing and we were able to walk almost everywhere we went. Highly recommend to anyone looking for something close to all of the action, but still quiet, quaint and with the Adirondack feel. We even had a family of deer that visited daily!

Family weekend

All of us ladies enjoyed our stay. Your chalet is very welcoming. It was an easy walk to Main street where we enjoyed shopping and eating. At night we sat outside by the campfire and had a doe walk through the back yard! We hope to return next year.

Beautifully located in Old Forge

During this trying year with the pandemic. This was a much needed getaway. Beautiful Chalet roomy & clean. Spectacular view right on the Moose River. We were close enough to walk to town yet felt like we were deep in the Adirondacks. We definitely will be back !!!

Cozy cabin on Moose River

Great property on the Moose River with walking distance to Old Forge shops and restaurants. We enjoyed the views, and fire pit overlooking the property. Deer casually roaming around the neighborhood. Great space for a girls trip. The cabin has everything we needed for our getaway. Highly recommend this place and even better if you bring your Kayaks. Great hikes very close by.

The Chalet was amazing! My family would definitely like to stay here again. Other reviews are very accurate. It was clean and provided sufficient space. The proximity to town was great! Not even a 5 minute walk to Route 28. The Moose River is in the backyard and my son and his friend were able to kayak and fish at any time. I highly recommend this charming chalet!

Old Forge cottage

The cottage met 95 % of my expectations. The cottage is immaculate!! Within walking distance of the village downtown and very quiet. Would like to rent the cottage again…it was a privilege. Had deer visit the cottage several times. Many decorative items inside the cottage most suited for adults and well disciplined kids. Our grandkids were told to respect the property and they did.

Perfect!

This rental was perfect in every way! The cottage was so clean. It was so cozy. The location is perfect! Walking distance to downtown Old Forge. Right in town, but yet, you feel like you are in a remote area. Beautiful large deck with plenty of seating, overlooking the Moose River. We were there for peak foliage time, so it was beautiful! Kitchen has everything you need. Beds were comfortable. Communication with the owner was spot on. Definitely, will be returning.

Best of Town and Woods in Old Forge

This cabin is a perfect blend of convenient location and natural setting. The cabin was an easy walk or bike to all the local things we wanted to do in Old Forge. Also the cabin felt "remote" in that the view out each window is of trees and the river. This is the best of both worlds. It was also clear from the moment we saw the cabin that not only is it well cared for, but that the caretaker is an artist, with a beautiful sense of color and placement. The cabin has all the amenities advertised and then some, there was not a thing lacking. But above and beyond this, the paintings, the furnishings, the charm of the home are much better experienced than described. We would recommend a stay here if possible.

PERFECT ADK CABIN STYLE HOME

This was a perfect home and very maintained. My family used the home for a snowmobile trip to Old Forge and it was walking distance coffee shops, restaurants, food etc. It is one block off of 28 in an ideal location and backs up to the River. Plenty of room to park our Surburan and multiple snowmobiles right out the front door. Very quit street and the neighbors were wonderful as well. The home had 2 twins and a double upstairs for the kids and my wife and I stayed on the 1st floor. The laundry is in the basement and house was bigger than we thought it was going to be. The home is decorated and has everything you would ever need to find. Claire was an wonderful host and we shared family pictures between us as we are all Red Heads :).

Cute cottage

Cute cottage, but you are required to bring linens (which I don’t believe is clearly stated in the listing) and there is no process in place for trash— unless you happen to be departing Friday morning, the host requires that you bring your trash with you or drop it at the transfer station. However, the host doesn’t even leave tags for the transfer station: you need to go to the town hall (closed on weekends). That process needs improvement.
