With spectacular views, gentle trade winds, and the twinkling lights of distant islands, Cloud Nine combines the comforts of traditional Caribbean architecture with casual elegance and creates a private, romantic and restful environment. At night after a beautiful sunset, the soft lighting and gentle trade winds create a seductive and tranquil ambiance.

Peaceful Enclave Close to Everything

Overall experience was excellent. Location is amazing and views are stunning. Wonderful vacation for our family of 5. House has a ton of space to spread out but we spent most of our family time on the expansive deck, in the pool, or in the hot tub. House has everything you need for cooking in and is very close to Shambles and Windmill bar if you want to go somewhere close for dinner. Cruz Bay and Starfish market are roughly 10 minutes away and it is 15 minutes to Colombo’s if you want a morning smoothie. Sunset from the deck is amazing and views of St Thomas and the nighttime sky are spectacular. We feel very fortunate to have stayed in such a wonderful place as a family. Linda and her family were very helpful from the check in process through our checkout. We hope to return to St John in the near future and will definitely be staying at Cloud 9.

March Vacation

We had a great time! We have been to St. John many times before and know the island well. Cloud Nine was precisely as advertised. The pool and hot tub were clean and worked well. The kitchen, living room and bedrooms were all great and well-appointed. And best of all, the view was breath-taking, most of all at sunset! The house served as a perfect oasis at the end of a long day in nature. The only drawback is the location. It is a 10-20 minute drive to the closest good beaches. But that fact was reflected in the reasonable rental rate. Highly recommended!

Excellent property

Communication was excellent with Linda and Ang, before, during, and after our stay. My husband and I and 3 adult children stayed, and had plenty of room and privacy when needed. The home was stocked with everything needed for our stay… we only had to get groceries! Thanks for a memorable stay in your beautiful home!

We are residents of St John and have lived on St John since 1990. We chose St John as our ideal home after exploring the Caribbean and Bahamas by sailboat. We manage Cloud Nine and Pebble Cove on East End ourselves and it is very important to us that our guests are pleased with the property. We love the views from the large courtyard deck, perfect for spectacular sunsets, rainbows in the rain, moonlit nights and wonderful stargazing from the hot tub. Every time we walk in the door we are still charmed by the view!

Why they chose this property

We wanted to offer this pleasure to our guests as well. We also love the relative coolness of this particular Gifft Hill location. The sun keeps the pool warm, but gentle breezes keep the house very comfortable year round. The courtyard opens to the view and offers plenty of privacy, a feature most guests highly value. Yes, you can swim, sunbathe or soak in the spa with no bathing suit.

What makes this property unique

A short drive to the beaches, close to town yet uniquely private. This is the perfect location from which to explore St. John. We love sitting on the deck under the stars or under the shade of the gazebo and watching the play of light and wind on the waters below. The sunsets and lights of St. Thomas are magical!
