About this property

Spacious home with POOL, private, safe.

Our newest home River House is now available (STR permit #2016056024). We are experienced Homeaway/VRBO owners and hosts . If you have a large group, you can also rent our home right next door at the Cumberland Cottage. (Homeaway.com property #3957610).
We use VRBO homes when we travel, so we understand first hand what is expected, and what is needed at vacation rentals. We know just what you’re looking for, and we bend over backwards to deliver it!

The River House is tucked away on a quiet waterfront street that is steeped in history, with several famous old school Opry Stars living nearby. It's private and safe here. There is very little car traffic so it's great for walking around or riding bikes. We see deer, geese and turkey regularly. It's a special neighborhood with friendly folks. Yet, it’s just minutes from the famous Gaylord Opryland Hotel, Opry Mills Mall and THE GRAND OLE OPRY. Within 4 miles there are over 2 dozen Restaurants & Nashville’s biggest Water Park. Downtown is only 15 minutes away, much closer than 95% of the waterfront homes in the greater Nashville Area. Two great golf courses are within 4 miles, uber and lyft are very familiar with the area, and traditional taxi service is not a problem.
Once you get here, you may not feel the need to leave. If you like to cook, you’ll find a well equipped kitchen, with all the pots, pans, and all small appliances of home. Outside on the deck there’s a gas grill ready for serious Bar-B-Q action.

Fresh, crispy linens are provided on each bed. White cotton towels are also provided.
Each morning you’ll enjoy your breakfast and complimentary coffee in the sun-filled dining room, or take a walk down the quiet lane and listen to the birds and the river.
During the day, Use the River House as your base of operations for exploring Nashville, or hang out in the POOL (open May 1 - October 15) and/or Hot tub! In the evening… enjoy the peace and quiet on two full-length front porches. When it’s time to turn in three of the bedrooms sports a king bed, the fourth bedroom features two queen beds. And, If you have a party of twelve, two deluxe inflatable twin mattresses are also available.

Other amenities include Washer & Dryer, Multiple HD TVs with Cable, Blu-Ray players, board games, and High-speed WiFi. All you need to bring is your clothes and your food. We provide coffee and some kitchen amenities. We go the extra mile for our guests and also provide eco-friendly bath soap, shampoo, and conditioner. When you arrive, we can provide a greeter to help you settle into the property, or just leave you the door code prior to your stay. Just let us know what you need and we'll do our best to make it happen.

The house was great. The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed. We especially enjoyed the pool and the hot tub. Great neighborhood - very quiet and peaceful. There were many mornings & evenings that we could sit on the front porch and watch the deer grazing in the yard.

Perfect Location

Quick family vacation for Christmas and this house was perfect! Plenty of sleeping space and bathrooms and convenient to Opry Mills, the Grand Ole Opry, and the Gaylord. The host provided timely communication and our stay was great!

Friends 40th birthday trip

Great house with ample space to gather OR get a little time alone. Clean, well-appointed and loved the quiet, beautiful setting with pool, multiple decks and a hot tub! Easy getting to downtown and peaceful when you were down with downtown. We had a great stay and would definitely recommend!

This is an excellent property to stay at with family or friends. It was clean and well maintained. The pool was an excellent bonus! A quick 15 minute drive to downtown was perfect. We would love to come back!

Great spot for girls trip

This was a great place to stay without being far from all the things to do in Nashville. Beautiful dead end street which felt safe. It’s not exactly river view as the trees block that view, but the front porch is great for sitting on and the house had everything we needed.

Great for Opryland and Downtown

Quiet rental with plenty of space. Porches were a nice retreat. Had our small dogs who enjoyed the yard and barking at the deer who frequented the property. We had a conference at Opryland and glad we stayed here over the crowds there. Nice place!

Had a great stay

Stay was great, location was perfect. As I saw in other reviews, the cleaning lady was there till 5:40 and our check-in was at 4, so we had a stranger wandering around as we were getting settled. She was nice and apologized for being there. The 2 king suites were very nice, the double room was nice as well but the king bed sharing a jack and jill bathroom needs a matteess, never slept on such an uncomfortable bed in my life. We bought a foam mattress topper just to make it a little better. Overall, great place, owner very easy to work with. Would stay here again.

Needs some updates

The host was amazing, but the pictures on the listing have to be from awhile ago. The pool needs quite a bit of work done, one side had a rusted out support structure. The deck area around the pool was very dirty and so was the outside furniture. The living room furniture was very uncomfortable and very old. We had a great time, the house did its purpose, but for the price it could use to be freshened up.

Nice house in nice neighborhood

Our group came out for an event and stayed at this property. It was really convenient to the Gaylord Resort where our event was being held. The house was spacious and had enough space for our party of 8. The pool / hot tub was a nice bonus. The kitchen was well stocked with plates/utensils etc. We had a great time!

Family trip to Nashville

Nice quiet residential location for a short multigenerational family vacation to Nashville that is not far from the Grand Ole Opry/Opry Mills and typically allowed us to get downtown within ~20 mins. John was very helpful and quick to reply to any questions.

Nashville vacation

We took a family vacation with some friends to Nashville. We stayed at John’s riverside VRBO and really enjoyed our time there. We found the VRBO to be very clean and as advertised. Our only issue was that we were not able to check in for almost 2 hours beyond our check-in time as the cleaning lady was running late. We would recommend this VRBO.

Communication with the property owner was quick and responsive. He took care of all our questions ahead of time and made sure we had everything we needed to not only stay there with 11 people and two dogs, but also celebrate Thanksgiving and a 13th birthday - which can require more than just your normal kitchen equipment. We had plenty of room and enjoyed our time there!

We arrive a few minutes before check in and the housekeeper was still there.Qe discovered that the all the rooms had not been vacuumed and bed linens not changed. Owner did give us a partial refund after we complained and he sent the cleaner back the following day. The red sofa in the living room has seen better days. The linens could also be updated. The house is large the kitchen and bathrooms are all updated. The pool is above ground with a deck built around it and we had to run the cleaner before using. There were corn hole games pro used and floaters for the pool. All in all it wasn't the best or the worst the space was great the cleaning and furniture could use some care.

The River House Nashville: Off-Season Race Family Stay

We had decided to have an Adult-only weekend in Nashville and rented this house. There were 5 families represented that enjoyed this stay and the local to-do's. The property is well-maintained and had the amenities noted in the listing from a fully stocked kitchen with spices and all cookware to toilet paper and towels. The Master bedroom/bathroom on the 1st floor was a dream! Everyone enjoyed a little seclusion after the nights out in downtown Nashville. The host was super responsive and accommodating from start to finish. We would recommend this property.
