SPRING MID-WEEK PROMO!
**** INQUIRE ABOUT APRIL & MAY MID-WEEK PROMOTION VALID THROUGH 5/29/26. BOOK TWO NIGHTS AND GET THIRD NIGHT FREE SUNDAY THRU THURSDAY **** Relax among the redwoods in your riverfront cottage with brick paver patio with porch swing, large deck with hot tub and private outdoor shower, fire pit area, bicycles, and private dock with five kayaks (four single and one double). Please note that the river may not be safe for kayaking in winter season due to swift currents. You are surrounded with lots of mature landscaping, flowers, majestic redwoods & fruit trees striking the perfect balance of sun and shade.
In the winter months, curl up with a good book near the fire in the wood stove while you wait for the rain to pass. On a sunny day, go for a bike ride with bikes provided across the historic foot bridge to Guerneville for an ice cream cone. In the afternoon, plan a visit to some local wineries using the many books and maps available. On another day, go for a hike in the redwoods at Armstrong Park or marvel at the waves on the Pacific shoreline at Goat Rock or Shell Beach. At the end of the day, breathe deeply and relax in the hot tub under the moon and stars. Then roast some marshmallows while sitting by the outdoor fire pit which is propane-fueled for ease of use and allowed on "Spare the Air" days.
The first thing you'll notice when you enter the house are the beautiful wide-plank wood floors and the view from the floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the river and trees creating a peaceful zen-like atmosphere.
The upstairs has two spacious bedrooms with Queen beds and new fluffy comforters. Both bedrooms have lots of windows and one has a deck overlooking the river. Please note there is no bathroom upstairs. There is a small bedroom downstairs with Twin bunk beds.
The main living areas and restroom are downstairs with an open floor plan. The living room has floor-to-ceiling windows on one end and a wood-burning stove on the other end. There is an adjoining dining room with seating for six people. The dining room opens out onto the brick paver patio with a large outdoor table, propane BBQ grill, porch swing and lovely views of the river.
The kitchen is well-stocked with all the essentials and more (cookware, coffee, tea, spices, olive oil, etc.), stainless steel refrigerator, smooth-top electric range, dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker & grinder, blender, toaster oven and waffle iron. There is an adjoining breakfast nook with pub table seating for four.
The bathroom is located downstairs and has a large vanity area and shower. It is well stocked with plenty of bath and beach/spa towels plus two hair dryers. There is a private outdoor shower with hot water under the redwood tree stocked with soap, shampoo and conditioner on the deck outside the bunk room. All the bedrooms have mirrors and outlets to make it easier for everyone to get ready at the same time.
The patio is equipped with a propane BBQ grill, table and seating for six, and porch swing for two. The adjoining deck has a hot tub for up to 5 people, and an outdoor shower. There are stairs off the deck down to the fire pit area with seating and a dock where the kayaks (two singles and one double) are tied up in the summer from late June to late September. In the off-season, the kayaks are stored on the property and can be launched from our dock depending upon river levels and currents.
Located in the heart of the Sonoma wine country, on the Russian River, this home is the perfect location to visit the many local wineries, go for a swim, kayak, explore the coast, hike in the redwoods, bike or just relax and do nothing but enjoy the river and watch the local wildlife.

The cleanest, most well stocked rental we have stayed in. Each level of the property is a whole new experience. The hot tub, the smores, watching wildlife on the lower dock. We saw fox and deer at dusk. So peaceful and relaxing. Highly recommend!
Suzi was a wonderful host and provided everything we needed for a relaxing getaway. Her home is in a beautiful location with River access. It was also a perfect location for visiting the Fungi Festival, Armstrong Redwoods, and champagne tasting at Korbel Cellars. We look forward to a return visit!
Such a comfortable home! Even on a rainy weekend we had such a great time hot tubbing and enjoying the view. So many great amenities for families too. The board games bikes were a highlight for sure!
Lovely property. Well appointed and well maintained. Great for a relaxing trip or one full of activities. Plenty to do at the house or in the surrounding area. Seamless arrival and departure with thorough pleasant communications from the host. Spent the week as a couple, but the house would be great if we had brought the kids. Highly recommend this place if you're looking to stay in this area.
We had a lovely stay at Zin and Zen! It’s so nice to just sit on the patio or in the hot tub looking down at the river. The house is charming and comfortable. It is very well appointed with everything you could possibly need inside and out. Very comfortable beds too! Great communication with Suzi. We heartily recommend this lovely house and will definitely stay here again.
Our family enjoyed a cozy winter weekend with a fire and s’mores. We also explored the coast and Armstrong State Park. We highly recommend this house with a great host!
My friends and I enjoyed our stay immensely! The house was darling, very clean and had all of the amenities. The kitchen was well stocked and we enjoyed several meals on the deck, surrounded by the lush vegetation. Another plus was the location, which was close to hiking at Armstrong Woods, river time at Johnson's Beach and downtown. The hosts were easy to contact and responsive to questions. I highly recommend this property.
We had a great time staying at this house. Lovely and cozy house. The kitchen had everything we needed, including a stash of kitchen essentials like cooking oil and spices. Hot tub was great at the end of the day.
We loved this house! Our small kids could play outside safely on the deck, take hot tubs and enjoy the amazing views! We will definitely be back in summer
The 4 Moms enjoyed a weekend away. Kitchen was well equipped and the hot tub was spacious. Quiet and no one to pick up after except ourselves. We enjoyed cooking, wine, and chatting. The perfect place. We will be back.
We enjoyed our mini getaway to Zin and Zen. The house is lovely, well-appointed and surrounded by trees which makes you feel like you are nestled in a forest. To enjoy the river we walked down the stairs to the dock and laid out some towels. From there we enjoyed watching the water and plentiful birds; we jumped in the river for swims and took the kayaks out for lovely paddles!
Beyond what I even hoped for!!! This place was beautiful! clean, nice decor, provided with everything you could possibly need! Bigger than I thought! Easy stairs to the river. The water was deep and clean, and the area was very secluded so there was no boats or lots of traffic. It was an excellent time!
Zin and Zen is seriously heaven on earth or heaven on the river! Even though it is in a dense neighborhood you feel like you are out in a lush forest alone. The tree canopy overhead, the river below, the beautiful home, the lush greenery, butterflies and birds galore…We can’t wait to go back!! Thank you so much for hosting this property and sharing it with us! Love Love Love 💚

Relax in the Redwoods
Zin and Zen is everything we were looking for. A clean, cute, exceptionally well equipped and maintained cottage located next to the Russian River. Next door to the ocean and wine county and in the middle of a redwood forest. It has cable television but we went the entire week without ever turning it on. Warm days, cool mornings and evenings made for a great family vacation..
We stayed at Zin and Zen for a guys weekend to relax and enjoy the Russian River. The house was fantastic with multiple levels or varying sun/shade and the dock by the river (with plenty of kayaks). The house was stocked with all the little things you forget to bring, and even had holders for corn on the cob. Owners were responsive and helpful with any questions we had. While we love trying out new houses along the river, we are all inclined to stay here again.
I have never done VRBO before. I used to go to a rental that no longer exists in town and luckily my wife found this house. It is gorgeous! Spacious, bunkbeds for the boys (5 and 11), the river is right there...it was great. The owner really was patient with me, communicated quickly and warmly, and made the entire process so comfortable. Easy to follow rules, close to town, quiet street, beautiful location. Thank you so very much!
Our family of 4 loved our stay at this house. The house was very clean and private. It was extremely well stocked with all of the towels, beach items, paper items, etc we needed.
We loved the huge picture windows looking out over the river and spent a lot of time in the hot tub. The outdoor space was wonderful and relaxing. The area is very quiet and cute. We enjoyed walking around the neighborhood and looking at all of the interesting houses. We also enjoyed exploring the beaches at each end of the road which are available in addition to the dock with the home. I would highly recommend this vacation rental.

About the host
Hosted by Suzi Krebs and David Crum
We are originally from the midwest (Suzi from Michigan and David from Pennsylvania) and now live in Berkeley. We wanted to find a place to unwind from the hectic city life but not be too far away. We feel blessed to have found the perfect place to relax only one and a half hours away from San Francisco. We enjoy hearing that our guests enjoy it as much as we do!
Why they chose this property
We have always enjoyed the wine country and chose this house because of its charm and location right on the river and proximity to wineries. The neighborhood is on a quiet street with little traffic. We like to take the kayaks out and watch the local wildlife up close and personal. We also like to hike at Armstrong redwood forest and the many coastal beaches. We are near enough to get to the coast easily and return quickly to the warm sunshine of Guerneville if the coast is foggy.
What makes this property unique
The views, the two beautiful redwood trees, the outdoor shower, hot tub, and being the only purple house on the river makes our house stand out! We like the quiet neighborhood and its proximity to lots of wineries, great hiking & biking! We enjoy the quaint little town of Guerneville with its many restaurants, 5 & 10 store, shops, and ice cream store.
