Your own private adults-only retreat with panoramic views of the Blue Ridge mountains and 3 miles of walking/nature trails. Open floor plan with fully equipped kitchen, and a welcome breakfast. King bed, comfortable living area, dining room, walk-in shower, satellite TV and free WIFI. Large patio area, gas grill, an outdoor fire pit, and a pond for fishing. Perfect for star-gazers, bird watchers and nature lovers.
Location is ideally situated between Bedford and Roanoke Virginia. Close to the D-Day Memorial, Blue Ridge Parkway, and Smith Mountain Lake.
Dogs are welcome with owner’s permission.

This was our second time staying at Shady Grove. We truly enjoy the quietness and being tucked away in this cabin. Its location alone would bring us back but the hosts add personal touches that go above and beyond making us & our pup feel welcomed.

What a perfectly pristine complete package this place is the pictures and descriptions don’t do it justice. Feels like the place is brand new. Refrigerator being stocked with the basic essentials and enough breakfast for the whole weekend and didn’t even finish was a huge bonus especially after driving from NY It truly is secluded with your own private road. No creepy neighbors no prying eyes what’s so ever very easy to locate it’s truly a wonderful experience the hostesses thinks of every detail to make sure you’re comfortable good location to hiking trails as well

This property was absolutely beautiful! So quiet and peaceful. The views of the vineyard were a wonderful feature. Our hosts spoiled us and our pup. The cabin was very cozy and relaxing. The outdoor area was great for grilling and sitting by the fire pit. 5 stars on everything.

Very impressed with the clean cabin. There was a lot of attention to details and supplies, i.e. shampoo, toothbrushes, robes, paper products, and kitchen supplies. And pet friendly, which was very important to us!

The hosts, Melissa & Phylis have put a lot of work into this adorable little cabin. It’s an amazing place to get away from the hubbub of every day life. So much wildlife and beautiful views. We just adore them for allowing dogs. Fergus knew where he was as soon as he got out of the car, and was begging us to go for walkies! (This was our second trip here!) Will definitely stay again! Thank you for everything you do for us renters!

This cabin was perfectly comfortable! Fresh, clean, well equipped, serene, and cared for by such thoughtful hosts. Dog friendly was a huge bonus for us and our pups loved it, also! With the hiking trails and pond on property, you never have to leave. We will definitely come back to this little slice of heaven!

Excellent location and cabin

We love staying here. The cabin is exceptionally clean which is very important to us. The location is excellent with easy access to Roanoke, Bedford, and the Blue Ridge Parkway. The cabin is well stocked, so that when guests arrive they are free with much of what they need for their stay.
