Easy access to the ski lodge. The kitchen was well stocked for all of our cooking needs. The hot tub is nicely located near the stream & fire pit. Overall a great stay!
My family and I stayed at Rippling Waters and had a wonderful experience. From check in to checkout. The communication with the property manager was exceptional. Property is beautiful and you have everything you need in one place. Definitely will be back!!!
Rippling Waters was well appointed, clean and very comfortable. The host was very thorough and communicative with providing information about our stay and responding to questions. The location is very convenient for getting to the slopes and easy to access. We would definitely stay here again if we have a chance.
The host was very quick to communicate. The house had all things we needed for the stay including a wonderful compendium and spices for cooking. They even had decorated the house for the holidays! The proximity to Timberline is so convenient also.
We had a fantastic stay at Rippling Waters, and would HIGHLY recommend.First off, Rita was an INCREDIBLE host. She is very responsive, and thoughtful and flexible to our needs. We have stayed in many rentals, and she is one of the best hosts we've dealt with.Second, the house itself was fantastic. Its a short five minute walk to the slopes, and it has ample space and an amazing hot tub in the woods that was hot and clean, and ready for us:)Its an older house, but it has everything you need and a great value overall. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Nice roomy cabin with everything we needed. There are lots of great outdoor activities in the area so we stayed busy but it was a great place to come back to and relax. I would stay here again.
Nice location. Awesome creek running right behind the cabin. The host accepted my dogs which is awesome because that can be hard to find. The house is more dated than it appears in the photos. It was clean & had the essentials. Overall a great place.
Everything was wonderful, the only inconvenience was hauling the trash out to a dumpster up the road a ways. We would definitely stay here again!

About the host
Hosted by Rita Cuppett
Originally from South Africa, I now proudly call the beautiful Canaan Valley, West Virginia my home. After a 25-year career in the travel industry, I’m living out my dream—hosting amazing properties across Canaan Valley, Davis, and Thomas.
What inspires me most is the incredible people I have the privilege to meet. I’m passionate about hospitality and committed to delighting every guest, every stay. Welcome to your perfect mountain escape!
Why they chose this property
Tucked away in the Allegheny Mountains of northeastern West Virginia, Canaan Valley is one of Appalachia’s best-kept secrets—a high mountain paradise where untamed wilderness, charming small towns, and four-season adventures converge.
At nearly 3,200 feet in elevation, Canaan Valley is the highest sizable valley east of the Rockies, offering cool summers, snowy winters, and breathtaking scenery year-round. Here, nature reigns supreme. The valley is home to Canaan Valley National Wildlife Refuge, the largest high-elevation wetland in the mid-Atlantic, as well as Blackwater Falls State Park, famous for its thundering amber-colored waterfalls and dramatic canyon views.
For outdoor enthusiasts, Canaan Valley is a playground. Hike or bike across more than 30 miles of scenic trails, paddle through still mountain waters, or birdwatch in one of the most ecologically diverse areas in the East. In winter, the valley transforms into a snowy wonderland, boasting two ski resorts—Timberline Mountain and Canaan Valley Resort, both beloved for their family-friendly slopes and laid-back atmosphere.
But Canaan Valley isn’t just about rugged adventures. Minutes from the valley floor, the artsy mountain towns of Davis and Thomas invite you to slow down. Sip craft coffee, browse quirky galleries and record shops, or catch live music at a local brewery. The region’s rich Appalachian culture is alive in its people, its music, and its storytelling.
Whether you're seeking outdoor thrills, tranquil solitude, or a cozy weekend escape, Canaan Valley offers an experience that feels refreshingly authentic—and utterly unforgettable.
Come for the views. Stay for the quiet magic of the mountains.
What makes this property unique
I know I should not have a favorite between all the amazing properties I represent, but Rippling Waters is close to my heart! The home is just beautiful, tranquil and a real retreat from the everyday hustle. Nestles in the mountain next to a gorgeous creek, Rippling waters is the perfect getaway any time of year. My absolute favorite feature is the hot tub that sits next to the creek! It is located in the slopeside community of Northface and walking distance from the Salamander slop and the Timberline Lodge.
