Cottage fully stocked with everything you need . Location is perfect with several beach access points steps to from cottage . Hosts are there for all your needs. Love this place
Can’t beat the location - quiet, private and close to great beaches. Owners were friendly and welcoming. Cottage was well-stocked and exceptionally clean. We loved our stay!
The vintage beach cottage was immaculately clean and had all updated kitchen appliances. The covered lanai and outdoor utility sink were great spots for us to wash and dry our wetsuits. We loved the outdoor shower. Lots of hot water! The cottage is spacious, and has one bedroom with a comfortable bed and another queen sized bed off of the living area. Lots of livable interior space. The front lanai is lovely and private for sitting outside.
This vintage cottage was the ideal place to be! Lovely home, clean, well-stocked, great amenities, communicative and friendly host, and most beautiful, relaxing, beach location on the island!
Absolutely loved our stay at the cottage. The host and hostess were especially gracious and allowed us to visit with their pet pigs. We would stay there again in a heartbeat.
We stayed 12 nights and absolutely loved it! Puako is a hidden gem on the Big Island. The house was so comfortable and quiet. We enjoyed waking up to the sound of the birds each morning, seeing all the geckos, and looking out for other wildlife (mongooses, wild pigs, etc). We were just a short walk from the ocean and tons of world class snorkeling. We also spent a lot of time at nearby Waialea Beach (also amazing). Literally no complaints, except we wished we could have stayed longer! Thank you David and Kim.
David was a lovely host and provided a generous welcome with tips on the local flora. The house is simple in the best way - utterly relaxing and with all you need. The location is spectacular for snorkeling because you can walk to the best spots and shower in the outdoor shower after. The cottage is charming with thoughtful updates (AC) and is impeccably maintained.
Great location, amazing hosts. Several beach access spots within a 5 min walk. House is great, plus you have a lanai in back and front deck is surrounded by a beautiful garden. Enjoy
The property is beautiful and fully stocked. The place is even cleaner and nicer in person than we expected from the posting. The AC is solid, which is nice considering how humid HI can be.Dave was also great, he gave us a tour on check in. He pointed out the lovely fruit-bearing and flowering plants in the yard.We were also close to a public beach access where we could watch the sunset and see fish, crabs, and honu (sea turtles) (see beach photos).Would absolutely come back!
Everything about the house and hosts were just the best of the many places we've stayed. We didn't want to leave. They do a great job, and the kitchen is great for cooking, the location beautiful, and on and on. It is a special placeWe are seniors, and it was a comfortable place for us, and the ocean and wildlife were magical there. .
David’s place was perfect for our stay in Puako!
It was very clean, comfortable, cozy, quite and private. We loved our stay here and look forward to coming back someday! Mahalo!

Why they chose this property
It's just that Puako is such a rare and special place and to have a chance to Live Work and Play in this area for many years now, We count our blessings, Mahalo David & Kim
What makes this property unique
Other than LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION, I would say;The fact that the property had an original !940's Beach cottage which was worth saving and we wanted to continue giving folks a chance to enjoy this incredible area and in the style of an earlier Hawaii that helped to make this a special choice for us Mahalo David & Kim
