About the host
Hosted by John Chao
I’m John, I’ve lived in Vista since 2013. I’m Southern CA native and lived in the San Diego region since 2003. I enjoy the outdoors, the beach and hiking with my dog Max. Max is a friendly Belgian Malinois and is always with me.
I was a host back in 2012 -2013 in Carlsbad, CA footsteps away from the beach. What I enjoyed about being a host was meeting the vast array of great guests from all over and making their stay as comfortable and home to them.
Why they chose this property
I love the rural and nature area of where I live in the city of Vista, the surrounding trees, hills and unique homes nestled within these hills, and also the diverse wildlife that thrive in the area.
What I appreciate the most when describing the area is that there is just a quiet and tranquil feel whenever I want to sit and relax in the backyard whether in the morning having some coffee or during the evening. Hearing the trees and leaves rustling gently by a light breeze or the sounds of birds and their chirping.
What makes this property unique
I feel my home is unique as it was designed and custom built located on a hilltop surrounded by large embedded granite in 1976 as a Spanish Villa style along with Southwestern features like the Kiva fireplace in the living room and Saltillo tiles in the courtyard.
