The cottage was perfect. It had everything to make our stay enjoyable. The location was amazing. We enjoyed sitting on the porch in the rocking chairs, and watching the wild bunnies play. Breakfast was a nice touch, and very much appreciated. We would love to stay again!
Our stay was wonderful. We enjoyed everything; very clean, neat and had anything we could need. The communication was good. We enjoyed the breakfast and snack items and the fire pit and front porch…highly recommend.
Couldn't have asked for a better experience! The hospitality, the accomodations, the cleanliness, all in a place that one can ground themselves. Take a nice little hike, look at the night sky the way it should be seen then curl up in a nice little cabin with all the amenities.
We had a terrific time! We enjoyed everything from the trails, pigs, and chickens to the breakfast jam, eggs, and sausage. Check-in was effortless, as was communication with the owners. Two thumbs up in all respects!
The host was so accommodating and nice and does so much for their guest!! We really enjoyed all the fresh farm ingredients left for us and the property was gorgeous and well maintained! The little cottage was just the best and we really enjoyed the short stay. Next time we’re coming to Romney, this will be our place!
This house was phenomenal and I highly recommend a stay here. The location was relaxing and peaceful, they have trails for short hikes around their property which is surrounded by beautiful rolling hills and farmland. The house itself had everything we needed and even some surprises like fresh bread, butter and homemade jam and a fridge/freezer stocked w items from their farm. It was perfect for our day trip on the Potomac Eagle railway. Thank you, Laura!
This we my first VRBO experience and it was excellent. I run a nonprofit and i was in the area doing work for that nonprofit so my budget is low. Unfortunately there's not a lot of choices in the area without driving 45 minutes in any direction. This was cheaper than the local hotel and I got to save money by cooking instead of eating at a restaurant all while supporting small local people. Sadly because I was in the area for business I truly did not get to enjoy this cottage as much as I would have wanted to but we will be back for a pleasure trip in the next few months. Everything was wonderful. My only complaint was the owners knew we were coming but the heat was turned off in the cottage. I have neurpathy in my feet and severe arthritis and combined with the ceramic flooring it was very uncomfortable until it warned up. I had to sit in my truck in the heat until then. But EVERYTHING else was beyond excellent.
This is an extremely well maintained property in a peaceful setting that is perfect for those who enjoy being in the country. The kitchen was well stocked with necessary items for cooking, and the walking trails are absolutely beautiful! Check in was extremely easy, and the hosts responded quickly to messages. We really enjoyed our stay and appreciated the hospitality!
We had a lovely three night stay at this property. Laura and Ryan are excellent hosts! The kitchen was very well appointed with many thoughtful touches that you don’t often get at many rental units. Highly recommend!
Wonderful location and overall condition of the property…too bad can’t direct the weather . Great to have snacks and breakfast ingredients included; fresh eggs, sausage, bread, milk/cream, butter, jam, coffee/tea…all so yummy. The fire pit great too. Peaceful location, good stay.
This was a great place! Everything needed and then some was provided. The setting was wonderful, and the breakfast that was provided was a bonus! I highly recommend this spot!
Hi! We are Laura and Ryan! We moved to the country seeking a lifestyle where we could connect more with nature and have a hobby farm. We built this cottage so that family would have a comfortable place to stay and so that our guests to enjoy the beauty of this area.
Why they chose this property

In town you will find restaurants and cafes, a grocery store, and activities such as the art co-op, boutique shops, the South Branch River for kayaking/fishing, and the Potomac Eagle Scenic Railroad.
What makes this property unique
When you stay at our cottage, you will have access to 15 acres of field trails, our garden, and our chickens. We also raise pigs in the spring and summer and they love having visitors and being fed food scraps. We provide complimentary farm products (as available) for you to enjoy for breakfast such as eggs from our chickens, jam from our berries, sausage from our pigs, and a fresh made loaf of bread. We also have other cuts of pork and eggs available for purchase. Sit on the porch and enjoy the view while observing wildlife and birds, or have a campfire in the evening and view the stars free of light pollution.
