Very clean/cozy. Unfortunately, we were there on business and did not get to enjoy the amenities such as the kayaks, fire pit, etc. I would recommend this for a small family/friends' stay. The host's communication was clear and prompt.
We stayed here for 7 days: 4 adults, 2 children, and a dog. We had some initial hiccups about which unit we would be renting, but we worked closely with our host and got it sorted! We were there during the height of bad air quality (smoke from Canada), but we were fine inside until the air cleared up. (Some of the windows are hard to open/close.) There was a free-standing AC unit in the living room, which, in addition to ceiling and room fans, did well in cooling the house. The house was as described. The kitchen and bathrooms were well equipped. Access to Lake Martin was awesome! The hosts provided 2 kayaks. The maintenance team (cleaner and maintainer) was terrific. When we notified our host about a wet carpet from the previous guest, they arrived within the hour! Our stay was comfy and enjoyable. Our dog, our grandkids, and the adults had a great time swimming/boating in the lake.
Incredible lake- honestly even better than the pictures depicted. Calm, excellent fishing, and kayaks available for increased access and enjoyment. This property is pet friendly which was excellent for us but could be irritating to others (there was a neighbor whose dog started barking at 6AM and didn’t stop, we were able to excuse it because we brought our dogs/ are dog people but it’s a good heads up for those who aren’t). Cute downtown a short drive away. There were a handful of things that were awry: a broken screen door off its track and unable to be secured, a broken patio umbrella that needed Jerry-rigging, outdoor chairs that were used to the point of uncomfortable sagging. However, don’t let the few negatives dissuade you from staying here. It was clean, well-stocked with dishware and kitchen appliances, and spacious enough to sleep our blended family. We’d stay here again.
I would have easily given a 5 star review on this property as it was very comfy and our stay was enjoyable but there was very few cleaning supplies and vacuum did not work. No screen on the patio door when we arrived. Two windows would not close. I don't like to leave a place without having the ability to clean up after ourselves.
I love traveling the world and have been to over 40 countries and 45 states. I enjoy exploring new foods, cultures, and sites. During my spare time I like to play board games, spend time playing with my pets, and catching up on the latest TV shows. Providing a space for people traveling is why I enjoy being a host as a great experience creates lasting memories.
