About this property

Historic Palazzo, Central Location, 1 bedrooms retreat

Stay in a historic Palazzo di Belle Arti on Via dei Bardi, one of Florence’s uniquely beautiful and walkable streets. This newly renovated ground-floor home offers the rare combination of historic character, peaceful energy, and everyday convenience, just moments from Ponte Vecchio, Palazzo Pitti, Boboli Gardens, and Giardino Bardini.

From the moment you arrive, the space feels calm and welcoming. A private entrance and self check-in make arrival easy, while the ground-floor layout means no stairs and no carrying luggage through narrow historic stairwells. Inside, vaulted ceilings, traditional wooden beams, and warm terracotta floors create an authentic Florentine atmosphere that feels both elegant and comfortable.

The apartment has an inviting layout designed for restful stays. The master bedroom faces the sidewalk and the Bardini garden wall. The second bedroom overlooks the internal enclosed courtyard, bringing in natural light that also reaches the third bedroom. The result is a home that feels private, grounded, and easy to settle into after a day exploring the city.

This is the kind of place that lets you experience Florence at a different pace. Step outside into the beauty of the historic center, spend your day among gardens, museums, river walks, and local restaurants, then return to a home that feels quiet, restorative, and distinctly Tuscan.

Guests have exclusive access to the entire apartment and all of its amenities. Public transportation is nearby, and parking options are available close to the property along with a supermarket.

Ideal for couples, families, and longer stays, this home offers a memorable Florence experience with charm, comfort, and an exceptional location.

Great location! The other side of the river was quieter, but still not too far from the tourist attractions. We walked everywhere. There were some great restaurants nearby. The apartment was spacious, the wifi worked well. We used the washer/dryer successfully. Our host was responsive.

A quiet location on my steps away from the Centro storico...very easy to access...city transportation on the corner...it was wonderful to be able to cross a bridge, either Ponte Grazie or Ponte Vecchio and within a 10 minute walk all of the iconic spots were reachable. Luca was accessible at all times to answer questions that arose. I would 100% stay there again. The apartment was comfortable and clean and quiet and spacious.

I lived and worked across Europe and the United States, but Florence has always held a special place in my heart. I am passionate about culture, architecture, and the beauty of everyday life in Italy. Hosting lets me share that love with travelers from around the world.

When I am not working in finance and operations, I enjoy hiking, exploring nature, and reading history and philosophy. I believe where you stay can shape your trip, so I aim to offer a peaceful, beautiful, and truly local home base while you discover Florence.

I take pride in a space that reflects comfort and heritage. Whether it is your first visit or a return to the Renaissance, I hope you feel welcome, cared for, and inspired.

Your experience matters to me. I am available if you need recommendations or support, and I always respect your privacy.

Why they chose this property

I chose Via dei Bardi because it offers the best of Florence in one place: history on your doorstep, quiet evenings, and everything within a short walk. Set along the Arno in the Oltrarno district, the street feels authentically Florentine. You are moments from the Ponte Vecchio, close to Palazzo Pitti and the Boboli Gardens, and just across the river from the Uffizi and the Duomo.

What I enjoy most is the daily rhythm here. Mornings begin with river walks, church bells, and a quick espresso at a family-run café. During the day you can browse artisan workshops, small galleries, and neighborhood food markets, then slip back to a calm street for a rest. Evenings bring excellent trattorie and wine bars, lively yet relaxed, with the added benefit of returning to a peaceful home base.

The area is highly walkable and well connected by public transport and taxis, which makes arrival and day trips straightforward. If you are driving, there are several secure garages nearby. Above all, this neighborhood lets guests experience real Florence, close to the landmarks yet grounded in local life.

What makes this property unique

The apartment sits in a Historic Residence in the heart of Florence, yet it is on the ground floor with a private entrance and self check-in, so arrival is simple. Bedrooms face an enclosed private courtyard, which keeps the space calm and quiet even though you are steps from Ponte Vecchio, Palazzo Pitti, and the Boboli Gardens. Inside, high traditional ceilings and warm terracotta floors create an authentic Tuscan atmosphere, while the recent renovation adds modern comfort. The location in the Oltrarno puts you among artisan workshops, cafés, and local trattorie, with public transport and nearby parking options for drivers. It is a rare mix of historic character, privacy, and walk-everywhere convenience.
