There’s great hunting opportunities for both elk and deer in unit 67. Lots of big game have been veied from the front porch. Big buck deer, Herds of elk, antelope and even moose. Since The roads can be rough at times, a vehicle with some clearance is recommended. If the roads are too wet, they could be impassable. If so, I’ll communicate as to what we will do. If you're looking for a secluded place to enjoy peace and quiet, this is the cabin. We saw a lot of wildlife, enjoyed the scenery and had every comfort of home at the cabin. Michael and Shawna are friendly owners who will make sure your questions are answered and their place is ready for you. Will stay again when we are in the area.

We really enjoyed having Kate stay at our cabin. They left the house clean and respected our house as a guest. They treated it like it was theirs.
Thank you. Look forward to seeing you again.
We stayed here during our hunting trip and could not have been more pleased with everything this cabin had to offer. Michael and Shawna were gracious hosts and made sure we had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. The wildlife and scenic views were phenomenal, and we were even able to catch a glimpse of the Northern Lights during out stay. It was a cozy cabin feel, but more than enough room for all of us to spread out and have our own space. We will absolutely stay here again in the future.

Ashley and her family were fun to get to know. They were very respectful and kept the house clean.
I look forward for seeing and hosting them again.
Thank you
After being a family of 6 in cramped hotel rooms, this off the grid cabin was perfect to relax. Multiple board games for kids, satellite tv, and wifi were an unexpected surprise. Wake up with dozens of hummingbirds out your window and multiple binoculars and an "observation deck" to watch the wildlife and distant thunderstorms

About the host
Hosted by Michael Chiappini
Hello. I’m Michael. I grew up in Florida. I first came to Gunnison in 1981 and knew I wanted to live here then. I moved here in 1993 and this is my home. I work at the assisted living facility in Gunnison. My favorite job ever. I enjoy getting to know each resident and being there for support and a friend to talk and laugh with. My wife and I enjoy playing in the outdoors like hiking, snowboarding, snowshoeing camping, fishing and hunting with my son. I enjoy seeing live music and volunteering at the Gunnison Arts Center.
Why they chose this property
This is the best neighborhood ever you can’t see any human neighbors. Only animals like deer, elk, birds and chipmunks. Good neighbors.
What makes this property unique
My property is unique because of the secluded location that makes it such a great place for a retreat and for exploring the public land near by. 360* views make hanging out on the porch relaxing and time goes by way too fast when you’re having fun.
