South Platte River Haven

An updated, bright, and open house within walking distance to the S. Platte River, with year-round fishing and seasonal floating or swimming. It’s ideal for families, couples, or solo travelers with high-speed WiFi, a full kitchen, and washer/dryer. Watch for local wildlife deer, foxes, elk and sometimes a bear or moose wandering nearby. This peaceful retreat has everything you need to enjoy nature or stay connected, perfect for unwinding or adventuring.

Head to Deckers (6.5miles) for gear and guides from Flies N Lies to the Gold Metal fly fishing on the South Platte River. Or load up the inner tubes and paddle boards and drive 5 miles up the road to the SPR Parking Area for a float down the river. National Forest is directly across the driveway to the east, with deer elk and wild turkeys for the public land hunter (see https://cpw.state.co.us/hunting for state Regs)

The cabin was very comfortable to stay in. Both bedrooms were very nice and it was great to have two full bathrooms. The deck was also very nice to relax on with a great view of the mountains.

A little bit of paradise!

First, let me say the drive from Woodland Park, CO. (approx 20 miles ) is incredibly beautiful. Lots of curves, but streams and rock formations galore. There is an amazing river that is in walking distance to the cabin. The cabin was also a surprise. I have rented from vrbo for many years and have never found such a well stocked rental. It lacked for nothing. The cabin was very well designed, and we loved the large picture window. Hummingbirds checked us out each time we went out on the deck. We also had a very beautiful fox visit daily. Aaron was the nicest owner I have encountered. Not that others weren't, but he was exceptional. He always responded within minutes of a text. I accidently left my game camera on a post. He retrieved it and mailed it to me. I would have stayed for a month if I could have. It is peaceful, quiet, and just beautiful. I would love to add photos, but my drive crashed, and still trying to get back to normal. Hopefully soon. All of you who loves solitude, this is it!
