Wow, we had a fantastic stay at Domus Claudie. The host was very friendly, made check in and out easy, and truly made us feel at home. The apartment is in a fantastic location, with easy walking to Trastevere restaurants, the Vatican, and much more. Easy to catch a bus from here also. The apartment was clean, and the air conditioning worked well (which we appreciated tremendously). We will certainly be telling our friends about this rental.

From the moment I booked the property to the moment we reluctantly checked out, the host was super responsive to inquiries and thorough in walking us through the process of navigating our first stay in Rome. The property is conveniently located near many sights, allowing us to walk to our destinations. If needed, the property is situated in an area that is served by multiple bus lines, train (nearby) and a taxi stop just down the street. The proximity to Trastevere was a huge plus provided a great place for lunch, dinner and lively nightlife. Would book again.

A video was provided with instructions to enter the apartment and the general information, which was very helpful. The apartment is up a road that is a hill with a lot of steps. We were grateful we only carried our suitcases once up and down! The location was perfect - close to the Vatican and Trastevere. We walked everywhere and loved the access. It was nice to be in a quieter neighborhood. The apartment was lovely! There were a couple issues with the toilet constantly running, but Sara arranged for someone to come fix it while we were out exploring. The air conditioning was awesome and so needed after the HOT August days.Roma was magical and we were very happy to have a beautiful home base.

We like to walk, this was a great stay in the city. I took a mosaic class a few blocks away and our last dinner inn the area was at Osteria Con Cucina, very tasty. Two small outside flight of stairs to the entrance of the apartment was like climbing a small hill with our bikes. The host was delightful and available if needed.

Was a cozy rustic place, just couldn't get the heat to work, but it was comfortable. Alot of nice Italian restaurants in the area, and located in the middle of most of rhe attractions.

Convenient location. Walking distance from Vatican. Bus stops near by to access many sites. Clean apartment with enough amenities for the stay. The AC was nice for afternoons and evenings when we came back from long days out visiting sites.

I couldn’t have been happier with this apartment. The location was perfect, being close to the bus station and train station were super helpful. The AC worked great and despite the warning about hot water, we never ran out and were always able to shower comfortably. Thank you guys so much! We will be back.

Lovely apartment, very well located

Hidden from the crowds of Rome is a lovely apartment inside and out. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Interior is bright and the murals make the space seem even larger. The location allowed us to walk everywhere, and even come back for a break between jaunts. Only thing to watch is that hot water capacity is limited, so either take very short showers (or take the first one).

Ciao Dennis, I'm glad that you had a enjoyed your stay in Rome. Hot water works by electricity.. so when the hot water runs out, comes again after 45 minutes. Hope to host you again in the future. A presto, Emanuele

Not suitable for more than 2

The apartment is in a great location. We booked it because it could sleep more than 2; however, the sofa bed was terrible for sleeping--lumpy and not level. Great for 2 but not more.

Relaxing in Rome

The property was great . . . very central location for both sight-seeing and dining. Updated, nice, clean and spacious accommodations. Communication with Emanuele (property manager) was very easy; he was always responsive providing us valuable information, in particular regarding transit to and from the apartment, including arranging for our transport to the airport for our departure. We highly recommend this apartment and would stay here again.

Nice apartment in perfect location

We very much enjoyed staying at Domus Claudiae, a uniquely decorated apartment with very Roman-like paintings. We easily could explore the whole of the city center and its many features on foot from its perfect location. The owners were always willing to assist with our queries. One caveat, though: accessing the apartment would be difficult for physically impaired guests.

Overall, a good stay. Nice host.

The apartment was comfortable and very pretty.Excellent mattress! The had-painted murals were a great touch.Very ample storage for clothing.....There are two sets of exterior stairs to walk up to the building. We are "seniors"; and my girlfriend packed heavy. Getting the luggage to the apartment was not easy. The surroundings were quiet; but in retrospect I might have chosen something closer to the heart of Trestavere. The walk to the restaurants....was a bit long. We spent a good amount of money on Ubers. Would have preferred to spend more on the rooms.

NO HOT WATER!!!!

This was a beautiful small little apartment in a good location, but there was no hot water for showering, not even warm water, The boiler is electric. It would not fill up or get warm. We had a terrible experience because of this. I would have given this a great review because the art is gorgeous, and the bed was comfy, but having to take cold showers is awful. The host did not respond to help us out either. terrible customer service.

Dear Brittany, I'm truly sorry for what happened. VRBO experienced a technical issue that lasted about a week, during which we didn’t receive any notifications for incoming messages. Unfortunately, this coincided with your stay in Rome, so we were not alerted to your request for assistance. I’ve just now seen your message on our dashboard. That said, we do provide a 24/7 emergency number for our guests — this service is handled directly by us (not by a chatbot), and we’re able to step in on-site if necessary. I'm sorry your experience wasn't as smooth as it should have been. The issue with the boiler has since been resolved. All the best, Emanuele

Great Location

This was a great location for access to Trestevere, the Vatican, and all of the landmarks in Rome center. Entering the premises can be a little difficult if you have heavy bags because the exterior door is located up about 20 stone steps, and the entry does not include a landing area. So you open the door while standing on steps and then enter the building. It can be a little tricky so be careful. The apartment was accurately described in the listing. The apartment is very comfortable including a nice seating area with a sofa and comfortable chair. The view out of the window is very nice if the neighbour's garden is in bloom which it was for us in May. The owner is very responsive and arranged excellent transportation from and to FCO. They also offered tours which we declined. The only real negative is the shower situation. The water heater is very small. Two people can take a very brief shower running the water only to rinse. You then have to wait an hour for additional hot water. We didn't come to Rome for the showers, so we managed. It was not a big deal. We very much enjoyed our stay here and would stay here again.

It was a perfect location for seeing Vatican City and exploring many of the sites in Rome. There is a nice pasta restaurant just around the corner, and a tiny grocery store. The bed was comfortable and there was plenty of room in the rest of the condo. The courtyard just outside the condo gives you an extra layer of privacy and security.
