This beautiful apartment is located in Barrio de Salamanca, Madrid’s most upscale neighborhood. The two bedroom apartment is on the 9th floor with lots of light and sunshine. This apartment is unique because all rooms are exterior-facing, with a balcony/terrace and unobstructed views of Madrid. In a big city most of small apartments are dark and facing an interior patio, but not mine! The terrace, full of flowers, runs along the entire length of the apartment and is a perfect place to enjoy your coffee in the morning, or a drink and conversation any time of day or night.
The building has two entrances to two different streets. The front entrance has greenery that leads up to the spacious lobby where the doorman’s reception area is located. At this front entrance in the same building as the apartment, are various restaurants. According to Vogue magazine, the new restaurant attached to the building is the new place in Madrid “to see and be seen”. Also in the building’s front entrance is one of the best seafood restaurants in town, and additionally, more casual dining next to it in a new tapas bar/restaurant offering breakfast, lunch and dinner. All of them offer big and pleasant outdoor terraces. In the front of the building you can also find a fitness center, dry cleaners, art gallery and office supply shop. You don’t need to go very far to enjoy all the amenities the building has to offer!
The back entrance is amidst a lovely park with swings and slides for the enjoyment of children, and more bars and coffee shops to relax for adults.
On the same street, within a block’s radius you will find a deli, fruit/vegetable stores, bakery, butcher/fish market, flower shop and boutiques. The perpendicular streets are also filled with additional terraces where you can enjoy food, and drink until late hours of the night, or as Spaniards would have it, early hours of the morning. This is especially true in late spring through the fall, weather permitting.
The building has three doormen covering shifts from 7AM until 10PM at night including week-ends. It has 2 elevators plus 2 service lifts. The whole building is wheelchair accessible. The neighborhood is friendly and safe, and you will see people walking or enjoying what the outdoor establishments have to offer until very late. You will be in the midst of Spanish day and night life!
The location is ideally communicated with at least 5 or 6 metro lines and buses to take you all around Madrid and surroundings. The metro (subway) connect with the two major train stations North and South where you can go in the high speed AVE train to any city in Spain and beyond. The taxi fare is not more than 6 or 7 Euros to Atocha train station but you can take bus Number 26 two blocks from the apartment. The Bus Terminal or Intercambiador is 5/10 walk.
The apartment is surrounded by four major hospitals which makes it very convenient for families coming for medical reasons. Most of the embassies are located in Barrio de Salamanca including the American Embassy, Italian, Swiss, and Belgium among others, all walking distance from the apartment. Deusto Business School (Universidad Deusto), and the Fundacion Juan March Art Museum, Concert and Shows Avenue is also a 5/10 minutes stroll from the apartment. IE Business School is also close by.

The chaise opens for storage and is where you would find all the linens and pillow to make the sofa bed. There is a 42” cable TV with International channels where you can enjoy movies in OV (the original language), as well as dining table and chairs. In the furniture above the TV you would find a glass pitcher, wine and champagne glasses. A box with sewing supplies is also in the next upper drawer. In a drawer below there are place mats and a table cloth as well as house instructions and places I recommend around the apartment. There is an AC unit and a ceiling fan.
The bedrooms and bathroom can be closed off with a door, for privacy and to minimize noise. Both bedrooms have wall to wall fitted wardrobes with plenty of space for storage.
The Master Bedroom has two twin beds 90x200. These can easily be converted into a King sized bed for a couple by simply adding a special kit I provide for you by request. All linens, blankets, pillows, bedspread and in winter duvets are provided. There are two night stands and two wall light fixtures. One of the closets has drawers and the other shelves and a shoe rack. In this closet you would find extra linens, pillows and blankets. There is an AC and a large double paneled window that open to the terrace.
The second Bedroom has a daybed with a popup trundle. Both are 90x1,90. There is also a desk, so this room can also work as an office space and I provide a printer/scanner. There is a light fixture above the bed with a reading light in case you feel like doing a little reading before going to sleep. There is another light over the desk. The closet has plenty of drawers and two spaces above the closet for your suitcases. There is a ceiling fan and a large double paneled window that opens to the terrace.
The entire apartment is equipped with fiber optic Wifi and TV. Central heating and hot water
The bathroom has just been fully renovated with a walk-in shower, new vanity/sink, mirror, light fixtures and a wall cabinet that together with the big two drawers in the vanity gives you plenty of storage. There is also plenty of space to hang your towels, which I provide (a set of shower, hand and wash cloth per person). In the bathroom you will find a hair dryer, magnifying mirror, toilet paper, tissue paper, shower gel, shampoo and body lotion.
The balcony /terrace is the best part of the apartment, especially if you visit from spring to late fall. It’s full of flowers and sunshine to enjoy during the day, and festive, cozy lights at night to enjoy drinks and conversation. It has a two sofa seater and two big arm chairs and coffee table. A remote controls the lights above the wood ceiling and LED lights on the side and wire along the length of the balcony. You even have a little bird that can sing for you if you decide to turn it on. The sofa and chairs are upholstered with bright colors and a lively print of flowers and Mexican painter, Frida Khalo, since the theme of my apartment celebrates female painters.
There is NO NEED FOR A CAR while you are at the apartment but if you have one please let me know so I CAN ARRANGE FOR PARKING in the building for a much better price than public parking.
This apartment has been in my family for many decades, and we have enjoyed many memorable times together with family and friends. I hope it can be your home away from home and enjoy it whether you’re single or with family!
About Barrio de Salamanca
SALAMANCA is Madrid’s most upscale neighborhood. Let’s call it Madrid’s “Upper East Side” with the best restaurants, all the designer’s shops in the Golden Mile (Ortega y Gasset, Velazques, Claudio Coello and Serrano Streets) which is a 5/10 minutes’ walk from the house, lounge bars and all that you can need! It is also a very traditional neighborhood of Madrid, where you can still feel how Madrid was years ago. However, chick nightclubs and lounges aside, you will also be pleasantly surprised to find many hidden gems. After all, Salamanca is a neighborhood where people live in, and they too have mom and pop shops and friendly bars.
Many professionals coming to Madrid choose Salamanca as it is authentic, very secure, well connected to the city center and to Madrid’s business district, full of bars, restaurants, art and architecture, and that the quality of the housing and of the streets is really superior to the kind of housing quality you can find in the city center.
