About the host
Hosted by Sean
Hello there!
I am a Detroit native, who has spent the majority of his adult life in the fertile lands of the Pacific Northwest (Seattle, Portland and Olympia).
After a lucrative career in Seattle running a music festival and working as a music supervisor/creative director, I traded in the rain for Southern California.
Outside of music and travel, I am an avid outdoorsman, film aficionado, writer, reader, photographer and connoisseur of fine food and culture in general.
In recent years I've developed a deep appreciation for yoga and mindfulness. I firmly believe that without a healthy mind/body balance it is impossible to achieve inner or outer peace in the world.
Regardless of whether it is an experience, idea, place, book, film, song, or restaurant; I love to share. If anything, I am overly passionate about those people, places and things that I hold dear to my heart.
That about sums it up. Hopefully our paths cross in the not too distant future.

Why they chose this property
After living in the Pacific Northwest for 20 years, I decided to trade in the rain for sunny Southern California in 2015. I met me wife to be working for Red Bull corporate in Santa Monica in 2016 and we purchased a home together in Los Angeles in 2018.
In 2020 at the peak of the pandemic, we were both given the option to work remotely (indefinitely), which allowed us to reconsider where we lived. We made the decision to purchase the home in Joshua Tree based on it's proximity to Los Angeles (we still own our home there) and because it offers some of the most stunning natural landscapes in the world (we have always adored the Joshua Tree National Park, which happened to be the last trip we had taken before the pandemic shut down travel). In addition to the park, there are dozens of restaurants, shops, parks, museums, venues and attractions that make the Hi-Desert one of the most unique and attractive places in the world.
Since moving to Joshua Tree in 2020, I have become an expert on all that the Hi-Desert has to offer and look forward to sharing my expertise with you. Our neighborhood in particular is ideally located for those looking to explore both the Joshua Tree National Park or the local restaurants, shops, markets, parks, art galleries, yoga studios, bars, tennis courts, coffee shops and more the area has to offer (1-2 miles to the park and many of the best attractions). The surrounding neighborhood with it's maintained dirt roads, Joshua Trees, and spacious properties is itself is both secluded and quiet, With the low number of residents, there is little traffic which invites guest to explore the dirt roads as walking paths.

What makes this property unique
Golden Hour Oasis is unlike any other home you'll find in the Hi-Desert in terms of location, amenities, natural beauty and care put into each and every detail.
The home features a well-curated selection of mid century modern furniture and art, which is admittedly my favorite period for both architecture and interior design. Much of the art is from local artists, which the Hi-Desert has a large abundance of (check out the HWY 62 Art Tours as an example). The vintage look and feel of the interior design stand in contrast to the state-of-the-art intelligent lighting, entertainment system, high-speed internet and modern appliances that allow guests to work, watch, listen, play, cook and enjoy their experience with a level of customization rarely offered at any rental property. Make no mistake, this is our home and we take great pride in inviting guests in to enjoy it's creature comforts to the fullest.
The garden, which was the biggest selling point for me, is by all accounts the strongest feature of the property and what makes it stand out amongst the hundreds of rental homes you'll find in the area. We took extra care to ensure the garden is maintained throughout the year and filled with drought tolerant plants that both attract local wildlife, while retaining an eco-consciousness that lives in perfect harmony with the desert geography.
Beyond the garden you'll find the latest addition to our 1.5 acre property, a salt water pool, surrounding deck, vintage RVs and multiple patio areas that are ideal for taking in the gorgeous sunsets, sunrises or world-renowned stargazing that the Hi-Desert has to offer.
