In the most characteristic street of the historic center, a nest amongst the roofs of the old Desenzano village by the shore of the Garda Lake. Spectacular 360° view of the lake, the castel, the mountains and the morenic hills of Garda. Soft colors, delicate décor; silence, stillness and poetry in the old town. Can't beat the view! Can't beat the beautiful apartment that they have decorated so tastefully! Can't beat the hospitality of the owners!! So friendly and helpful!!! I love everything about this place!! Oh and did I say you can see the lake from EVERY window?? Thank you Ida and Paolo, you made us feel so welcome!!

Perfect location!

The pictures don't do it justice! The terrace is incredible and has amazing views of the lake, mountains, Sirmiofe, castle etc. Our host was very accommodating and provided suggestions on local attractions and events. They provided breakfast and pantry items that helped with our set-up for the week. Best view in town and 2 minute walk to the piazza.

A Perfect Nest

We traveled to Desenzano del Garda to experience The Mille Miglia 2022. Elena’s apartment was the perfect nest. It was just as pictured, perfectly located and so charming. We easily hopped the train to explore Verona and Brescia. We loved the balance of being close to The Lake, the ferry, the shops and hot spots, but also set close to a beautiful quiet neighborhood. We will return to Lake Garda and will ask to stay at this home, again. We so appreciated all of the hospitality that was shared with us. Thank you, Elena!

Everything was perfect. Elana communicated with us before arrival. It turned out to be convenient for Elana's sister, Ida and Ida's husband, Paulo to pick us up at the train station and show us around the apartment and the town. The apartment is comfortable, immaculate and well appointed. We were here 11 days and enjoyed every single moment of the apartment, Desenzano and Lake Garda. It is a perfect location to feel a part of the community. Ferry service to other communities on the Lake is convenient and restaurants and shopping in Desenzano is the best of anyplace on Lake Garda. We could not have been happier with our choice. Thank you Elana, Ida and Paulo. We recommend Carpe Diem without reservation!

Wonderful holiday

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the apartment. It was very clean and modern and ideally located for shops, restaurants and the port. The view from the terrace was spectacular especially early in the evening. Ida and Paolo were excellent hosts, they were really friendly and met us at the station on our arrival, which was much appreciated. Once they had shown us the apartment they took us on a tour of the town pointing out places of interest. Desenzano is a pretty bustling town and is an ideal location for visiting the rest of the lake. We didn't have a car, but it was easy to get around using local transport and the ferries. I would thoroughly recommend a stay here.

A little bit of heaven

Our hosts were charming and explained all we needed to know about the area and the property. The location was perfect for us, and we could have quite happily stayed on the terrace and never ventured out because the view is spectacular! We are looking forward to our next visit.

Absolutely Stunning

A stunning apartment in a stunning location in the stunning Desenzano Del Garda. We could not have asked for more for our honeymoon. We unfortunately had a late flight and a train journey and so did not arrive until 9.30pm, but Ida and Paulo (Elena’s sister and brother in law) picked us up from the train station and were most helpful with the information they gave us. The apartment is beautiful, and so very central for everything! Desenzano is charming, and it is so easy to get around the lake with the ferry. We would most definitely recommend this property, and will probably return.

Room with a View!

We had a wonderful 2 night stay. Excellent communication before we arrived, Ida and Paolo went above and beyond in their hosting - we were collected from the station, shown the apartment and then taken on a quick tour to get our bearings and shown the shops for essentials (including a wine shop at which you can buy 'on tap' wine from 2 euro a litre - bottles provided in the apartment)! The apartment was spotless, beautifully decorated and well equipped but the highlight has to be the views - simply stunning from the good sized roof terrace and every window. Even the bed has been raised so you wake up to the view from the window at the bottom of the bed. The apartment is 2 minutes walk to the main square and harbour yet very peaceful, a perfect combination. We loved the fact that there was no tv (you don't need it with the view) and I'm not sure if there is internet; it allowed us to completely switch off and unwind. We highly recommend this apartment and would definitely return.

This is my home village by the Garda Lake. I love it deeply. I left it when I was 18, and now its a special place where to go back any time I need to relax and feel at home. I love to swim, walk and cycle around the lake. My children and my husband sailing in the lake every summer. Here are my roots and the sense of deep belonging.

Why they chose this property

The appartment is in the historical center of the village, just below the castle, with a fantastic view of the castel itself, the lake, the mountains and the hills.

What makes this property unique

The terrace its right on the village roofs, and offer an incredible setting for contemplation, but also for open air lunches, sunbathing, romantic dinners, fantastic sunset aperos.
Despite being in the very centre, the appartment is incredibly calm and silent: you can hear the castle cork, and the bells form the old dome tower.
Still, main attractions, pubs and restaurants are at a walking distance - with typical open market taking place by the lake on tuesdays, and by the castle on saturdays.
You can reach our home by car (nearby parking) or by train (10 min on foot).
A part from the fantastic beaches and views of the lake, Verona, Venice, Milan, Padua, Trento can be a one day trip.
Gardaland - the biggest italiana amusement parck - is at a 15 minutes drive.
