It was seemless. Got in very easily and everything was smooth. Location was perfect for us. About 25 mins from Newport and the traffic. All local driving and staying here was easy. Place was clean and just right for our family of 5.
My husband and I needed a weekend getaway, and we picked the perfect spot! Sunset Cove had great breakfast sandwiches and LocalZ for dinner was a lot of fun with fantastic music and delicious food and drinks! Our host was helpful and informative and we would absolutely stay again! The house was clean, cute, and comfortable!
This property has the potential to be very nice, but needs some significant changes. The kitchen is very nice, with good amenities. House is located close to the water. However, the sofa bed mattress was very dirty, and the master bedroom is very small and at all not functional...not what I would expect in a vacation rental. Also there was no place to hang towels in the bathroom with the shower...no towel racks or hooks of any kind. With 6 of us, that was really inconvenient. Overall, our stay was fine, but would not choose it again.
The house has an old beach cottage vibe, though with a nicely renovated kitchen & bathrooms. It was clean & comfortable. The property has a small deck off the back, but there is another small cottage within 10 feet so it’s not very private and there’s no garden to speak of. The location is within walking distance to a beach and restaurants and an easy drive to Rhode Island attractions.

When we arrived, we messaged the owner as we could smell gas right when walking in. The owner said to open the windows and someone would be there in an hour. We said we were going out for a bit, but once we left we were told they would be there by 7pm. We arrived back at 7:30 without hearing back from the owner, 2 men in a Prius told us that there was a gas leak and one of them was going to the store to get a part. I didn't feel comfortable as they did not have any ID's or company vehicles & it was 8pm, so I called the fire dept to inspect since we also have a 3 and 4 year old. The "maintenance man" was very upset when we said we called the fire dept. When they arrived, we were told that this rental did NOT have a permit, has many code violations and that the "maintenance man" did not have the appropriate HVAC license to be touching the gas. There was also a small shed/house immediately behind this house that we were not told about before check in. The welcome binder inside the house said that they may or may not have guests at the same time as us which woul have been really good to know before hand. The fire department asked the owner and "maintenance man" what was in the shed and they said it was just storage. It was not storage and was indeed another rental. The FF's would not allow us to stay even if we wanted to at this point. Throughout this, the owner wouldn't return my call, but only messaged me on the website. We did get a refund but had to pay 400 more for a hotel.
