We had a great trip to Redwood National Park & visited the local beaches as well. Crescent City was a great jumping off point to access all of the area.
The property is a perfect hub for both redwood and coastal exploration. Our family of five had a fantastic time exploring nearby tide pools and beach, as well as quick access to all the Redwoods parks have to offer
Loved the home away from home. You could choose to walk to the beach but we ended up driving to have our ice chest and beach gear. Plenty of items were provided to help our family have an excellent stay. We had breakfast and dinners with the full kitchen. Even used the propane grill that was provided with the grill tools. Used the laundry to help with the beach clothes and towels Will stay again!
It was good to have such a nice little place to stay as my daughter and I explored the tidal pools, beaches, and redwood forests! The fully stocked kitchen allowed us to make our own meals, and we could even wash clothes with the easy to use full sized washer and dryer. Convenient and tidy. The only drawback really was the neighbor’s rooster letting us know the time regularly. Beds were a little soft so if you need hard mattresses just be aware of that. We thought they were comfortable though.
Cozy, clean place to sleep. Beds were very comfortable, but the living area convertible 3rd bed was not very comfortable for lounging/sleeping. Property was in a neighborhood that was fairly quiet...we literally slept there & had quick meals in the am/pm. Full kitchen was nice & had everything you needed to cook 3 meals/day should a guest choose. Appreciated the washer & dryer. No dishwasher. We would stay there again. Nice to be within walking distance of the beach.

Cute little bare bones house in a very quiet neighborhood close to the beautiful beaches and redwoods. We could hear the sea lions and surf after dark! We had trouble with the refrigerator keeping our groceries cold, so I would recommend eating out. There is no air conditioning and the house got warm during the day. The bedrooms didn't have screens on the windows to let the cooler evening air in and the living room screen was bent. But as I always say, all a person needs at the beach is a place to sleep and shower. This house fit the bill.

Overall our experience was positive. The home reminded me of my 1st home which was built in the 1940's. The owners here have made improvements inside and it is cozy. Some of the neighborhood homes are nice and some are very run down. Inside this rental the tvs, beds, and appliances are modern. The couch is small and not very comfortable, and there isn't much room in the bathroom to place toiletries. The small kitchen also could use additional counter space. Most of the windows are missing screens which allows bugs in when open for fresh air or to enjoy the cool beach air.
It is about a mile walk or less to the tide pools, is conveniently located to visit Jedediah Smith, and not far from Starbucks and CVS. We didn't find a lot of dining options in town, but Safeway is also nearby.
My 5☆ rating is not based on this being a 5☆ resort, but rather being excellent compared to comparable small rentals I've stayed at and compared to hotels we looked at in town. We'd stay here again.
