Every season in Western North Carolina has something special to offer. Enjoy the wildflowers in spring, the blaze of colors in fall, the fresh mountain air of summer and the serenity of winter.
You will find actvities suited for every taste. Western North Carolina is loaded with craft, antique and gift shops. The great outdoors offer horseback riding, mountain golf courses, trout fishing, white water rafting and scenic drives on The Blue Ridge Parkway. Snow skiing and tubing are available at the Catalooche Ski Area. It's just a short trip to Asheville, known for the Biltmore Estate, craft breweries and some of the best restaurants in the South. Cherokee Indian Reservation and Harrah's Casino are nearby, and it's only a day trip to Gatlinburg and Dollywood in Pigeon Forge.
