About Darcy Davis Tully
I have lived in Chico since 1978 when I first attended Chico State. I love our town and the wonderful activity and diversity the University brings. I have 3 wiener dogs...they're a wonderful breed albeit a tad noisy at times...but they are great company and provide an excellent warning system! If you stay with us, you must like dogs, as two of them are very affectionate and will want to give you kisses! Chico is a great place to experience small town life with big city choices. There's also a lot of recreational opportunities in the area, beginning with Bidwell Park...just 2 miles from my home.
Darcy Davis Tully purchased this Cottage in 1992
Why Darcy Davis Tully chose Chico
I love this part of town because it is old Chico. The Oak trees are enormous, there are chickens in the alley and the location is close to town and the park.
What makes this Cottage unique
Bidwell Ave. is basically a one-lane street with lots of foot traffic and the occasional biker. Big Chico creek runs along the Avenue (approx. 3 miles long), and adds much beauty to this unique side of town.
100% refund if cancelled at least 60 days before arrival date.
Delightful! Excellent Choice for our Chico Stay
The property was more than we imagined. Darcy and Steve were delightful hosts. The beauty in the yard, deck and pool area were perks we enjoyed beyond the comforts of the interior which were also comfortable and all inclusive. WOW! If you are looking for a place to stay in Chico, we highly recommend this property! Doug and Kathy
5 stars isn't enough!
This is the VRBO experience you sit at your desk and envision fully realized! The cottage itself is so fully stocked and charming you feel happy upon entry. Darcy and Steve are genuine and helpful without being a hint of intrusive. The whole experience at CBC felt tailor made for me but I can guarantee everyone will feel that way. I look forward to returning with friends from the East Coast next year and sharing what I discovered. This is an amazing place to stay with wonderful hosts! Emily Jones, New York City
Most perfect place and hosts
A magical hideaway! Every item we could imagine we would need was provided and more. Duck eggs for breakfast, amazing! Sharing the patio with our family was more the we expected. We are hoping for more family events in Durham that allow us to come again.
We had our graduation weekend at This property. Darcy and Steve were fantastic! Stocked the fridge and purchased a congratulatory cake for us. Thanks for everything!!!
The cottage had everything one could possibly need. Even though in town, it was still a quiet location. Hosts were great and accommodating and helpful. They allowed us to have some friends over as well - which was much appreciated. Loved having a comfy place to hang out outside! Thank you!!
Comfy, private, well-stocked
This charming cottage was perfect for our 9-day stay in Chico - close to CSU campus, student housing, downtown restaurants, and markets. Amazingly, we still felt nestled into a quiet, country inn.
Such a pleasant surprise to be welcomed with fresh, local fruit, baked goods, eggs, snacks, and more. Everything we needed was there! Darcy spoiled us wonderfully.
The Cottage by the Creek is within walking distance to the Chico State baseball fields and graduation ceremonies and is exactly one mile to town (and 1-1/2 miles from Bidwell Park). The neighborhood is quiet and a mecca for biking and walking. Bidwell Avenue is fronted by Big Chico Creek.
The Saturday Farmer's market is a year-round event and a must do for all visitors. During the summer months there is also a Thursday night farmer's market downtown with added vendors for dinner.
Our downtown does not have a bad restaurant! We have all types of food, and a restaurant that isn't good will not last a month, so they are all fantastic!
Sierra Nevada Brewery is another popular attraction and is only a little further from town - probably 3 miles from the Cottage.
There are many wineries in the area and there is a special two-day tour of all of them sometime in April.
The Cottage has magazines, maps, and brochures depicting these attractions and more!
