Oven, stove, fridge/freezer, microwave and air fryer are available. For your morning java fix, we have a drip coffee maker and a Keurig, each with supplied ground coffee/filters and pods. While the yard is not fenced in, it is very private, and your dogs are welcome to roam the property and run off leash.
Note that the hill down to the lake is a bit steep. There are make-shift steps made out of sod and railroad ties. There is now a handrail all the way down to the lake to make the descent down and walk back up a breeze!
If you see tiny green “leaves” floating in patches on the water, that is duckweed. It’s completely harmless and the water is quite clear underneath. Some days/seasons it is all on our side of Lake Bernice; other times the water by the dock is clear and the duckweed has floated to another part of the lake. It's perfectly safe to swim through, but if you are looking for a sandy beach and swimming fun, there are 2 beautiful beaches within 10 miles of the cabin. Beach towels are provided in the warmer months.

Neighborhood Note: There are two sportsman’s clubs nearby. When you’re on the deck or down by the lake, you may hear sounds of clay trap shooting in the distance. While it’s part of the rural character of the area, most guests still enjoy the natural beauty and tranquility of the property.
Guest access: The entire property is yours to enjoy! Help yourself to firewood in the shed. We offer the first 8 pieces of firewood for your stay. If you would like additional wood, we use the honor system and you can take 8 additional pieces for $3 - just pay the can!
There is a propane grill on the upper deck plus an extra tank of propane in the shed if you were to run out.
Feel free to take the bikes and snowshoes to the nearby trails. There are also sleds if you want to take the little ones out for a ride.

This is an excellent, well-maintained and furnished place. We had a really enjoyable stay. The house, property, and lake are beautiful. Very reasonably priced and extremely welcoming hosts. I highly recommend this place.

Thank you both for choosing our cabin for your get-away! We love that we don't live too far away so we can attend to any issues quickly. Love your photos! What a variety of weather Wisconsin showed you in just three days. (:
Lovely, cozy home exactly as described & shown in pictures. The hosts were communicative and kind, and thought of everything to ensure a comfortable stay, including providing snacks, drinks, phone chargers, and even dog treats, as well as detailed notes on where to find anything that might be needed. We had a great time and would love to return.

We had a fantastic stay! The lake was incredibly inviting. The hosts did an excellent job of welcoming us. They provided s'mores kits, popcorn, snacks, and clear instructions throughout the house, which made us feel right at home. The hosts responded quickly to our questions and offered great recommendations for shopping and dining, which we followed, making our stay very enjoyable. We will be back! We highly recommend staying here. It's cozy, comfy and full of some great ways to reconnect as a family. Gamenand movie choices were awesome!!

Thank you, Jenny, for the amazing review! We were so happy to hear that you went to one of our favorite "far away" restaurant suggestions and enjoyed it. We hope to have the pleasure of hosting you and your sweet family again in the summer!
Perfect little home on the lake. Great view and nice yard. We enjoyed our time outside down on the pier fishing and grilling dinner on the deck. Our dogs loved the yard. The hosts were really nice offing drinks, snacks and dog treats upon arrival. It was nothing slight of perfect. We definitely want to come back again!

Ellie, your family and pups were most respectful and everything was left in pristine order! We're glad you were able to enjoy the beautiful weekend outdoors. We welcome you back any time!
We stayed at the treehouse for three days. During our stay it rained most of the time. We still enjoyed the peace and quiet. Our little dog loved watching for geese, rabbits and squirrels. The eagle was busy fishing. Thank you for a great stay.

Yes, our Wisconsin weather can be quite fickle at times. We're glad to hear you enjoyed your stay though! You were both so considerate of the cabin, and we would love to host you again.
This is one of the best VRBO rentals we’ve had! The house and location were just as described. The area is mostly quiet and several towns are within a short drive. Everything in the house is very clean, so it felt homey and comfortable. The lake is quiet and calm; we sat on the pier several times a day to watch the dragonflies, lightning bugs, birds and fish. Tammera is a great host and always responded quickly. We stayed for only a few days but would return again and highly recommend.

Thank you, Judy, for your kind words! You and your guests were wonderful to host. We truly appreciate the helpful feedback you gave during your stay, and we welcome you back any time!
We enjoyed the kayaks and fishing. They had all the extra stuff that makes a rental nice. They provided a frozen pizza, which made the first evening very nice for supper. The first round of firewood was free with the next 8 logs were 3. Very reasonable. The hosts also provided s'mores supplies which was a sweet surprise. Thank you for a wonderful time at your cabin on the lake.

Thank YOU for choosing our cabin for your family trip. It would be our pleasure to host you all again!
The cabin was very clean and cozy, with comfy furniture and beds, and a fully stocked kitchen to make any kind of meal your heart desires. ( minus the food, of course). They had a cute welcome sign for us and our dog bear. They left snacks for us, which I thought was super nice. They even had dog dishes and water bowls. That was awesome because I had forgotten to bring mine. The view from the cabin was exquisite. We really enjoyed our stay and would love to come back and stay again. Thank you, Brandon and Tammera!

Liked: Cleanliness, property conditions & facilities, communication
The decor of this property made me truly feel like I was in a treehouse. They were attentive to every detail. The only thing that I would change would be to have a bathroom downstairs. We stayed upstairs so it wasn’t an issue, but if another family were to stay downstairs, it might be. They’re online guidebook gave us ideas of things to do in the area, which we did and enjoyed. I would definitely return again.
Fantastic! Great communication. The house was very nice. Clean! Kitchen loaded with supplies & food provided. I was able to cook dinner a couple times using everything that was provided. Just had to buy the food. Dog friendly. We enjoyed using the kayaks, paddle boat, & canoe. The boys wished there was another tv but they survived on their phones. We even caught a northern pike while in the paddle boat! I even looked at booking it again a couple weeks later but it wasn’t available. Would definitely recommend & stay here again!

So happy to hear your family enjoyed time together and were able to get out onto the water. Congrats on your great catch! Lake Bernice is also known to have excellent ice fishing, and they have a Kids' Fisheree in February. We would love to have you and the boys stay with us again!
The Treehouse was neat and tidy. The hosts maximized the space and provided everything we needed and more. Unfortunately just after 8 each morning the shooting started (2 nearby ranges and neighbors in their yards). On Wednesday it was constant and didn't end until after 9 at night. Any time we were outside we heard gunshots. Other days were not as bad but still started early. The house seals up tight so if you're just looking out the windows at the lake it's nice. Cozy and clean, but NOT peaceful and we would not go back.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We're glad to hear you felt the inside of the Treehouse was clean and cozy, but we’re truly sorry that the sounds from the nearby gun ranges impacted your stay. While the ranges are outside of our control, we completely understand how this could be unsettling for some guests. We’ll be sure to make this more clear in our listing so that future travelers know what to expect.
Thank you for your 5-star review! We hope to see you this summer for kayaking and campfires.

About the host
Hosted by Tammera Dykema
We are a husband and wife duo, and we have wanted to own a short-term rental for many years. Thankfully, Brandon owns his own maintenance business, so we know that all of the structural, technical, electrical, plumbing, etc., issues at the Treehouse will be easily taken care of. Tammera had always dreamed of running a bed and breakfast one day. Well, four sons later, and then assisting with running our family farm for 22+ years, that dream didn't pan out. Now, instead, you will be welcomed by the well-stocked kitchen and other special touches throughout the cabin.
