Magical designer home in the best location in LA. This light, bright, gated and private California property has everything for the perfect stay: 5 bedrooms, 3 baths, formal dining, formal living room, sunroom, huge open kitchen and TV room with vaulted cathedral ceiling, nestled in stunning gardens with roses, lavender, fruit trees and breathtaking sunset and canyon views! Unbeatable cul de sac location with private hiking access at one end, shops and dining in Ventura Blvd at the other, and moments to Beverly Hills, beach and studios!
This is a light-filled, open yet private family home with a huge amount of living space that is both separate and open (all the various living spaces are interconnected yet enclosed so you can enjoy a quiet newspaper in the living room or a coffee in the dining room while kids watch TV in the family room, for example!).
There are 4 bedrooms (3 doubles and an office/ twin), a sunroom, two bathrooms and a laundry room on the raised ground floor, while a stunning primary suite with second TV, large deck and balcony completes the upstairs and 5th bedroom, with en suite rain shower, twin sinks and soaking tub. Waterworks unlacquered brass fittings throughout, custom zellige and marble finishes.
There is a large gated driveway and front lawn edged by roses, lavender and fruit trees, a trampoline and swing set for kids (and energetic grownups!) set back from the street and separated by a fence and electric gates. The back garden has a lawn, covered patio and deck with large bbq, sofas and covered outdoor living room with large TV for enjoying the LA weather. We also have a small 8x17’ pool, only 3.5’ deep so perfect for swimming with kids or cooling off. (Pool heating carries an additional fee.) The pool deck is fenced and lockable (and doors to the yard can also be locked), but it is not completely impenetrable (!), so please be aware of this as owners cannot accept liability. There are also (gated) steps up to some higher terraces with orange, lemon, lime, fig, pear and pomegranate trees, the large upper deck and an upper terrace with stunning sunsets and views across the mountains and Hollywood Hills.
All of this is particularly magical given the house is just moments from famous Ventura Boulevard, with coffee shops, supermarkets, restaurants, bars and high-end boutiques and salons all just a short walk away. The street is also a cul de sac filled with other stunning houses, a really friendly residential area where locals say hi as they walk their dogs - at the top of the street is a private hiking trail to access Fryman Canyon, a wonderful morning hike!
A short drive will take you straight to Beverly Hills, the beach, studios and freeways - it really is the perfect location for LA. We are also across the street from the brand new Sportsman’s Lodge outdoor complex, with Erewhon organic supermarket, Sugarfish sushi, Tocaya organica Mexican food, Roberta’s Brooklyn pizza, grass fed Hi-Ho burger, Italian restaurant, Kismet rotisserie, Ramen, coffee shops, dessert/ ice cream shops, fashion boutiques (eg Madewell, The Great, Alo, Reformation) and other high end dining just a couple of minutes’ walk away - all set back from the street among shaded patios, water features and beautiful landscaping.

Studio City is the best neighborhood in LA as far as we have found - it’s central and easy to get anywhere (whether it’s the beach or downtown, the Studios or Beverly Hills), and yet is a destination all in itself with everything you need on your doorstep - walking distance to great shops, restaurants, hiking and so much more. It’s a really safe and friendly neighborhood and there’s nowhere else in LA we’d rather be.
What makes this property unique
Our place is unique in that it’s peaceful and safe yet has everything on our doorstep - it has the feel of being in the Hollywood Hills (technically it is), and yet we are a short walk to endless amenities on Ventura Blvd so you really don’t need a car to get around. It’s also unique in that it’s been designed with lots of care and attention to create a wonderful, functional retreat, perfect for families or small groups.
