Summerwind is a gorgeous and quiet home nestled on Cable lake in Sister Lakes Michigan. Cable Lake is framed beautifully by this inviting updated ranch. Large windows let natural light and the views of the lake pour into the main living area. The new deck, accessed by French doors adds outdoor living space, and the open concept of the home allows for lake views from the kitchen, dining and living areas. The lower level walkout opens to a beautifully landscaped lawn that slopes gently to the sandy bottom lake.

Summer Wind is located on 90 acre Cable Lake, which is a private non-motor lake in Sister Lakes, MI. This quiet, clean lake is perfect for stand up paddle boarding, kayaking, paddle boating, sailing, windsurfing, canoeing, and swimming. The fishing is outstanding. There are 6 other lakes all within minutes which provide a variety of environments. Most are motor lakes and boat rentals are available through local vendors.

The overall stay was great. The interior of the home was extremely clean. There was plenty of room for 8 adults and two infants. I gave the home a good rating instead of a perfect rating because the walk out patio area needed attention and the upper deck area also needed attention I broomed the deck and walk out patio area. I cleaned the patio/deck furniture. This included the tables and chairs. We enjoyed the fire pit area each night The lake and sandy beach were perfect for recreation. We all took the kayaks out on the lake. My husband took the row boat out and came back with some fish for supper. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

Quiet Lake

Excellent property on a quiet no-sports lake. Interior looks recently renovated and was very clean. Outside space is large with lots of seating for everyone. Lake access was easy and has a nice sandy bottom to wade out for a swim or to launch the kayaks. Surrounding area has good amount of restaurants, bars, grocery stores, etc.....about 1 hour from Holland, Saugatauk, 30 min to St.Joseph and 10 min from Dowagiac. Would highly recommend if you don't need a power boat to make your vacation.

Quiet Lake

We loved Summer Wind on Cable Lake! The lake is no-motor so we had peace and quiet. Would have been better if there were more yard on the beach side for outdoor games. But we managed.

Family reunion

This is the second time we stayed at Summerwind. And we can't wait o go back next year. the home is spotless and this year there were new appliances. the weather wasn't the best but there was plenty to do to keep everyone busy. The lake is the best, clean and quiet. the family enjoyed kayaking, fishing and just floating on the peaceful water. A beautiful home for a family vacation. Of course a trip to Driftwood is required for ice cream and arcade games. And a bon fire to make somemores was perfect in the evening.

really great home/house on a really nice lake

We really enjoyed our week stay at Summer Wind - meaning my wife and I, our children and spouses, and or grandchildren. We have been staying at cottages for 40+ years - Summer Wind is right there among the top places we have enjoyed. We are from the south side and south suburbs of Chicago - making the place easy to get to, as my family came and went during our week as their time allowed. The house itself is very well done inside and very modern. It was a very warm week with great weather, and the a/c was very comfortable. The 3 bathrooms are all very nice and very clean with showers in all three. There was plenty of room to spread out in the house, and with 4 nice sized bedrooms, beds on the lower level, and a pull out couch, there was plenty of room for all to sleep. 2 of our grandkids are under 1, and the place was very good for them. Another 6 of our grandkids are 4 to 7 - there was plenty of grounds for them to explore. And it was very safe for them as the road is far away. (There is a ton of space to park, which can be a problem at many places - there probably is parking for 15 or more cars.) The lake was great for them and all for swimming - it very gradually eases out into deeper water. And you don't need water shoes as it's very sandy. They especially enjoyed the 2 kayaks, and rowboats. The older ones caught a bunch of fish, too, a few of them pretty large (bass). The deck on the upper level is really spectacular. You get a really great view of the whole lake as it's elevated. Plus the weather was so nice that the grandkids ate most meals outside. The adults spent most nights sitting out there to take in the view. During the day, we all spent a lot of time sitting in the water on the numerous chairs provided. It was a great way to spend vacation. The neighbors were very nice - we spent a lot of time talking to them. They remarked how well the place had been upgraded over the last year. Finally, the owner, Frank, was very accessible if you needed to contact him. I always use email - don't want to bother the owner so he can answer in his own time. Emailed him a couple times, and he answered promptly and helped us out with answers we needed. Summer Wind was all thumbs up by all ! John Shalvis

Great stay over all access to all the amenities was wonderful. Might want to invest in some fishing new fishing gear what was there was pretty busted so we didn’t bother trying to use it and the best were all mostly busted up as well luckily we brought our own with but over all everything else was great. As my brother stated picture on the website don’t do the property any justice. House looks way better in person you may want to do some better professional pics.

Great property on private no motor lake.

We have been staying at the same place every year for about 5 years now. Love the location and the owner as they are always updating things around the house. The communication is always really good. Have not had any major issues with them.View is very nice of the lake. Plenty of parking. Plenty of deck and patio space. Large open floor plan for our family. If your taking a look in the area, make sure to check out this place.

Family Getaway

We enjoyed our stay. Lake was very peaceful and not too busy. We enjoyed kayaking, fishing and just floating around. The house was perfect for our group. Enjoyed the large dining room table that allow our group to have meals together. A few minor things came up, but were resolved promptly by the owner. I would definitively recommend this property.

Summerwind cottage family vacation

Amazing experience from start to finish. Our kids loved everything. The grill was very dirty from previous renters but my husband is a clean freak so he enjoyed having a project while i took the kids to driftwood. Everything was exactly like it was in the pictures. Very clean. Very quiet. Very relaxing. I really enjoyed showing my kids how it is growing up on cable lale during the summer as i did when my grandpa had a cottage across the lake. We will be back next year. Thank you Frank and family for renting out your gorgeous lake home.

Labor Day at Sister Lakes

We had a blast. Lovely lake house. Kids really appreciated the communal toys in the Pirate’s chest in the basement. Would love to stay there again.

Great lake house family vacation

We really enjoyed our week at the Summerwind cottage. There was plenty of space for our large family of 7 adults and 3 children. The lower level was great for the older kids who also enjoyed swimming and fishing on the property. Everyone enjoyed the kayaks and beachfront fire pit. Frank was very responsive when there was a problem with the internet and had a repair technician out first thing Monday morning. We'd definitely stay here again.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We didn’t realize when booking that Cable Lake is a no motor lake, but it was great, so peaceful. Made full use of kayaks on property. Big deck, open main floor, plenty of beds and baths for our group of 9. Biggest complaint would be not enough plates and silverware. Best to bring paper/plastic.

Girls Weekend

This place was awesome for a get together. 7 of us girls got together for a weekend to hang out. The lake was beautiful and the deck was our favorite place to sit. Frank was so easy to work with and very responsive. Highly recommended for all ages.

The house offers some great privacy while still being super close to tons of activities. Cable lake is gorgeous and peaceful while the neighboring lakes have sport activities and boating. It's really the best of both worlds.
