About this property

Beautiful Cabin on Scenic WI River/Lake Wisconsin. Close to WI Dells and Madison

Beautiful, spacious cabin located on the scenic Wisconsin River. Enjoy nature with all of the conveniences of home. Stunning 180 degree water views from the home and deck. Our home is located just above Lake Wisconsin on the Wisconsin River. There is a fire pit for night bonfires, grill for barbequing and screened gazebo for relaxing. We have a 20’ dock for fishing and enjoying the view. Enjoy watching all of the wildlife the river has to offer including Sandhill Cranes, Bald Eagles and Blue Heron.

Inside you will find a 2 story vaulted open great room with a spacious dining room and fully stocked kitchen with a 10 foot island. There is an enormous wall of all windows looking out to the river for an open view. The cabin has knotty pine walls, a full brick wall fireplace and rustic cabin décor. There are 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms (one full and one ¾ bath). The master bedroom has a King-sized bed with bathroom access. The second bedroom has a queen bed and twin bed with bathroom access. The 3rd loft bedroom overlooking the great room and river has 2 twin beds. There is also a queen size futon. Linens and towels are provided.

Enjoy our beautiful waterfront location or explore our local attractions. The cabin is in walking distance from Hookers Restaurant & Bar with great grill your own steaks and Live music almost every weekend. Located nearby is the fun filled Wisconsin Dells (30 minutes) with world class Water parks, and attractions. Hike and take in the breathtaking scenery at Devil's Lake State Park (30 minutes). Visit the International Crane Foundation that houses every species of Crane (25 minutes). Enjoy a Gambling excursion at Ho Chunk Casino (25 minutes). Explore the MacKenzie nature center with native animal exhibits (15 minutes). Do some wine tasting at Rock N Wool Winery in Poynette or Wollersheim Winery in Prairie Du Sac.

If you are up for being on the water, enjoy boating down river on Lake Wisconsin or to the sand bar islands with sandy beaches on the river for all day fun and relaxation. The public boat launch is just ½ mile down the road if you want to bring your own boat. Rent Canoes or Kayaks from Wild Wisco Waters (608-617-0998, wildwiscowaters@gmail.com) and they will pick you up and take you upriver and you can float and paddle down to the cabin. Burhops (about 10 minutes away) rents pontoons and fishing boats on Lake Wisconsin (608-592-4802).

Please note that we put our dock in when the water level is normal (usually late May to early June but it can fluctuate with rain events upstream). We prefer to rent Saturday to Saturday from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Please contact us prior to booking if you are interested in different days during this time period. For your safety, please note that security cameras are located on the garage. These devices are strictly for monitoring security and will not invade guests' privacy.

Wonderful place to celebrate our Badger Grad

Stunning and so spacious! And incredibly peaceful! We wanted to find a place for our family to all stay together for spring UW Graduation weekend. While this property was not in Madison, the proximity and ease of traveling to and from Madison was simple. This was the perfect place for us!

We greatly enjoyed our stay at this cabin. It was very peaceful and felt secluded - especially with the sandbar across the river making it feel like you were really out in nature. The cabin was stocked with everything that you would need. We really appreciated all of the notes that the owner had posted that explained how to operate things and where to find things. The binder provided excellent information on nearby activities and resources. Overall, we had an excellent time and would highly recommend this property.

Nice little scenery and cabin. Hosts were very accommodating...couldn't ask for a better experience. Highly recommend if you're in that area. Will book again if life brings us out that way again.

Wonderful Wisconsin Getaway

We had a wonderful stay at this property! It has beautiful views of the Wisconsin River and was close to everything we wanted to see or do. There was room for all of us, plenty of towels, the kitchen was stocked with all the pots, pans, and dishes we needed. The cabin's owners were very kind and responsive to any questions we had during our trip. We will definitely consider staying here again!

Cabin on the river

We enjoyed our stay at this cabin. It was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. We appreciated that it was pet friendly. The view of the river from the living room is wonderful. We were disappointed that the back yard and dock were unusable due to heavy rains causing the river to flood the yard but realize this was beyond the control of the home owner. Host communication was very good. We would stay again!

Perfect place!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The "cabin" was so well outfitted with what you'd hope to find from linens to kitchen tools and dishes. Two full sized refrigerators were great as well. This is a very nice rental indeed. It felt as though we were on the water as the large picture windows display the Wisconsin River flowing by as you sit in the comfortable living room. Highly recommend this and want you to know the owners were excellent to work with.

Nice time away

This was our first family vacation in about 16 years! It was a great house with plenty of room for all of us! The kitchen was well equipped so we could make most of our meals at home. A quick 40 minute trip to the Dells area so there was always something to do. Also, close to Camp Rest Park which has a playground, sand area with sand toys, and a small beach with water to walk in (safe for children with life jackets which are provided!). We had an awesome time!

Peaceful cabin on the Wisconsin River

This cabin sits right on the Wisconsin River and has beautiful views from the living room’s large windows overlooking the river. There is an island directly across and a larger channel on the other side of the island, which most of the boat traffic uses, so the smaller channel that the cabin is on is quiet and very peaceful. From the cabin, we saw fish, deer, turtles, frogs and toads. The cabin was great base for many activities in the area (Devils Lake, Mirror Lake and water parks).

Cozy cottage in wooded Wisconsin

Our stay included a senior couple for the week. The weekend included a son and daughter in law and 4 grandkids. The home was very comfortable and clean. The kids had room to explore. All bedrooms were upstairs except for a futon in the laundry room. The path to the main door to enter was gravel. Spacious family room, kitchen very equipped and plenty of dining space. The owners were easy to reach and very accommodating.

Exploring The Wisconsin Dells Area

This house was absolutely what we wanted. A nice quiet place to spend the evening while exploring the Wisconsin Dells area during the day. The view from the living area was peaceful and serene. Our son and daughter in law were staying with my husband and me. We had room enough that we were not tripping over each other or getting in each others way. The kitchen was very well stocked with dishes, pots pans, mixing bowls...everything you would have in your own home. If we ever decide to come back we will definitely stay in this house.

Another great stay

This is our third year in a row staying at the house and it was another wonderful experience. It's quiet, but close enough to get places like Madison and the Dells. The Roku wasn't working but John and Jen were right on it and ordered a new one but when it was delayed, John brought out one a couple of days later and put it in. They are both very helpful and respond very quickly to any needs. The house is amazing, the two refrigerators are a real plus, and the bed is very comfortable. The water level was low so hard to get on the dock as the bridge was steeper for older people:) The river does go up and down but still so serene to be on it and always enjoy our time. Thanks much!!

Why they chose this property

We discovered Lake Wisconsin and the Wisconsin River in 2002. We would trailer our boat to the lake and go up river where all the beautiful views, wildlife and sandbars are. When we spotted this home from the river we were taken in by the breathtaking views and great location. We love it and our families love it. It feels like a vacation every time we visit.
