great property close to ponca and many hiking trails. very peaceful, liked watching to cows out the window while the sun came up in the morning. had detergent and dryer sheets which was great plus keurig and little coffee pot, Tupperware for packing a lunch and a little insulated lunch box.
The host was very responsive. The cabin was perfect. Very clean and comfortable. The wildlife and small waterfalls on the road to the cabin were nice to see. Also enjoyed seeing the Elk in Boxley Valley.
Absolutely peaceful place. There was a cool breeze that came over the mountain everyday. We sat on the porch and had coffee every morning. Played on the buffalo during the day and played board games together at night. Perfect getaway.
This cabin is tucked off by itself on what appears to have been an old farm. They let the natural grasses grow and cut trails into the brush so you can go on a nice walk right on the property. A very short drive to the Compton trailhead if you’d like a challenging hike or less than 10 minutes down to Ponca, where you can float the Buffalo national River. As far as the cabin goes, everything you need is there from charcoal for the grill to wood for the fire pit. With 2 minisplits cooling the cabin you can reach your desired temperature very easily and quickly. If you think you will need something, just look and it should be there. This cabin is very well stocked with all your necessities. I would recommend this cabin to anyone looking to adventure out into the buffalo trail system or River. Or a short drive over to Jasper to a small quaint town. Lastly, the host was very easy to get in touch with and their instructions were very detailed.
