Peace & Quiet - "Back of the lot" unit, off the street, few neighbors, a super safe, family friendly walking environment.

Many services, groceries, restaurants in close walking distance. Also, all major medical facilities, parks, universities. As examples:

Unit is located in the peaceful neighborhood of Sunset Park, you'll be a 5-minute drive from University of California, Los Angeles, 2 minutes from SMC, and 6 minutes from Santa Monica Pier. This property is 4.7 mi (7.6 km) from Sony Pictures Studios and 10.8 mi (17.3 km) from University of Southern California. Universal Studios and Disneyland are a bit more of a schlep.

Near beach, attractions and mass transit. Ideal getaway at a price you can afford.

Laundry in building, weekly maid service (at owner's additional cost for week+ visits), garage parking for one car, safe and plenty on-street parking, nearby 24 hour fitness with pool – sauna (day passes available). Continental breakfast on request.aa

This is a great deal for up to six travelers, but many guests - solo and groups - have stayed over the years (property was a prior client of other mid & short term rentals).

This place is a great location to not only enjoy Santa Monica its restaurants & attractions but close enough to the highway to easily checkout downtown Los Angeles or do day trips to other nearby areas. Zachary was a very responsive host. We very much enjoyed our stay at his place.

The host was attentive and there - but the primary bedroom had curtains that didn't close. We were there for a day so it didn't matter, but when I asked the host to leave us be and not come over, he did ignore that request and come over anyways which felt disruptive. There was also moldy food in the fridge and a bunch of salt and sugar all over the floor the apartment. Dishes were left in the sink and there was trash out on the counter when we came in.

Valerie - Understanding your concerns, I would respectfully offer that if you had a simple complaint which you can remedy, do so and cite it in the review, after considering the fullness of your experience. If on the other hand, you don't want the owner to remedy the complaint (as you have a right to expect) do not then make the complaint DURING YOUR STAY. Obviously your concern would have required a five minute solution, but you chose instead to complain on the app in public, then treat us uncourteously when we promptly responded during normal business hours, then gave the property a bad review, This is both inaccurate, and detrimental to the business. For the sake of your own serenity, and that of your future, kindly keep your side of the street clean prior to going out with

A disappointment to say the least. We arrived when the temp was over 100 in LA. The room was roasting hot. The AC was not connected to the window and blowing hot air into the room. The duct for the AC broken and it looks like someone had attempted to repair it with tape and it was not effective. There was only 1 screen for 2 windows and it did not fit, so we had to sleep in what was not only a hot room but a questionably unsafe situation. Neighbors right up against the open windows. On top of that the kitchen was disgusting, mold on the water dispenser, food in the sink trap and rotten milk in the fridge. When I tried to deal with owner directly, he accused us of doing the damage, since we took the pictures in the morning. Needless to say we stayed somewhere else for our second night.

You checked in and had repeated contact with me, certainly sufficient time for you to express what your exacting standards of cleanliness were, or correct any broken equipment you found. Suggest you spring for a hotel next time rather than sullying reputation of my place…dozens of happy customers — never one uncorrectable concern! So, what is the common factor?

Close to the ocean, walkable neighborhood, familial vibe on the street, very few neighbors in the building… not to mention the security of knowing that Santa Monica has the quickest police response time in the nation for when I am out of town!
