Layout: The chalet has three stories: Upstairs is a large open loft with lots of books. The far wall is stenciled with aspens and it has a large contemporary rug over the wooden floor. It has a small seating area and a chest of drawers to store clothes.

The main floor has beautiful slate floors throughout and dark wood beams across the ceiling. The inviting living/TV area has high vaulted ceilings and two large chandeliers. The natural log wood walls hold a pleasing collection of black and white winter scenes above the cozy sofa, located next to a blazing corner gas stove pipe heater. There is a custom coffee table made from reclaimed wood over a soft furry rug. There is an open dining area with beautiful views that is decorated with a unique collection of aspen trunks intertwined with sparkling lights. The kitchen is open and modern with stainless steel appliances, a gas stove, butcher block countertops, open shelves for dishes and glassware, and dark ceiling beams above. Off of the kitchen is the back deck that has amazing views of mountain tops and tall spruce trees. The main floor also houses the master bedroom and the main spa-like bathroom. The master bedroom has log walls and dark ceiling beams. It contains a queen size bed with a grey duvet, small wall mounted TV, furry headboard, and an open shelf above with framed mountain scenes. There is also a natural twig mirror and a closet to store clothes.

Downstairs there is a large L-shaped sectional sofa that is the perfect lounging area for watching sports or to enjoy a movie night. There is a stove pipe heater near the sectional that will keep everyone warm in the cold winter. A bedroom with built-in bunkbeds has a full-size bed below and a twin-size bed above with grey polka dot duvet covers. The bedroom has gray plaid wallpaper with colorful artwork and a few cute stuffed animals. There is also an adjoining bathroom with a second shower. The downstairs area also has an open table/desk area and a cute laundry room with a refrigerator and a new washer and dryer. The back door leads you out into the snowy wilderness.

Excellent cabin

We had a great time at this cabin. Marlene, the property is one of the most responsive and hospitable VRBO owners's I have dealt with! From the clean rooms to the updated decor, if your looking for a great place to spend the weekend I highly recommend this place. The place is better than the pictures.

Beautiful Home in the Mountains, Minutes from Breck

Loved our stay. Everything is new and clean. We were very comfortable; plenty of room for two families. Located on a mountain side just outside of town. Beautiful views. Minutes from Breck.

Absolutely Amazing!!

The home was immaculate, cozy, and in the most beautiful setting. Careful thought was taken with stocking the kitchen and the bathrooms with what we would need for our stay. The owner was great to leave suggestions for hikes around the area as well as a wealth of informative magazines and books about Breckenridge and surround. We couldn't have asked for a more amazing place to stay. Will definitely book this property again!!

Perfect Couple Getaway

My wife and I stayed in the chalet for a week in the spring (early May). We loved everything about the place. It is close enough to Breckenridge that you can be in town in less than 20 minutes while being far enough you won't feel like you are in town. The decoration was very appealing and comforting; it has cabin charm with a modern twist. The place is big enough that it can accommodate multiple people. However, it is not so big that if you are planing a couple getaway it will feel empty. Marlene, the property owner, was very friendly and approachable. We would definitely recommend anyone to stay here!

Gorgeous Chalet in Breckenridge

We are from Florida and my husband and I were looking for a place that we could celebrate our daughter's first birthday. We did not want to stay in a hotel since it would limit our flexibility with a baby. This cabin had it all- great views, luxury amenities, and close proximity to Breckenridge. We were able to cook many meals due to the well stocked kitchen. The property management was very responsive as well. We couldn't figure out how to use one of the fireplaces/stoves on the lowest level and they came right over to help us out. We would definitely stay here again.

It doesn't get better than this chic chalet!

The chalet is truly the perfect mountain hideaway. During our stay we were able to go for a 22mi mountain bike ride, take a Jeep trail to the highest drivable point in the US, climb our first 14er and dine in Breckenridge every evening - all without driving more than 20 min away. The location truly can't be beat. The cabin itself exceeds the pictures and the views are breath taking. Even just taking a walk down the street provides incredible scenery. The owners are by far some of the friendliest and most flexible people we've booked with. They are accommodating and provided great recommendations on activities in the area. The chalet is also stocked with literature on the surrounding area including guide books and maps. This was the perfect vacation for my boyfriend and I. We can't wait to come back with friends during ski season!

Beautiful mountain chalet! Perfect fit for our family with 2 adults and 2 teen boys.

Our family came to Breckenridge to escape the Texas heat and that is certainly what happened! Weather was perfect and we found ourselves chilly at times! I forgot it was July! The chalet was decorated so nicely and it was a great place to return home to after our outings in the area. Beds were comfortable and the kitchen was well appointed with everything needed to make meals. The house has wonderful hot water, we noticed. Grill works great too! Some of us hiked the Quandary Peak which they said was great but challenging! We also went whitewater rafting in Buena Vista. Can’t say enough great things about Noah’s Ark River Rafting! Awesome experience! We also enjoyed daily drives into Breckenridge for shopping and dining. Such a cute mountain town! All in all, we had a great trip and look forward to our return at some point! Thank you for sharing your beautiful home!

Almost Heaven, Chic Chalet

Our week in August 2015 was our best family vacation ever, due in large part to the Chic Chalet. It was perfect accommodation for the 6 of us. My big kids really enjoyed the lower level suite. We cooked like professional chefs in this amazing, modern kitchen. The view of the mountains was lovely and we really enjoyed hanging out of the back deck. In August the wildflowers were abundant and I created a beautiful floral arrangement for the week. The beds were comfortable...we slept like babies. We mostly hung out on the main floor and had great meals and conversation. We watched all 6 episodes of Star Wars on the family room TV - there are many tv's through the chalet. We are from Florida and are low-altitude people. We had no issues with the altitude and breathed in that clear Rocky Mountain air. We went into the village daily and really enjoyed the free gondola ride up to the resort. We also enjoyed the nearby waterfalls. I will return to the Chic Chalet again and again. It is a beautiful home and the host were wonderful to work with!

Fabulous for a family getaway!

We LOVED the chalet. We loved the fact that we felt tucked away in the mountains! The instructions to have four wheel drive were important because you really are "up" in the mountains and the driveway was steep, but we just used the snow shovels that were provided to clear the snow for my front wheel drive vehicle and were able to make it work. They also provided a little sled and it felt like we had everything we needed to make the trip a success. I enjoyed how well stocked the kitchen was and how nice the appliances were because we cooked together a lot. I loved the layout which included a loft, main floor and basement. The floor plan kept you together, but also gave us space to spread out. The chalet had all of the rustic appeal of the mountains, but with all of the modern conveniences. The water was always hot and the house was always at the perfect temperature and the bathrooms had plenty of towels and toiletries. We enjoyed skiing and going down to town to shop. We also did the sleigh ride/dinner from the list of things to do in the house and we really, really enjoyed that. I would highly recommend this property!

Beyond Expectations

For ten years, we have used VRBO to find a vacation rental. This was the first time that the reality far exceeded our expectations. The photos do not do the home justice. It is GORGEOUS. This custom home was obviously designed by a very talented architect. The living spaces are light-filled, inviting and comfortably appointed with quality furnishings. Entertainment options are plentiful, and access to the very latest 5G WiFi technology was greatly appreciated by my husband, a data processing consultant. The large, well-equipped kitchen was given a “thumbs up” by our friend, Chef Cassidy, who prepared a magnificent meal for us and found all that he required. The well-designed floor plan affords each of the three sleeping areas a sense of seclusion and privacy. The quality bedding and mattresses promote a restful, restorative night. The lower level is ideal for the younger set to enjoy in excited exuberance without disturbing the other guests. The climate-controlled heating system is well-balanced and has none of the hot or cold spots that can occur in less well-designed systems. The home is conducive to a relaxing vacation, and the setting bids one to come out and explore the beauty of Colorado. In short, we loved the home and had a wonderful vacation.

Great for our family!

Love this property. Great decor and tons of room for our family of five. A little too close to highway, not very peaceful to sit outside in the evenings.. Wish the outdoor heater worked. Perfect location for Breckenridge, Frisco and Dillon activities - went White Water Rafting in Buena Vista with KODI rafting - EXCELLENT! Go bike riding around the Dillon Resivoir - beautiful views. Loved the small hike at the Waterfalls at Blue Lakes.

Great chalet close to town but far enough out to really relax

My in-laws, my husband and I, and our 3 year old and 1 year old daughters had a wonderful stay at this beautiful, cozy chalet. Everything was well equipped, and we especially enjoyed the heater on the back deck so we could sit comfortably outside and enjoy the spectacular views. We loved the proximity to so many fun things. We went to see Isak Heartstone, the giant troll, and visited Blue Lakes, which was only about 10 minutes away to the start of the short trailhead. We loved our stay and are looking forward to visiting again next time!

Can’t wait to come back!

The owner was amazing and accommodate us same day. The chalet is a dream! Clean, elegant, fun. Close enough to Breckenridge to enjoy the area, but remove enough to see more stars than we have ever seen. I can not recommend it enough and we will be back soon!

Beautiful chic cabin with amazing views of the mountains!

If you're wanting to stay in a peaceful location with beautiful views, this defintly needs to be your cabin! Not only is it in a perfect location close to Breckenridge, the decor and amenities are an added bonus. This house had everything we needed and was organized very well. The cabin was warm and inviting the second we walked in. There was also amazing star gazing with a visible view of the milky way! This cabin was so cozy and felt like home! Great location away from the crowds, plenty of wildlife, but 2nd shower needs work/no cell service

We wanted to get away from the busy area around Mainstreet. The chalet is about 10-15 minutes away, which was perfect. We saw plenty of wildlife, including a moose in the front yard, which I doubt I would have seen had we stayed downtown. It's also just a mile or two away from the Quandry Peak trailhead, and the beautiful Blue Lake and waterfall. It's nicely decorated, and had everything that we needed. I have only two complaints: The first is the bathroom downstairs. The shower had almost NO water pressure, and was practically unusable. Also, that same shower and bathroom are in the same room as the bedroom with the bunk beds - there is no door to separate the two, and so if the beds are occupied, you cannot use the bathroom or shower without being seen. Also, we had a LOT of trouble with cell phone service. We were unable to make phone calls most of the time, and when we could, the people on the other end of the phone could not hear us. We had to drive closer to town in order to make a phone call.

Perfect home for family vacation

This property was perfect for our family vacation. Conveniently located to downtown Breckenridge, but far enough away to offer a more secluded view. We were able to visit various cities while in Colorado. Buena Vista for whitewater rafting, Frisco for annual BBQ festival, downtown Breckenridge for massages, a multitude of hiking trails in between and of course shopping at all. Our days were filled with adventure and ended with a relaxing dinner at Chic Mountain Chalet. The kitchen had all utensils necessary to cook family dinners and plenty of gas for the gill for cooking on the deck. What you see in the pictures is exactly what you can expect to see when you arrive. Thank you Marlene for sharing your "Chic Mountain Chalet"

Quiet, beautiful views, modern home

The home is almost at the top outside of Breckinridge. It takes about 10-15 minutes to get into the town of Breckinridge which we really enjoyed because we could be located in the mountains with the nature and wildlife but still reach the town easily. The home has everything you need from air mattresses, extra blankets and pillows, hair dryers, and soaps! We had plenty of room to play games and enough beds for everyone to sleep with our large group. The house is adorably decorated and very comfortable. I would say the only complaint was that we weren’t aware of how hot the heating vents got and it ended up melting some of our bags from leaning against them. However, the home was perfect for our stay. My advice though, you will be 11,000 feet in elevation so prepare to be winded using the stairs lol oxygen tanks were available though!

Our family loves to ski and snowboard. It is the only sport mom can do with her sons! We have great quality family time on our ski trips. We love to hike and this is a picture at the top of Quandary Peak! We have always wanted a place in the mountains to enjoy with our family.

Why they chose this property

We looked at properties that were ski-in and ski-out but decided the most beautiful area was in the mountains just south of Breckenridge. The trees and mountain vistas are off-the-charts beautiful. This was the first house our realtor showed us and none could compare afterwards.

What makes this property unique

Only 9 miles from Breckenridge Skiing and fabulous restaurants! Also, very close to Vail/ Beaver Creek, Copper Mountain, Keystone. The moose graze right next to the house. There are numerous hiking trails with mountain lakes and waterfalls in close proximity. There are four nearby 14'ers to climb with mountain goats galore. A 14'er is a mountain higher than 14 thousand feet. There are 56 14'ers in Colorado. There are also many local road bike trails.
