Great place, great location!Very well maintained and had all of the essentials. We had an issue with the TV and it was fixed immediately. We highly recommend !
My stay at Cozy Lake House was wonderful! Tucked away in a wooded lot just yards from a lake that can be seen from the porch, this place is one I definitely would return to. The owners were attentive to my questions, clear communicators and left maps, directions to local restaurants and grocery stores. I found them very helpful.

About the host
Hosted by Randy Watkins
Life in rural Colorado is nothing short of an adventure. My wife, Nicole, and I have built a life here with our two daughters, Lennon and McCartney—yes, we’re Beatles fans through and through. Our home is filled with laughter, music, and the boundless energy of our three dogs, who seem to think they own the place more than we do.
Camping is in our blood. There’s something about loading up the camper, hitting the road, and escaping into the wilderness that never gets old. Whether it’s pitching tents beneath the stars or waking up to crisp mountain air, those moments remind me why we chose to live surrounded by nature. Lennon always has her eyes peeled for wildlife, while McCartney is on a never-ending quest to roast the world’s most perfect marshmallow.
Golfing is another love of mine—there’s no better feeling than the perfect swing on a sunny afternoon. Nicole is pretty competitive on the course, and the girls are quickly catching on to the game. We’re a family that thrives on sports, whether it’s a casual backyard match or cheering from the stands during a local game.
And then there’s traveling. While Colorado will always be home, we love exploring places far and wide, collecting stories and experiences along the way. Every trip adds another chapter to our family’s adventure, creating memories that will last a lifetime.
Through it all—whether we’re hiking a mountain trail, teeing up on a golf course, or embarking on a new journey—life is rich, full, and exactly the way we want it to be.
Why they chose this property
We initially chose this property in Lakeville, Connecticut because we wanted to be close to our daughter's school, Hotchkiss. But what started as a practical decision quickly became something much more—we unexpectedly fell in love with the area. The rolling hills and sprawling farmland create a peaceful backdrop that feels like stepping into a postcard. The quaint little northeastern towns, each with their own charm, make for perfect weekend strolls, and the fall foliage is nothing short of breathtaking. Watching the leaves shift from green to brilliant reds, oranges, and golds each year is a reminder of why we’re so glad we landed here. What started as convenience turned into a true love for this place—it’s become our home in every sense of the word.
What makes this property unique
Our property is truly a hidden gem. Nestled on a private drive, our cabin-like home offers the perfect blend of seclusion and serenity. With direct access to the lake, we get to enjoy peaceful mornings and stunning sunsets over the water. The natural surroundings feel almost surreal—towering trees, wildlife wandering through the woods, and the quiet calm that only a place like this can provide. The wood-burning fireplace adds a cozy touch, making chilly evenings feel warm and inviting. One of our favorite features is the spacious patio, where we can take in breathtaking views of the forest and Lake Wononpakook. Whether it's relaxing with a cup of coffee or watching the colors of fall transform the landscape, this place is a retreat unlike any other.
