Welcome to Redwood 101 the closest rental only minutes to Stout Grove and the trails of Jedediah Smith Park and 1/2 mile to one of the Smith River’s best swimming holes. Surrounded by its own Redwoods, footpaths, wooden bridges and trickling streams, this is not your typical cabin in the woods. With a chef’s equipped kitchen, spa-inspired bathrooms (soaking tub, rain dual shower heads), and curated experience kits (smores, outdoor movie, baths salts, etc), Redwood 101 offers a luxurious take on the forest retreat. Please note pets are strictly not allowed because the property is not safe for pets. The property is unfenced, surrounded by Redwoods, with wildlife (including coyotes, raccoons, and bears), ticks, wasps (and lots of other crawly critters), and occasional roaming neighbor dogs. In addition, for the safety of our guests, it is important that we eliminate waste that will draw predatory animals.

Bring inside outdoor items - games, towels, etc. Place all used blankets under stairs. Safe travels—and come back soon!

What a beautiful and cozy home tucked into the Redwoods! This was the perfect base camp to explore Prairie Creek, Del Norte and Jedediah Smith State Parks. Coming back to the quiet forest setting of the house was perfection! Comfortable, clean and well stocked, we would come back again for sure! Thanks for the great stay!

Marvelous property. The owners really thought of everything. There are two master bedrooms with private baths upstairs. Down stairs has two beds and bath. Beautiful remodel. Privacy in the woods. Close to all the hiking we wanted to be at. Kitchen has everything needed. We have sent this link to several of our friends. BBQ had all the tools. So cozy

I chose the location for Redwood 101 because there's truly nothing like being surrounded by the ancient, awe-inspiring, old-growth Redwoods of Northern California. You can't walk among the giants and not gain perspective. Redwood 101 is the closet rental to Stout Grove and next to one of the best swimming holes along the Smith River. The location is perfect.

What makes this property unique

Redwood 101 is a truly special blend of luxury and nature. The backyard is its own little Redwood sanctuary, with winding footpaths, bridges over gentle streams, and towering trees just steps from the house. Inside, you’ll find spa-inspired bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen (Le Creuset, airfyer, popcorn maker, etc), and thoughtful touches throughout. There is a firepit, a grill, outdoor seating, and special touches like an outdoor movie screen. Everything was designed to make your stay effortless and restorative.
