A quiet and peaceful surrounding with a very unique property. Check in information and process was simple. Excellent communication from Erik via multiple paths to ensure I received pertinent information from him. The kitchen was above and beyond expectations. You will find plenty of spices, cookware, and coffee. The house itself was amazing. I took so many pictures of the wrought iron fixtures, the door hinges, the huge fireplace, and many other antique pieces. We were close to Core Creek State park, and took a nice day trip out the the East Broadtop Railroad and Shaver's Creek environmental center. Any history buff or outdoor enthusiast would love staying in this house built in 1790.
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our time in Williamsburg. The home’s rich historical provenance and period details truly made us feel as though we had stepped back to 1790, immersing us in the Iron Forge community. The house was beautifully appointed and very comfortable. The owners went above and beyond, graciously providing not only the essentials but also thoughtful touches like cooking spices, a variety of coffee and tea, and even Old Fashioned Self-Rising Buckwheat Pancake Mix from their store in New Stanton. The bathroom exceeded our expectations, offering toiletries such as toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant, shampoo, and conditioner, along with a first aid kit for added convenience. The home is set on 8 acres and a stream runs through the front yard right in front of an outdoor fire pit and Adirondack chairs. There is also a table and chairs on the front porch where we had breakfast each morning. If you are in the area do yourself a favor and stay at this delightful home.
