This lovely Interlochen home was very clean and had everything our family needed for a great vacation. The beach and paddle boat were fun and the owner provided us with dry firewood for fires enjoyed by all. This home is very quiet and close to Traverse City and other towns we visited -- and only 20 minutes to Moomers! We would book this property again!

Nice home on a small and very quiet lake with a sandy beach for the kids to play. Plenty of beds and a great view of the lake from the house and back porch. When I mentioned to the owner at check in that our kids forgot their fishing poles, he showed up the next day with 3 poles and lures that a another renter had left behind. Owner also let us his firewood, so it saved us time and money for making s'mores! 2 single person kayaks, 1 two person kayak, and a pedal pontoon boat kept the kids busy. Life jackets were adult sized, so bring your own if you have little ones. Decent sized yard for kids to play in. Good proximity to Traverse City and Sleeping Bear Dunes and other places to go. We would definitely stay again!

Amazing stay for family vacation!

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Jim’s place! It was the perfect spot for a multi generational family vacation. The backyard was definitely the highlight for us, it was meticulously landscaped and the view onto the lake was absolutely gorgeous. The beach area was a ton of fun for our young children, and we all enjoyed the paddleboat (there were kayaks also but we didn’t have time to use them) and fishing off of the dock and boat. We enjoyed lots of fires in the firepit as well. The inside was lovely too, it was stocked with absolutely everything we possibly could need and was very clean. A highlight of the inside was the loft bedroom, waking up to a sunrise view of the lake every morning was a perfect way to start each day! Interlochen was the perfect location to explore the area, from Traverse City to Sleeping Bear Dunes, everything was an easy drive away. We did not want to leave when our week was up! Thanks Jim for an awesome house and wonderful stay!

Bass Lake Vacation

Overall, the property was flawless. Furnishings and supplies were abundant and met the needs of our family. Jim was an excellent host and provided us with everything we needed to have a comfortable and relaxing stay in a beautiful setting. We really appreciated having the central air conditioning and plenty of wood for a campfire every night. We all enjoyed the sandy beach, kayaks and especially the paddle boat. We would recommend this location for any family vacation!

Great home for a family getaway

We had a wonderful time! Five adults and 3 kiddos (2, 5 and 10). None of us were ready to go home after our week was up. The home was clean and very family friendly. Enjoyed the kayaks daily and the fire pit every night . Jim walked us through the home on our arrival. A caring host. Supplied us with a bountiful amount of wood for the fire pit and all of our paper products. The lake, sandy beach area, spacious deck and well manicured lawn were awesome! Kitchen was well stocked for all of our meal preparations. The only thing missing for me was a tea kettle. Can't say enough good things! We will definitely be returning. Thanks Jim for sharing your home.

A Great Find

We have happy memories from our week in Interlochen. The owner appears to have put a lot of thought into details of the property to make for a fun and comfortable stay. The property is very clean and well maintained, with great water access. There are kayaks and a paddle boat to use on the lake. The lake is small, warm and not crowded. But it has a muddy bottom so I found it undesirable to do any serious swimming in. If you are a big swimmer I would consider this the only disadvantage to this property. It is close to the town of Frankfurt (which has a great beach) and a few really good restaurants. We would definitely stay here again. Thank you Jim for a great vacation.

Great Experience

We had the best week with my parents and 3 little boys. The lake is small so it is perfect for paddle boarding, kayaking, etc. without the worry of waves from boats. The yard makes this house. Jim has done a lovely job creating a small beach area and you are able to easily walk into the water or jump off the dock. We cooked almost all our meals and the kitchen supplies aren’t complete but I was able to make everything work. An added bonus is that Jim supplies you with toilet paper and paper towels so it is one less thing you have to bring.

Wonderful Stay

We had a wonderful time on our vacation. The view was amazing, the location was secluded but not too far from the needed conveniences. The house was cozy and provided the right amount of room. We cooked a lot of our own meals and were able to do so with what was there. The only thing we wanted when we left was more time!

Wonderful retreat!

My husband and I traveled here with our two children (ages 5 & 3) and two friends who brought their children (ages 6 & 4). It could not have been a better experience. The house was clean and had everything we needed! The kids spent hours jumping off the dock and playing in the sand. We made special memories kayaking around the lake and playing lawn games in the yard. It was a very special time and this house was the perfect retreat!! Can’t say enough good things.

We had a wonderful week. The home was very clean and family friendly. It was very quiet on bass lake this time of year and we felt like we were the only ones for miles. It was a quick trip to traverse city and sleeping bears dunes. We spent a few days at glen haven beach which was beautiful.

Very happy that Central Air was installed the week before we arrived! House was nice and clean! Owner lives there during offseason which does not allow for any closet space, so you must live out of your suitcase, same for cupboard space had to put allot of stuff on the counter. Beds are comfy, the yard is very nice. Biggest disappointment was the dishwasher was broke and we were not offered a discount for the big inconvenience that was, we don't hand wash dishes at our house and we sure didn't want to hand wash dishes when were on vacation, especially considering the price we paid!!! We have rented houses for the last 15 years in Northern Michigan and have had better stays for less money as far as amenities goes!

This property was so perfect for our 1 year old and 4 year old grandchildren. There was so much running room in the backyard and they loved the beach area. We enjoyed the paddle boat and we took our kayaks and it was a perfect lake for kayaking. It was very nice that there was wood there for the fire pit. The house was very clean and very well kept. The deck area was very nice and great for eating our dinners on. It was very quiet but was nice that we weren't far from Interlochen and Traverse City. We were definitely very pleased with the property and will hopefully be back!

Great Lakehouse for a Family Vacation

We had a relaxing week at the lakehouse. Dinners on the deck from the grill. S'mores around the fire pit at night. Paddle boat rides on the lake. We made trips to Traverse City and Sleeping Bear Dunes. We even made a day trip to Mackinac Island. I recommend this property for anyone looking for a good vacation spot.
