About the host
Hosted by Andy Nuttall

I spent the first 9 years of my life in this cottage until we moved just over the road to Bentley. My Grandparents moved into the cottage and had many happy years there. Due to sentimental reasons we decided to rent it out as a holiday home as we can't bring ourselves to sell it.
Why they chose this property
Alton water is a few minutes drive or walk away and there are plenty of places to go for walks. Although the immediate area is quiet it is only 20 minutes drive from the towns of Ipswich and Colchester. Framlingham Castle and Sutton Hoo are within 40 minute drive, as is Clacton and Frinton beaches where we spent many a summer day when I was a child. The site of Constables "The Hay wain" is also nearby at Flatford Mill.
What makes this property unique
The cottage was built in the 1750's, and the kitchen and bathroom were added on 200 years later. Just a word of warning, people weren't so tall back then so, if like me you are over 6 foot, mind your head !!
