Other things to note
Welcome to our peaceful retreat! We're so glad you're here.

Our property spans three acres, but about half of it is quite steep and has dense brush, so we kindly ask that you stay within the area of your booked dome, the pathway, and the parking area. For your safety and to respect our neighbors in this rural community, please do not venture beyond the second dome or onto any other properties. Trespassing is not appreciated.

When you arrive, please park in the designated parking area and enjoy a short walk up the stone path to your dome.

As you know, we're nestled in the mountains, home to various wildlife. To keep everyone safe and our environment clean, please do not leave any food or trash outside.

Our vision for this space is a tranquil couples' retreat. While we adore children and pets, our domes aren't really set up to accommodate them, so we have a maximum occupancy of two adults.

For the comfort of all our guests, smoking is strictly prohibited inside the dome. Please be aware that any evidence of smoking will result in fees for odor removal and furniture cleaning.

To maintain the peaceful atmosphere, parties are not permitted. Guests found having a party will be asked to leave without a refund.

We also kindly ask that you observe our quiet hours.

While snow is rare here, if it is in the forecast, please ensure you have a 4x4 vehicle for access.

About the host

Host profile image
I am originally from NJ but with deep Appalachian roots. The maternal side of my Family originated in Boone, NC. The pull of the Mountains have brought me back to NC to settle here in McDowell County.

Why they chose this property

I felt this neighborhood was in the perfect spot for glamping. It is close to Interstate 40 {2 miles} making it easy for guest to get out and explore the area attractions and towns like Old Fort, Black Mountain and Asheville.
The property itself sits atop a ridge, has 3+ acres where the domes are surrounded by trees and situated to give guests privacy from each other and from the neighbors. Summer views are peek a boo due to the leaves, spring, winter and fall have long range views of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

What makes this property unique

Staying in a Geodesic Dome is a Unique Experience in itself with its natural positive energy flow inside. Domes are the strongest structures made by man and were invented in the close town of Black Mountain by Buckminster Fuller.
