Very comfortable home. Host was easily available for questions. House was extremely clean and well located in South Portland. Host lives on bottom floor in property but we did not run into him. Highly recommend this property.

We were locked out of the unit on day tjeee of our visit. Prior to that we had come and gone with no problems entering the property. Then we came back one afternoon only to find the door code did not work. I contacted the host through theVRBO app and did not receive a reply. Next I tried calling the phone number listed for any emergency assistance, did not receive and answer. After waiting two hours I contacted the police, they too were unable to reach the host. Finally I called VRBO customer assistance and after a long period of time they were able to reach the host. The host never sent anyone to help us get inside. We found a loose screen with and unlocked window and we’re able to crawl in. I am 72, traveling with another 70 year old woman and her daughter, my 9 month old granddaughter and her mom. We were stranded outside for hours with no water, bathroom, or any assistance from the host. Once we were in and settled down for the night I received a text at 1:30pm from the host in which he wrote:“I can see that you guys went in successfully, so I think you’re all set going forward. Please do not lock the doorknob. The code will work, but if you lock the doorknob, unfortunately you won’t have access to the house. .”This was a horrible situation for us all to experience. We all know we did not lock the door knob. Also, not locking the doorknob was not listed in any instructions provided.
