About this property
Vintage Adelaida Home on 16 acres
True country home on 16 acres at the START of the famous Adelaida Road Wine Trail. Just 4 miles from the Paso Robles Event Center/Fairgrounds. This beautiful property is nestled between the Alta Colina Winery and the Mt. Olive Organic Farm and 1 mile to ReFind Distillery Tasting Room. Begin your wine tasting adventure with quick walk/bike ride over to the neighbors! This home is truly in the heart of wine country. The perfect place to relax and unwind.
Home was originally designed and constructed by the set designer of Little House on the Prairie. You will definitely notice the home's unique architecture as soon as you walk in. You will not find another home like this nor the massive 50 ft+ rock wall that provides cover to back side of the house.
In 2016, after more than 50+ years operating as a working cattle ranch (Brookins Ranch) and a viewing attraction for Adelaida Wine Trail travelers, the property was unfortunately shut down and put up for sale.
As a born and raised local, I had to purchase the property with the hopes of restoring it to its greatest and to allow others to enjoy what it has to offer. Since March 2017, my family and I have been working hard on the restoration - attempting to keep a lot of it's uniqueness while integrating modern technologies that will help expand the property's life. As such, we welcome you to come enjoy the experience as we continue to bring this property back to life!
House Features: 2 Bedrooms (1 bdrm - King Bed) - (2nd bdrm - Queen Bed ), 1 full Bathroom, fun and antique full kitchen with all necessities, living room and dining nook.
We have made several upgrades on the home and the property you can appreciate the progress so far.
Please check out my descriptions for specifics and absolutely message me if you have questions.
Guests have access to the entire house plus outside gathering area and a long paved driveway that is great for a stroll - you can even hike to the hilltop peak of the property. There are pastures in front of the house that is currently home to our Texas Longhorns, they can be viewed from the drive way.
The house is in a great location for wine tasting! We are just 4 miles off the 101. We have awesome neighbors, Mt. Olive Organic Farm (great local, organic foods and treats), Alta Colina Winery, RE:Fine Distillery, Wild Coyote Estate Winery, just to name a few. The house just sits off Adelaida Road as such is walking distance to a handful of wineries.
Please note we have another small vacation rental on the behind the Vintage Adelaida Lodge, please inquire if you are interested in booking both homes or if you have any other questions.

It was a great stay! Location was perfect, close to town yet walking distance to winery and organic olive grove, premises are beautiful, home is welcoming and clean, host was very responsive. We will return.
This is a charming home, beautifully decorated, very comfortable and well stocked. We enjoyed the countryside location, wonderful view, and short drive to downtown Paso Robles. Alicia was very nice and helpful and we really enjoyed seeing the longhorns. Thank you!

Wonderful Days and Sensational Nights
We loved the place. We had a fantastic time and truly enjoyed our time there. I will say, that the place was bigger than what we need, so going forward, I would like to have more information on the single bedroom unit that was down the hill from the unit we stayed in. In summary, it worked out perfectly and we thank the entire team for the hospitality.
This is a beautiful location. It is so nice to wake up in the morning to the sounds of a rooster or a cow. I’ll take that over hotel any day. The black and white cat was so friendly, she/he sat in my lap every evening out by the fire. The ranch house its self was very nice and nostalgic. Knowing this the kitchen and bathroom could use some attention. This place worked well for us. While we are food and wine people we do go out when we travel so the dated appliances did not affect our stay.
This property is so unique we see something new every time we come. I feel so comfortable recommending family and friends about this place because it has been clean, comfortable and enjoyable each time we've stayed.
Cleanliness of all spaces was our main issue. We appreciated that cabinets and drawers were labeled clearly. The power went out twice so flashlights and battery candles would have been nice to have. The host did keep us updated on the outages.
This was the second time that we stayed at the property. The first time was a better stay. This time, there was insufficient propane for the fire pit and the BBQ grill needed a real good cleaning (which i did before and after use). The TV in the living room kept going off every 10 to 15 minutes so that was irritating. Anyway, that pretty much sums it up. The first stay a few months back was better.
This was a perfect place to stay to enjoy Paso, it's wineries and the downtown nightlife! We enjoyed visiting the Longhorns on the property. One mama looks like she has two pretty new calves! The kitchen is very cool and retro. Everything works great for making our breakfasts. The supply of coffee was key!! It was a very nice touch for our host to leave all the fixins for s'mores! Our host was very communicative and clear regarding check in. The beds were very comfortable as were the sheets. We watched TV for just 30 minutes, and the screen is very big and nice. Overall, definitely a great stay! Thank you!
The house is adorable, lovely views, even a beautiful moon to top it off. Very comfy beds, lots of thoughtful little details such as shower supplies and kitchen items. The host did respond quickly to a few questions we had.
This property is just as described: clean, equipped, cozy, perfect for a quiet time to relax and visit Paso Robles. The kitchen has quaint appliances, such as a wall-toaster and old fashioned oven that totally worked! We cooked full meals and felt like a blast from the past. Thank you for hosting us.
The VRBO is in a ranch-like environment complete with longhorn cattle and a very friendly cat! When you walk in the door, you’re met with a very cool large chandelier made of oxen yolks. In one corner is a rock fireplace that is non-functional but true to the 1970’s character of the home. The living room area is very spacious and comfortable. Alicia was friendly and responsive to emails and phone calls. The property was clean, private and peaceful. This property would be ideal for anyone seeking a country and western vibe. We felt like we went back in time! Very relaxing! Loved it!
We were very happy with our time at Vintage Adelaida Lodge. It's a charming property. I loved how well stocked I found the kitchen. They had everything I needed to prepare meals for the two of us (after shopping for groceries at Trader Joes!) The location is a mere 10 minutes from Paso Robles with its wide array of great restaurants, but since we were there for a week we didn't want to eat out all the time. This property was perfect.
Alicia, the host, was fabulous! We were there during a fierce storm that blew a tree down across the driveway cutting off our access out. She had a crew there within an hour and 2 hours later we were able to drive out and go have a coffee in town. (It was a BIG tree!) The storm also caused some electrical problems and again Alicia was quick to have someone come address the issue and make sure we were comfortable. I give her 5 stars!
My only disappointment was that the fireplace wasn't working - the cold, rainy days of our stay would have been cheered by a fire. But I'm confident she will also have whatever the problem is solved shortly. That's how she is.
We had a great time at the Vintage Lodge. We found it a fun mix of modern and rustic in location far enough to feel away but convenient to stores and wineries. Pups were very comfortable and well suited for their stay too.
My wife and I had a wonderful stay at this VRBO. This cozy farm house was perfect for our Paso Robles trip. Close to amazing wineries and conveniently located close to town but not too close. We enjoyed looking at the stars at night, all the wild life, the long horns and hearing the dueling owls at night. The host was prompt with communication and accommodating. We had a great time.
Only ten minutes from downtown the lodge is easy access to wineries and main roads. The house was spacious, clean, and well supplied. The local longhorn pets were an added treat.
