Once again, a wonderful visit to PT and this lovely home. It could not be an easier place to stay; beautiful view, great location, well equipped and the best of hosts!
The water was hot, the kitchen updated and well equipped, the WiFi was reliable and fast, the neighbors were all friendly & engaging and we would definitely stay again.

Beautifully renovated historic home in the Victorian seaport of Port Towsend. Lovely views of the bay from the living room, comfortable beds with fluffy comforters, all the amenities of home. Easy walking distance to downtown restaurants, bakeries, coffeeshops, and Aldrich's market.
We love the view of the ferry landing and departing and the birds soaring over the shoreline. The house has everything you'd need for a homey stay. It's so close to so many things that we just park our car and walk everywhere. This is our second stay. I hope we will have a chance to visit again.

...would be delightful for an entire vacationing family. Comfortable environment, entrancing architectural features, stunning views, could not be a more walkable location, very personable/responsive hosts, notably reasonable cost for a vacation rental. For me, the extended stay arrangement has been ideal. Memorable!
Exactly what we had hoped for! The house was very comfortable, clean, homey, and an amazing location. We walked to everything- shopping, restaurants, movies, farmers market , and more. The owners were wonderful. Definitely would love to return. Thank you Deborah and Stephen for sharing your amazing home!

The location was perfect for us and visiting family. The hosts were super responsive and easy to communicate with them. The house was spotless when I arrived and the layout was great for us. The view from the living room was amazing and I spent many hours reading and watching the water. My work is dependent on a good WiFi connection and I had zero issues.
It was really sad to have to leave.

We are so glad that you had a good stay. I hope that we will see you again.
Must reiterate - couldn't be a more pleasant & convenient location...even w/out a vehicle. Safe/quiet neighborhood, too. Lovely/peaceful views from all over the house. Deer, squirrels, birds... Hosts are great. House is comfortable - with charming decor items. Salish photographs in dining room are very compelling. Memorable in every sense.
This was the perfect stay! We adore Port Townsend and the house was beautiful and charming with plenty of space and an amazing view! It was stocked with everything we could have wanted. The neighborhood was perfectly located to walk everywhere and the neighbors are friendly and helpful. We loved sitting on the back porch with our coffee, looking at the water and watching the deer every morning. The living room was really bright and welcoming with a contemporary but vintage vibe. We could walk to the weekly market and both the shops and restaurants of uptown and downtown. We hope to return soon!

We miss our uptown home already.
We were between selling our home in Tacoma and purchasing a home in Port Townsend. This could have been an unsettling time- especially for our ten year old daughter; instead, it was delightful. From the welcoming interior, to the charming toys, to the location, to the lovely view this was the PERFECT place to call “home” for a month. Thank you for sharing such a special place and making this a wonderful memory instead of an inconvenience. We appreciate you and your home!

We are so glad you enjoyed your stay. These times are so unsettling and we try to provide some 'calm in the storm'. All the best in your home.

We were very fortunate to have had a cancellation open up for us to book this lovely home with Deborah. It is conveniently located in uptown and literally a couple blocks (5 min walk) from the main street of downtown with many shops and restaurants. It's very close to all that is happening in PT, yet far enough away that it is very peaceful and quiet day & night.
The home is a victorian classic that has been fully modernized. It's very well appointed for a month long stay. Deb was super friendly, responsive and helpful with replacement of a pedestal fan that stopped working during our stay.
If you can find availability at this PT charmer, I would highly recommend booking this wonderful home.

Beautiful fully restored older home in ideal PT location
Gorgeous house. Pictures don’t do it justice. House is blocks from the “uptown” business district (where the Saturday Farmer’s Market is located) and a matter of 50 yards to the stairs to “downtown.” Very quiet neighborhood/street. Lots of deer. A beautiful church on almost every corner. Especially gorgeous upstairs bath with claw foot tub.
For those traveling in the warm months:
Be sure to check out the beach at Fort Worden- quiet and lovely.
Also there’s a Fifties style restaurant downtown that’s good for kids- sit on the patio. (Insider tip: they keep strange hours so be sure to check ahead).
There’s an especially cute and affordable gift shop a few blocks away called Petals.
Happy travels!
We fell in love with this house the moment we walked in. It has charming character, and was decorated to feel welcoming, cozy, and like a home-away-from-home. The house and kitchen supplies were well-stocked, and the house was spotless upon arrival. We really didn't use the upstairs bedrooms, but they were charming as well. But look, here's the best parts of this rental: it is in SUCH a terrific location, for exploring downtown, going to the farmer's market and Pane d'Amore bakery, shopping at the co-op and Aldrich's, and for just walking the uptown beautiful neighborhoods. We also enjoyed walking to Chetzemoka Park, Salish Grill/Point Hudson Cafe, and walking along the marina and the Point Hudson beach, even though they are just a little longer walks. And don't miss going to the Forts: Worden, Townsend, and Flagler. This also served as a great home base for day trips to Cape Flattery, Sol Duc, Lake Crescent, Olympic Nat'l Park, Whidbey Island, the tulip festival in Mt Vernon, and Bainbridge Island. But there are two cherries on top of this wonderful 'sundae:' the owners, who were such a pleasure to work with, and the VIEW from the living room and Polk St. porch. We spent hours just enjoying the peaceful view of sailboats, military vessels, other unique marine craft, and the regular comings & goings of the ferry. Within a few days, we had already booked our next visit! We can't recommed this place highly enough, & we can't wait to get back to "our" little house on Jefferson!

Hello Jane,
It was quite a February in the PNW - unusually snowy and cold. I am glad you were still able to enjoy your stay. And, about that couch, I must get something more comfortable. Somethings came with the house and just didn't leave when they should have! Thanks for mentioning it.
I hope we see you again.

About the host
Hosted by Deborah Moriarty
Stephen and Deborah Moriarty raised their family and live on the Olympic Peninsula. They are avid gardeners and hikers and enjoyed working with a contractor to renovate the Phillips House. The Moriarty's love to travel and use VRBO wherever they go.
Why they chose this property
Port Townsend is a wonderful place to visit. There are always festivals and shows and many fine restaurants and cozy coffee houses. The Phillips House is a taste of the colorful history of Port Townsend and the Olympic Peninsula and we would like to share it with others.
What makes this property unique
The Phillips House is in uptown Port Townsend with sweeping views of Port Townsend Bay. There is nothing more wonderful than watching the sailboat races on Sundays, unless of course you are in them, or the sun rise over Mount Rainier. These are the views from the many windows overlooking the waterfront. The house was changed little, except for the addition of a workable kitchen, during the renovation. It still holds all the charm and style from the time it was built by Mr. Phillips in 1872.
