Experience Authentic, Rustic Montana Wilderness at the Chasing Rainbow Cabin
Craving real Montana wilderness with front-row seats to nature’s best show? You’ve just found your spot. Our no-frills cabin is simple but elegant, sturdy and unapologetically Montana. This cozy 1-bedroom cabin with an additional sleeping loft and pull out sofa offers a true Montana cabin experience, providing an unforgettable retreat surrounded by nature. Steps from your own stretch of the Yellowstone River, Chasing Rainbows is a fishing and nature lovers paradise. The cabin can sleep up to 6 (ideal for 4) people and has a large full bathroom with a wonderful shower.
Set on 25 private acres, the cabin offers 3/4 miles of direct river frontage and fishing access. It also borders 640 acres of pristine state land that guests are welcome to explore, making it a perfect base for adventurers and solitude seekers alike. There is no TV in the cabin, naturally, but rest assured the house has great free Starlink internet access.
Exclusive Amenities
While the cabin offers seclusion and tranquility, the true benefit of this property are it's natural and additional amenities which includes private access to:
Swimming Pool: A full-size (22' x 40') heated pool just steps from the cabin, complete with river and mountain views, gazebo, decks, and a private bath house with outdoor shower.
Pickleball Court: Enjoy a full-sized pickleball court for day or evening play.
Grassy Recreation Field: A manicured lawn perfect for croquet, frisbee, touch football, archery, or simply relaxing under the big Montana sky.
Peaceful Seclusion—Worth the Journey
Please note: this property is designed for those seeking quiet, off-the-grid experiences rather than easy town access or social bustle. The cabin is about a 30-minute scenic drive from Livingston, mostly along well-maintained gravel and dirt roads. The route winds through unspoiled ranchlands and public wilderness—often providing wildlife sightings and some of the most stunning views in the area.
Wilderness Hiking & Exploration
Guests are welcome to hike the adjacent public lands and explore the surrounding trails. This is true backcountry terrain, so we recommend bringing maps, appropriate gear, and notifying someone of your plans. Additional hiking recommendations and trail suggestions are available upon request and we ask that guests take all precautions for wilderness and wildlife when exploring.
Cabin Layout & Features
Main Bedroom: Romantic and cozy with a queen-size bed, fireplace, and en-suite full bathroom.
Living Room: 2 sofas (one is a sleeper sofa) and an oversized real fireplace is perfect for reading, playing games or storytelling time.
Sleeping Loft: Two twin beds, closet, and dresser—perfect for kids or extra guests.
Kitchen: Fully equipped with a full-size stove and oven, toaster oven, coffee maker, crockpot, cookware, utensils, and glassware.
Washer/Dryer: Stackable units available for guest use.
Outdoor Living: Covered front porch with views of the Yellowstone River, outdoor seating, and a propane grill (propane provided).
Owner & On-Site Support
The cabin is completely private with its own driveway and riverfront setting. The property owner lives in a separate home up the hill and is available if needed—but only by request. A full-time ranch manager may be seen tending to property maintenance but will respect your privacy.
Yes, it’s a premium nightly rate - not because of the thread count, but because opportunities like this are few and far between. You are not booking a stay - you are booking an experience.
Please read before booking: Rustic means rustic. No central AC, Expect dust, weather and the occasional critter , Best for seasoned travelers who love the outdoors and who know what “off grid” really means.
