Rustic Moose Cabins ~ Your Home Away from Home

A place to relax and enjoy the great Alaskan wilderness. Just north of Anchorage 45 minutes and only 7 miles from Palmer. Situated near the base of Pioneer Peak. The house is close to Jim Creek Recreational area, many other local trails, a biking path and near several other recreational activities. Come and relax in a private home. The house is located on a hobby farm so make fresh eggs your breakfast while enjoying the spectacular view that Alaska and this home offers. The cabin sleeps eight comfortably with a queen bed, twin with pop-up trundle, full sofa sleeper and two full size air mattresses. Two full size bathrooms with towels. Full kitchen with most basic elements including full frig, dishwasher, stove and oven. There is also a washer and dryer for renters use. Newly added to the property 4 new e-bikes for our guests to rent and enjoy the local trails. A piece of paradise in the heart of the beautiful outdoors of Alaska.

Beautiful house, all the necessities to make it feel like home, organized with labels to find things easily when entertaining. Beautiful inside and out and kept 7 kids entertained with the pool, pool table, air hockey and foosball. Everyone had a great time and loved the home.

Cute home in quiet area!

This home was close to the attractions we were there for and in a quiet secluded area. We loved that they had out door games and a fire pit. The farm fresh eggs, fruit, and pancakes were an appreciated bonus!

Perfect place to hang out with our 2 adult kids. Our son moved to Palmer a year ago. It was fun having him show us around. Good kitchen with lots of spices!

Wonderful cabin

This was our first trip to Alaska. Loved the cabin, so roomy and quiet. Erin is a great host, she was quick to reply. Farm fresh eggs were waiting for us. She was very accommodating when I asked if we could get more eggs. This cabin is perfectly located central to the attractions we visited. I would definitely stay here again.

Great base station

This property was a true gem. While visiting our son we used this as a base station for the first portion of our trip. The cabin was extremely clean and very comfortable. The host was amazing and the breakfast items she delivered including fresh eggs from the farm were a great touch that added to the overall experience. In all of our travels that was a first and much appreciated. We will definitely stay at Rustic Moose on our next trip.

Hidden Gem in Palmer!

The cabin is absolutely gorgeous and was more than enough room for our family of four. It has a kitchen with everything you need to fix and enjoy meals. The propane grill was nice to allow us to grill a couple of times. We absolutely loved our stay in this quiet little nook of Palmer. The hosts were very friendly and easy to communicate with. If you are looking for a great place to stay while visiting Alaska or even a small getaway from the hustle and bustle of daily life, this is the perfect place to stay! We would gladly stay here again, any night!

Beautiful cabin for 4

Beautiful clean cabin with lots of amenities, two great bathrooms and tasteful Alaska-themed decorations. We enjoyed the fresh eggs and fruit, that is a very nice touch! I need to say though that there are only 2 bedrooms and just 1 queen and 1 twin trundle bed. The additional 4 sleeping spaces were on inflatable mattresses and on fold-out living room sofa with shrink-wrapped thin mattress where you feel every spring. My friend left with back pain. The owner Erin was very responsive and kind. Really wonderful place for 4 people, but I would probably not stay here again if there are more of us.

Cute & Clean House

Everything was fine - clean and nice to have the fresh eggs (we love our eggs!). I think it should be noted that the bed descriptions are as follows: There is a twin trundle bed in the bedroom that was really too small for my teen boys. Thin mattresses and very squeaky flimsy springs. Fine for regular sized children, but my boys are adult sized. Also, the queen bed in the "loft" area is an air bed, not a real bed. It ended up working (we took the mattress off the trundle for one kid) but it should be better described in the home description. We had a campfire one night. It was delightful!

We liked it here so much we just finished enjoying staying a 2nd time.

Both time we have stayed at the Rustic Mouse cabins we have enjoyed ourselves tremendously. The place is kept up very nicely. Everything was prepared for when we arrived. The Cabin was clean and inviting. It is in a great location. We like being away from the city but not too far. It is quite a peaceful. It is centralized with good access to so many fun activities. One of our favorite activities is a hike to a breath-taking view. The hike, which is only a 5 minute drive from the cabin, leads to the top of a Butte that gives you a 360 degree view of the valley including the Glacier that comes into it. You can choose a steep hike to the top OR you can choose the gentle hike from the other side. Our family likes both so we start on both sides and meet at the top and come down together. The name Rustic Moose Cabins is appropriate. One our first trip we saw a moose come right up to the windows where we were all eagerly watching. This time we saw moose come several times, including an adorable calf. You will not be disappointed if you choose to stay at this property. The owner is very nice and easy to work and the place starts to feel like home very quickly. Enjoy!

Rural home

This was an enjoyable stay! Without being too remote (too far from Anchorage or Wasilla), we were able to have a remote home experience. Parents loved (kids bemoaned 😉) the lack of WiFi. It forced them to spend time playing games and cornhole. Note to out of state visitors: our cell carrier has NO service in the state of Alaska. Something to look into. We found ourselves parked outside of McDonalds a few times. The yard area is large & two picnic tables allow for outdoor eating if the weather is warm enough. (No table inside- which suited us just fine. We used the coffee table/ sat in the ground.) We stayed here with our 6 kids. Although there were technically enough beds, the pull out bed was so thin, the springs made for an uncomfortable few nights. There could be a few more pillows and blankets for sitting around the house & more comfort. We didn’t see the owners at all, except for when we sought them out. No wildlife except for a rabbit. I really liked the layout. For the size of the house, it held our family well. Kitchen was large and open to the living area. 2 showers, with the majority of the sleeping spaces upstairs was a great fit. Exactly what we were looking for.

Great property

We had a great time visiting Alaska again which was made all the more special by staying in this great property. The house had everything we needed for the four of us, two of which were elderly. No hesitation to stay there again.
