We love this house. It was super quiet and cozy. The kitchen is the best stocked Vrbo kitchen we have ever encountered. If there is a drawback, I would say that it is the antique/original doorknobs. They do need to be repaired or replaced for ease of use. But on the other hand, no biggie and kind of add to the charm. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

Mark,
Thank you for your thoughtful review! We’re so glad to hear you enjoyed the quiet atmosphere, cozy feel, and especially the well-stocked kitchen. We work hard to make the home comfortable and functional for guests who love to cook and relax.
We also appreciate the feedback about the original antique doorknobs. They are part of the home’s historic character, but we understand they can occasionally be a little tricky, and we’re actively looking at ways to improve ease of use while preserving the charm of the house.
Thanks for treating our home with care. We’d love to host you again on a future visit!
Take care,
James
The day we arrived it was a beautiful fall day and stepping into the farmhouse seemed so much more. The fall decor and the house decor made us feel very welcomed. All that we needed was readily available. The grandchildren loved playing outside on the swings and seeing deer every morning. We also enjoyed having a campfire at night with a relaxing glass of wine. Very family friendly.

Thanks so much! We loved hosting you and your family, and we look forward to seeing you again in the future!
In general, this is such a beautiful refuge from the noise of city/suburban life in Upstate New York. Gazing out the window the first morning, we saw a flock of turkeys passing through. The next day, fox and, later, a small herd of deer. The house itself is lovely. Though it was just my husband and I, this is the perfect place for families. We pictured families gathered around the spacious dining table with jigsaw puzzles, board/card games and a big bowl of popcorn. Our hosts have really, TRULY thought of everything... plenty of fresh, clean towels, beds ready to climb into, snacks ready for a hungry traveler, fresh flowers... and the primary bedroom BED. It was perfect. Plenty of private space to curl up with a book... two back bedrooms look out on the back yard, with views of the mountain... the front bedroom looks over the rest of the property. I was curious about the paintings in the living room and bedroom/bathroom, particularly the landscapes. They weren't signed and we wondered if the hosts painted these. We will definitely be back. Next time it won't be in the cold of February so we can enjoy the rockers on the front porch... also the firepit just off the back of the house. Beautiful. Inviting. Cozy. Lovely.

Why they chose this property
The farmhouse sits in a quiet valley where many times you only hear the birds. The front porch is perfect for early morning coffee or a glass of local wine in the evening.
